Chapter 90: Everyone Awakens, Even Her

Chapter 90: Chapter 90: Everyone Awakens, Even Her

"What power did you awaken?" Liora asked as she glanced at Liang Zihan, who was busy packing supplies into his bag and carefully arranging every item as if they might never stop again.

They were getting ready to leave this villa, after all they had already decided to stay here for the night. And after the heartfelt meal, even though they had forgotten about Liang Zihan, Zhou Yinuo, and Yan Lin for a while, they still managed to eat to their hearts’ content and laugh a little.

"Huh? I awakened...? Did I awaken any power?" Liang Zihan exclaimed, blinking in surprise. His hands paused mid-movement, and he stared at her with a face full of honest confusion. "I thought I just felt a little light-headed when I woke up..."

He looked down at his hands, then at the others.

He had been so busy catching up and absorbing what happened that he had completely forgotten to think about himself.

They all exchanged glances. None of them had told him yet — they assumed he already knew. After all, anyone who awakened powers would be the first to feel it, right?

But they forgot just how silly and clueless this young man could be sometimes.

"Didn’t we tell you?" Chen Wei said, half-amused. "You slept the most because something was happening inside your body. Your body was adjusting."

"Try to feel it," Liora added, her voice calm and steady. "Try to feel the energy inside you. Don’t think, just close your eyes and feel. And you two," she turned to Zhou Yinuo and Yan Lin, "Mei said you also awakened new abilities. See what it is."

Unlike Liang Zihan, the girls both nodded right away. Their expressions weren’t confused at all. They had already felt the changes inside them — strange, unfamiliar energy flowing through their bodies like a second heartbeat. It wasn’t strong, not yet, but it was still there, coursing through them with every breath they took.

Zhou Yinuo went first. She closed her eyes, raised her hand slowly, and took a deep breath. The air around her hand slowly stirred, just slightly at first, like a breeze brushing across their skin. Then it picked up, circling her wrist with a faint whistle, and a gust of wind spun her hair gently before dying out.

"I... it’s wind," she whispered. "It feels like it listens to me. If I focus, I can push it and control it." Zhou Yinuo immediately recognized it as she had seen wind ability awakeners.

Her fingers trembled slightly, not from fear, but from awe. It felt so light. So fast. Like she could disappear into the wind if she wasn’t careful. She was happy for herself, that now she would not become a burden on her friends. She could fight her fair share of fight. She clenched her fist with ecstasy as a tear appeared in her eyes, finally. Only she knew how she had longed for this day.

Then it was Yan Lin’s turn.

"I already had water affinity," she said softly. "But now... it’s different."

She sat down and placed her palm against the wooden floor. The air around her hand shimmered faintly, and the floor creaked as if reacting to her touch. Then, slowly, a small green vine poked up between the cracks. It curled upward with a bright shine and moved as if it was alive, like it had been waiting for its time to be released.

"I think I can control plants now," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "Water... and now this. Both feel very connected."

Liora watched with quiet amazement. Water and plants. That combination was powerful — deadly, even. Yan Lin was calm, but her power wasn’t.

Both of them had complementary powers. If she really learned how to use this to its full potential, then there could be no one to stop her.

And then everyone turned back to Liang Zihan, who still looked like he had no idea what was going on.

"Okay..." he muttered and slowly sat down like the others. "Let me try."

He took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and focused. At first, nothing happened.

But then, under his palm, the ground shifted slightly. The dirt under the cracked tile trembled. A tiny pebble rolled toward his fingers. Then another. And then a small stone lifted into the air, hovered there for a moment, and dropped back down.

His eyes flew open.

"I-I did that...?"

"You did," Liora said with a faint smile. "You have earth manipulation."

Liang Zihan blinked again, as if still trying to understand what that meant. Then a grin slowly spread across his face, wide and boyish.

"That’s... so cool!"

"Liora, did you awaken a power too, just like us?" Liang Zihan suddenly asked. He was also hoping that Liora could also awaken her power and become even stronger.

This question of his made everyone’s eyes snap towards her, all of them were waiting to hear her answer with expectant expressions.

Liora sighed. She knew she could not run from this question, and it was obvious everyone would ask her someday. So she had already prepared her little lie.

She gave Liang Zihan a provocative smile, "Guess."

"Hmm! What?" But before he could answer, his backpack that he packed with so much effort suddenly disappeared from his sight. "What the hell...." But suddenly his eyes widened as he stared at Liora with wide eyes.

Everyone’s expression was filled with surprise. They all immediately understood what it was as they had seen Ji Ming using it countless times. And Ji Ming was the most happy because he also got a friend with the same ability.

Only Chen Wei wore a thoughtful expression on his face. But he did not say anything, only gave Liora an encouraging smile. Maybe it was a good sign that she was finally opening up to them.

"Here, your bag." Liora took it out from her space back and threw it towards him.

"Careful!" Liang Zihan leaped on the ground while still sitting that his position almost looked comical. "You can’t throw it like that, it contains my precious items," Liang Zihan said with a hurt voice.

"Whatever," Liora said with a smirk before throwing her hands in the air. She could not deal with him anymore. "Let’s get out of this place. We are already running late," she muttered.

"Wait... but let’s divide it first..." Ji Ming stopped her.
