Apocalypse: I Build A Doomsday Train
Chapter 330 - 246: Rush into the Blizzard_3

Chapter 330: Chapter 246: Rush into the Blizzard_3

In the view ahead of the train window, only the occasional utility poles and wire walls on both sides allowed a vague recognition of the track’s path. But as the track plunged deeper into the snowfield, the surroundings opened up entirely, and the Infinity seemed to be entering a pure white ocean. The sight was breathtakingly beautiful, but Chen Sixuan, responsible for the operation, knew that such deep snow was extremely dangerous for the train.

Crash! Crash!

The Ice-breaking Shield, forged from inner steel and tungsten-titanium alloy, plowed through the snow layers. This thousand-ton steel beast charged swiftly across the snowfield. Lin Xian glanced at the thermometer; the temperature outside had dropped to -12 degrees and continued to fall.

Inside, the temperature was maintained at a constant 26 degrees, with everyone still dressed in casual clothing.

In the howling cold wind, the armored panels outside the train emitted faint freezing creaks. Lin Xian frowned slightly. He and Chen Sixuan were worried about the same problem but had no better solution at the moment except to forge ahead.

The current snowstorm hadn’t yet reached a significant level. If a meter or two of snow were combined with a level 12 blizzard, that would truly be despairing.

"Keep going forward, be bold. Even if we derail, we will have a solution."

Lin Xian’s eyes hardened as he spoke to Chen Sixuan.

Luckily, it was the grasslands, and one could see changes in the terrain at a glance. Should track damage or obstacles occur, the worst would be crashing or derailing. This level Lin Xian felt he could cope with, as long as there were no cliffs or caves.

At the moment, the snow outside was about 20 to 30 centimeters thick, and from afar, the track looked like a shallow ridge raised above the flat surface.

Inside the living carriage, team members had opened the blinds to watch the snow-white scene outside. The sunlight above the sky was gradually obscured by the vortex of blizzard clouds, and the light began to dim.

[Detected ingress of Power of Fear into the carriage!]

The Heterogeneous Rubik’s Cube issued a warning, and Lin Xian’s expression changed. He quickly grabbed the communicator to instruct everyone to check all carriages.

"Check each carriage for any abnormalities!"

With a command, activity began bustling throughout each carriage.

"Carriages 2, 3, and 4 show no abnormalities," reported Sha Sha.

"567 are all good," Da Lou echoed.

"8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 have been inspected, no anomalies detected," Shu Qin’s voice also came through. "However, we found a leak at the junction of Carriage 11."

"Oh, there’s a leak at the connection between Carriages 2 and 3 as well!" Sha Sha quickly added upon hearing this.

"A frozen water leak is found at the junction of Carriages 5 and 4 too."

On hearing this, Lin Xian frowned and briskly headed towards the nearest Carriage 2. Sure enough, at the connection area, he found signs of melted snow infiltration, with water droplets continuously dripping from the junction area.

Could it be because of this?

Lin Xian was taken aback. Snowmelt carrying the power of dark invasion—how terrifying could that be!

He soon found the reason. Carriages 3 and 4 were originally advanced Cole Type 3 biological science research cabins, with a different coupling standard from the other carriages. Previously, when Lin Xian had brought these two carriages out of Underground City No. 9, he had only performed a simple connection, later adding some sealing procedures. He had enhanced them again last night, but the differences in carriage standards were far greater than Lin Xian had imagined. Now, with the temperature difference between inside and outside, the snow melting from above was seeping into the carriages, the dark invasion power carried in the snow directly triggering an alarm from the Heterogeneous Rubik’s Cube.

"Don’t touch this melted snow, everyone."

As Lin Xian saw Sha Sha and Da Lou walking over, he quickly stopped them and then thought for a moment before shouting to KIKI, "PX-05 Robot, let it handle this, and I’ll go up to add a temporary cover!"

"Okay!" KIKI immediately nodded and proceeded as instructed.

Lin Xian donned the Power Armor and Cold Proof Clothing, prepared his protective gear, and accessed the train roof from the elevator platform of Carriage 5.

Swoosh~!!!

The moment he reached the train roof, a biting cold wind mixed with snow hit him in the face. The train speedily advanced, and Lin Xian went directly to the carriage junction and started creating a large carriage cover. Since the purpose of the installation was merely to prevent snow accumulation and melting, he didn’t use heavy armor plates but used aluminum alloy with better ductility. Considering the shear force caused by the carriage turning, Lin Xian added some flexible materials to the middle joint.

Soon, both carriage junctions were sealed with the cover he had welded. Lin Xian then moved to Carriage 11, a tool carriage he took from Jiang City early on. The leakage was primarily due to aging of the carriage, along with the higher temperature in the front living carriage, causing significant snowmelt flow.

Similarly, Lin Xian installed a cover there as well, and for safety’s sake, after dealing with Carriage 11, he went to the top of the final nuclear power carriage to take preemptive measures.

Just when Lin Xian reached the top of the last locomotive of the train, he suddenly noticed something moving within the snow layers beside the tracks on either side as the Infinity passed over.

He immediately stopped his actions, activated the auxiliary combat system of his Power Armor, and began observing.

The Infinity resembled a black lone boat, navigating through the endless white ocean. The intense track vibration noises caused many ’undulating’ traces to emerge from the snow layers in the path he traveled, as if something akin to ’fish’ or subterranean creatures beneath the snow was burrowing there.
