Chapter 1393: Chapter 577: Slaying Within Three Minutes
The Giant Zombie was afflicted with the [Corruption] Curse, and its Blood Regeneration Ability visibly decreased. Wang Tao compared it with before and discovered that the Corruption Curse could reduce the Giant Zombie’s Blood Regeneration Effect by fifty percent, essentially halving it, and it would continue for ten minutes!
Originally, Wang Tao’s plan was to defeat the Giant Zombie in ten minutes, and if it took longer than ten minutes, he would flee. The duration of this Corruption aligned perfectly with his plan!
Initially, Wang Tao wasn’t quite sure if he could kill the Giant Zombie, but now he was about 70% certain he could defeat it.
"It seems you’re not very lucky!"
Wang Tao muttered to himself, then drew out his Flaming Giant Blade and slashed at the Giant Zombie’s eyes.
Roar—
The Giant Zombie roared in rage, shaking its head.
Despite its massive size, it managed to dodge Wang Tao’s strike.
"Eh?"
Wang Tao was somewhat surprised.
He had encountered several Giant Zombies and had killed a few. He wasn’t bold enough to claim he knew them best, but he was at least among the best in humanity. However, he had never seen a Giant Zombie actively dodge his attacks.
Generally, the fighting style of Giant Zombies is very crude, seldom employing tactics like dodging and defending. They simply rely on their thick skins to physically overpower humans!
Under normal circumstances, humans couldn’t overpower a Giant Zombie due to its strong constitution. A human might inflict a few thousand points of damage with a slash, but a punch from a Giant Zombie could squash a human into a pulp!
Thus, humans had no margin for error and couldn’t afford to engage in direct combat; they could only look for opportunities.
Take Wang Tao, for instance. While he was very strong, he had never directly confronted any Giant Zombie other than the initial ten-meter-tall "adolescent" Giant Zombie.
Because he simply couldn’t withstand them! He could only look for opportunities to attack the Giant Zombie.
Since Giant Zombies usually don’t defend, dodge, or flee, as long as Wang Tao wasn’t hit by a Giant Zombie, he could tire it to death. His previous methods of killing Giant Zombies were similar.
But now, things were slightly different. The Giant Zombie had actually managed to dodge Wang Tao’s attack!
Such a powerful Giant Zombie dodging, and doing so swiftly!
This could only mean one thing—the Giant Zombie was very intelligent!
How intelligent, Wang Tao couldn’t tell as it was his first encounter, but he was certain that this Giant Zombie’s intelligence level was at least comparable to that of large animals!
If Wang Tao’s speculation was correct, then the difficulty of killing this Giant Zombie would be greatly increased!
While it sounds like a lengthy explanation, all of this happened in an instant.
As soon as Wang Tao saw the Giant Zombie dodge his attack, many thoughts flashed through his mind, but he didn’t stop his movements. Driven by his combat instincts, upon realizing that his blade had missed, he immediately released a Shockwave!
Whoosh—
This Shockwave, carrying both flames and black light, directly struck the Giant Zombie’s head.
[-15293]
[Curse: Deadly Poison]
The Shockwave had a broad range and wasn’t easy to dodge, but the damage was fairly average, similar to Wang Tao’s [Scorching Eyes].
However, Wang Tao was surprised that his second strike invoked an impressive curse!
[Deadly Poison: The target enters a Deadly Poison state, losing 1%-10% of its maximum HP every second (the percentage of HP lost depends on the caster’s Poison Attribute Attack Power and the target’s Poison Attribute Defense)]
Among all the curses Wang Tao had seen so far, the effect of the Deadly Poison Curse was definitely among the top!
Typically, damage caused by continuous statuses like Bleeding, Poisoning, and Burning are related to the attacker’s Attack power, Attribute Attack Power, and the opponent’s Defense and Attribute Defense.
In simple terms, the higher the attacker’s Attack Power and the lower the opponent’s Defense, the more HP the opponent loses. If the opponent has high Defense, such continuous effects wouldn’t cause much harm.
Like this Giant Zombie, it had high Defense, so Wang Tao’s Burn Damage wasn’t high. Although it had an effect, it wasn’t significant.
However, this Deadly Poison was different, as it deducted health based on a percentage! Although the exact amount deducted also depended on Poison Attribute Attack Power and Defense, there was a guaranteed minimum loss of 1% of maximum HP per second!
Given the Giant Zombie’s 1,000,000 HP, at least 10,000 HP would be deducted per second! Since Wang Tao didn’t have a Poison Attribute Attack, there were no additional bonuses. Even if the Giant Zombie had Poison Attribute Defense, the minimal HP deduction from the Deadly Poison would still be 1%!
Moreover, this curse lasted for 3 minutes!
Three minutes could reduce 180% of its HP, which for the Giant Zombie amounted to 1,800,000 HP! The Giant Zombie would end up owing 800,000 HP, and it would be directly poisoned to death!
Of course, that’s not exactly how it works, given the Giant Zombie’s strong healing ability. Even with the Corruption Curse reducing its healing ability, it was still not weak. So, realistically speaking, poisoning the Giant Zombie to death was not feasible.
But Wang Tao wasn’t hoping to poison the Giant Zombie to death; his concern was that this percentage-based Poisoning Effect could further slow the Giant Zombie’s Blood Regeneration Ability!
Ten minutes of [Curse: Corruption] plus three minutes of [Curse: Deadly Poison], during these three minutes, the Giant Zombie’s Blood Regeneration Ability would be greatly diminished!
