Apocalypse: Transmigrated with an Overlord System -
Chapter 181: Phase Two Begins
Chapter 181: Chapter 181: Phase Two Begins
Liora was still staring at the upgraded panel, her heartbeat slowly settling after the sudden quake, when a soft ding echoed again in the quiet air.
A new golden notification bloomed in the center of the screen, its edges glowing faintly like starlight, reflecting with gentle rhythm. She does not know whether it was because the system had one in upgrade or because the base had upgraded that the design of this system had drastically changed and it not look like plain interface like before. Now it is more eye-catching and pleasing to her eyes.
Her eyes narrowed slightly. But why it was changing these what is the point of pleasing... is it playing some psychological game with her so she would not get angry at reading hard missions and curse this damn system less.
But she did not dwell much on... and looked at the new notification.
"Another one already?" she murmured.
The interface smoothly expanded, revealing a new panel with sleek lines and shimmering icons. Unlike the simple structure of the previous mission, this one was more intricate and clear and eye-catching.
[Main Mission · Base Upgrade (Phase 2)] Activated!
[Now that your base has entered Lv.2, you have unlocked new development potential. In this phase, your goal is to stabilize and enhance infrastructure, expand production, and ensure the survival rate of all residents.] The system said with in his usual calm voice, with very much less disdain for her.

Liora stared at the screen, the golden glow reflecting faintly in her eyes.
"Well... that’s a lot more intense," she muttered, dragging her fingers through her red hair. She shifted to sit up straighter, folding her arms as she reread the task list carefully.
Two more functional buildings. That should be manageable. The blueprint pack from Phase 1 might even have something usable—maybe a simple infirmary or a farmhouse? Mei had mentioned wanting better medical facilities, and an armory could be useful too, especially with security still marked as low.
The Primary Food Factory output goal made her pause for a moment. That meant tripling production. But she really has no way to upgrade it neither she know how to upgrade the factory output at all. She could only buy boost but it is not long time solution. Does she needed to do mission so she can get something that upgrade the Convenience Store aka her Food Factory.
Neither the system has issued anything that could reward her with Convenience Store upgrade.
The advanced production tasks were a challenge she was ready for. Liora’s gaze drifted toward the closed door, where the distant sounds of cooking and conversation filtered in from the outer road. They’d been cooking in bulk, even now founding a way to produce flour. She was confident they could mass-produce what was needed—if only she planned it carefully.
But then her eyes landed on the final objective—and her expression gradually grew more serious.
Ensure 100% Survival Rate for 30 consecutive days.
Her heart thudded once.
Thirty full days. No illness left untreated. No accidents, no disappearances during night watch, no infected injuries should be ignored. Liora realizes that it wasn’t just a production challenge—it was a test of leadership, vigilance, and care.
Her fingers tightened slightly around the edge of the screen.
"This one..." she whispered. "This one’s not about numbers."
It was about people, all innocent people that had dared to trust this base with their life so as the base lord she must protect them well and should ensure their survival.
The rewards were tempting—especially the Sentinel Tower Blueprint. That could be a turning point for defense. And two rare lottery tickets meant there was a good chance of gaining unique assets—seed packs, high-tech modules, maybe even blueprints from the old world.
But none of it would matter if someone died.
Her brows furrowed in thought, then she reached for the folded paper map beside her bed—a hand-drawn layout of Dawn Base, painstakingly updated by Eli with colored ink and enthusiastic spellings.
She looked at the detail map and was really impressed and sighed, "This child he is really mature and do things like no one would thought." When he handed it to her, she was also very surprised with this that he had actually looked at the base so carefully to not even miss a tree.
She smiled and continued studying the map.
She marked out possible locations for new buildings, paused to note areas for defensive reinforcement, and circled the Food Factory with a red line.
It was doable. All of it, she knew there is not trouble in it.
But only if she noticed the smallest cracks before they spread into real damage, treated any illness before it turned into a dangerous infection, calmed arguments before they became real fights, and repaired faulty equipment before it failed when they needed it the most.
She exhaled softly, and with fiery eyes she looked outside with a new glint.
"No mistakes," she murmured. "Not while she was in charge. She wouldn’t let even one slip past her."
