Chapter 344: 320 Shen Gui Spirit Pills

Soon, I sensed the thermal energy marker within Yinyue’s body.

But that was as far as I could go. I was only able to grasp the existence of this thermal energy marker and thereby understand the state of Yinyue’s body, yet I couldn’t lock onto her specific spatial coordinates at this moment. When I tried to observe the scene surrounding Yinyue, I felt as though my perceptive vision was clouded by a haze of grey mist, unable to see through to the specifics on the other side.

It was the grey mist that was hindering my perception.

Honestly, I was somewhat surprised. Not because the grey mist could obstruct my perception, but because it couldn’t completely block it. This was the Power of Divine Seal Fragments, and according to past experiences, cutting off my connection with the thermal energy marker should have been no more difficult than using an iron knife to slice through a spider’s web.

Previously, I used my own Flame Power to interfere with the grey mist, and it truly was affected by me. Although it was just for a second or two, and it quickly suppressed me in return, the fact that my strength could have an effect on the transformative Divine Seal Power was irrefutable proof of my increased strength.

Unfortunately, this was as far as I could go for now. To think about overturning the grey mist, I have no idea how long a road lies ahead. And moreover...

I probably won’t be able to continue growing stronger in the future.

My potential has been fully realized. I can feel that the strength which had been accumulating in the depths of my soul has all transformed into Flame Power that I can manipulate. From now on, no matter how powerful the enemy or how frightening the danger, I will no longer be able to grow stronger amidst crisis as I did before. I am now my ultimate self.

In the past, I possessed the Infinite potential of an Impermanence candidate, but now, I am Impermanence.

To continue growing, I would need to exert effort in other directions, to see if I can achieve something akin to drawing inferences from one case to another or if I could delve into the techniques of using power, etc.

The former seems unlikely, due to Shan Liangyi’s Vermilion Bird Seed, I lack the talent to manipulate anything beyond Flame Power. "Artifact Refining," however, is a direction that could be worth exploring, but considering my odd performance in this area all along, it seems unlikely to go smoothly.

As for the latter... I’ll take it one step at a time.

It’s not that I haven’t thought about studying the techniques of using mana before, but when my strength was rapidly improving, rather than spending time and energy on techniques, it was better to focus all my attention on unleashing power. Perhaps the technique I just learned yesterday would no longer match the strength that had become stronger by tomorrow. Now that I cannot advance further in strength, I can only hope for a chemical reaction brought by skills.

For now, I should focus on Yinyue. In fact, I have somewhat understood where Yinyue has been taken to now. The feeling of being hindered by the grey mist is somewhat similar to an experience I had in the past—being inside an independent reality space.

Back then, I also found it hard to connect to the "firefly" I had set in the real world; the only difference now is that the strength of the barrier has been intensified who knows how many folds, but it hasn’t reached a point where I don’t recognize it. By the way, I’m not sure if I’m overthinking or not, but for some reason, the strengthening of the barrier between another space made me think of the experience of isolation in the basement of the fifteenth floor.

Yinyue is probably transferred to some independent reality space set up by Ying Lingyun somewhere else.

The last independent reality space, I was able to forcefully invade by relying on my identity as a Divine Seal Fragment holder and Flame Transmission to bypass the firewall, but the current independent reality space might have changed the firewall mechanism, or simply and crudely added a targeted "Zhuang Cheng is not allowed in" blacklist mechanism that prevents me from doing the same.

For Yinyue, falling into Ying Lingyun’s hands is probably an even less acceptable situation than falling into mine. At least I have not yet found a way to eliminate her and leave Changan behind on my own, whereas Ying Lingyun might possess the means to revive the real Yinyue using her as a living sacrifice. This way, aside from Gua Tianshi who might be interested in inviting her to join his faction, this Yinyue is indeed against the whole world now.

Ying Lingyun’s intention conflicts with mine; I cannot allow Ying Lingyun to use Yinyue as a living sacrifice, because that is equivalent to using Changan as a living sacrifice. Fortunately, I shouldn’t need to worry too much about Ying Lingyun carrying this out so early on. Considering Yinyue’s current state of being burned to fragments, it’s highly likely she’s unfit to serve as a living sacrifice to revive the real Yinyue.

Ying Lingyun would probably look for ways to heal Yinyue first, which is surely a very difficult task. After all, it’s a burn left by me, Impermanence, which might not be as profound as Xuanming’s, but it’s far from an ordinary injury. Of course, if he were to also employ the Power of Divine Seal Fragments in this matter, that would be a different story.

Since I can’t successfully intrude into where Yinyue is, I can only pull my attention back. At this moment, I sensed something else. Nearby, there was the flame and heat that I had left behind.
