Apocalypse: I Build A Doomsday Train -
Chapter 355 - 252 Trakama Ice Valley
Chapter 355: Chapter 252 Trakama Ice Valley
The news of Infinity’s arrival and the imminent repair of Dragon Mountain No.1 quickly spread between the two trains. The passengers initially anxious in Dragon Mountain No.1’s living carriage felt greatly relieved and excited upon hearing this news.
Lin Xian felt the spirited atmosphere coming from the rear carriages and was somewhat affected; when there are many people, emotions are easily influenced by the group, whether positive or negative, which adds a lot of difficulty to train management.
Of course, the advantage is that there is strength in numbers. Combined with Lin Xian’s weapon manufacturing system, a very powerful combat force can be armed, taking root in survival during the apocalypse.
Knowing that Lin Xian was using his mechanical superpower to repair the train, many people rushed from distant carriages, and even though armed team members tried to stop them, they couldn’t block the curious gazes toward the traction train.
"Wow, is that really Captain Lin?"
"I saw him at Yu Bei Airport before; he’s truly a hero!"
"Mechanical superpower is so cool!"
"Oh my God, we’re saved."
"To think he alone can manage to repair such a large train..."
"Let me see, let me see..."
The crowd buzzed noisily as KIKI, Shu Qin, and Ning Jing were preparing to go out with their equipment, and seeing them looking over, KIKI chirped to Lin Xian, "You’re so popular; by the time we reach Xilan City, maybe the Phoenix Society will scramble to recruit you."
Her voice was half-joking, but it sounded somewhat cryptic to Shu Qin, who looked at Lin Xian with a complex expression, not knowing what his intent was.
If Lin Xian joined the Phoenix Society, would that mean Infinity would completely disband?
Perhaps the entire team would become dependent on the Phoenix Society, under its protection.
"Joining the Phoenix Society doesn’t necessarily mean we can change the current situation," Lin Xian said earnestly, "The Phoenix Society is now a mobile official institution, and the Dawn Center is entirely a super-large convoy or mobile city. Even if Infinity followed the large troop, it doesn’t mean we can relax or accept protection with ease."
Lin Xian understood the principle of greater power leading to greater responsibility; even in this apocalypse, everyone must contribute their strength, and nobody is innocent.
"That’s correct."
Ning Jing walked over at this time, followed by the pair called Ah Bai and Xiao Qing, both fully armed; it looked like she was preparing to lead them along with Lin Xian for the rescue mission.
"The Phoenix Society and Dawn City are different; without township support, except for Phoenix City and Noah’s Maritime City, all the survivor caravans on land gather together as independent entities, regardless whether they’re trains, trucks, cars, RVs—all are treated as mobile city houses. Joining the Dawn Center means having a comprehensive organizational framework in information, community resources, and defense forces, but that doesn’t mean we need to abandon our vehicles; on the contrary, our own vehicles are the most crucial foundation."
"The great human migration sounds like ants crossing," Shu Qin chimed in opportunely.
"Exactly." Ning Jing nodded.
KIKI shrugged, "Not all of the Phoenix Society is migrating; we should say the main survival forces are moving. For example, Phoenix Society’s most important industrial asset, Kehua Heavy Industry, is the world’s largest military technology group; they can’t possibly relocate all their manufacturing factories and research institutes."
"It’s indeed impossible," Lin Xian said, "Phoenix City and Noah have certain industrial production capabilities, but to support the interstellar army and the entire Phoenix Society’s munitions, technology, and industrial product manufacturing, land super factories are definitely required. For example, the legendary super-large mecha can’t be manufactured in mobile fortresses like the Dawn Center."
"As far as I know, Kehua Heavy Industry has many bases, currently under interstellar army protection, and Phoenix City is collaborating with many large organizational forces, like the Finger Group." Ning Jing looked at Lin Xian, "You probably know Jian Xuwei from Silver Star; Finger Group has significant assets and strength globally, not just their Eternal-class Apocalypse Train; besides that, there’s Silent City, also a key munitions supplier for the Phoenix Society and Dawn City. Even the original Federation’s Dawn City maintains cooperation with the Phoenix Society in many areas."
"Different stances don’t mean we can’t cooperate," Lin Xian said in a deep voice, "The crisis humans face now is the same, actually all survivors should hope humanity can unite, rather than what things are like now."
"We can only hope... that day comes," Ning Jing sighed, turned to look at Ah Bai and Xiao Qing, and said, "These two youngsters were rescued from a group of the Descent Faction; they were being used as experimental subjects to study biological evolution. For such organizations, do you think they hope humanity will unite?"
Lin Xian and the others listened intently, their gazes neatly shifting to the two individuals behind Ning Jing.
Ah Bai wore thick sunglasses, looking very youthful, about seventeen or eighteen, although his eyes couldn’t be seen, he remained silent throughout, but Lin Xian immediately sensed a restrained fear from him; it seemed like a post-traumatic physiological phobia of the outside world.
