Chapter 189: Moving On
Chapter 189: Moving On
"Lynx. If you learned about the region where the devil worshippers live from Crow, take this information to the Sun Palace. Take this too," said Atlas, reaching into his inventory and handing Lynx his family crest.
"You must take this information directly to my sister, uncle, or aunt," he added.
Lynx took the crest directly from Atlas’s hand, bowed before him, and quickly left the house. Within seconds, Lynx had disappeared.
Atlas, on the other hand, was thinking about what to do with the women here. He turned his head towards Emma, hoping to get an idea.
At that moment, Leona spoke up:
"Please don’t cast them aside; they are the ones who keep me alive..."
Atlas paused at this sentence, looked at Leona for a few seconds, and then asked, "What are you trying to say?"
"We supported each other, but I’m sure I was the one who received the most support, my lord. Every woman you see around you shared their food so that I wouldn’t die, and some even went so far as to injure themselves, even though they thought no one would be there. So please don’t cast them aside," said Leona.
After this explanation, Atlas scratched his chin and then said, "First of all, I wasn’t planning on dismissing them. They’re not pieces of trash, after all. Second, instead of talking for nothing, you should all rest. Third and finally, we’ll talk about the rest after we kill the devil worshippers." He then sat down next to Leona as if nothing had happened and began to wait.
Atlas knew that Eva would come to help him once she learned everything, and that was precisely why he was certain that waiting was the best course of action.
Of course, while he was filled with these thoughts, Atlas did not know that all the Sages had sprung into action. Juliet had, of course, informed the others of his sudden departure, and their concern that Atlas might do something dangerous had distracted each of them.
Of course, this had also caused Talon and Bellatrix to teleport to the capital. When the two arrived at the palace, they managed to see Lynx, which led them to understand the entire situation.
Bellatrix had picked up Eva like a cat, taken her in her arms, and immediately left the palace, while Bellatrix had officially assigned Talon to serve as a guard for the Emperor. It was such a comical sight that if Talon Aether and Aelia hadn’t been there, and if the pair hadn’t felt such respect for Talon, they would have been laughing their heads off.
A Sage, the sixth most powerful person in the world, Bellatrix, carried Eva, who was just a little girl in his eyes, like a cat and took her away from here.
What else could it be but funny?
When Bellatrix arrived at Lynx’s property, she entered as if nothing had happened, put Eva down, and approached Atlas, who was trying to rest, with a frown on her face.
"Atlas, I will kill you," Bellatrix said bluntly. Atlas tried to avert his eyes from Bellatrix but was not very successful.
Within seconds, Bellatrix had grabbed Atlas’s head and lifted him into the air, and immediately afterwards, the Ancient Woman had covered Atlas and Eva, who was standing on the ground, with her spell.
A short time later, the three of them woke up in an unfamiliar area.
The trio had arrived at a place that was not dark, but rather better hidden than expected, a place where one might think that a devil worshipper would never be found.
The sunlight shone evenly, the rustling of plants and tree leaves could be heard, and even the sound of animals running could be heard.
"The scoundrels are well hidden," Eva muttered suddenly.
Atlas noticed that his stomach was churning. Even though he didn’t know why, he was struggling not to vomit. It was a strange feeling, but as soon as he could move, he started moving, thinking he could observe the feeling later.
Within seconds, an immense pressure descended upon Atlas, Bellatrix, and Eva. Of course, this pressure did not hinder Eva or Bellatrix, nor could it stop them, but everything was different for Atlas.
It felt as though his entire body had collapsed for a few seconds. He felt as if he had suddenly disappeared. Atlas felt as if he had been stabbed dozens of times all over his body and nailed to the ground.
Bellatrix immediately placed a magical shield around Atlas and began waiting. Atlas continued to grow more vibrant with every second he remained within the shield.
"Dark magic, quite powerful... I don’t know why it’s affecting Atlas, but we must be careful," Bellatrix said suddenly, and without stopping, she took Eva by the hand and headed towards the source of the dark magic.
Atlas, along with the magic shield around him, began to follow Bellatrix and Eva. In just a few seconds, Atlas began to follow them as if nothing had happened.
The trio entered a cave-like area in a short time. At the entrance, there were dozens of human corpses, some already beginning to turn into skeletons, and many more...
Atlas didn’t even need to ask for anything. Bellatrix vanished from her spot at hyper speed like a woman who had lost her mind, and sounds began to rise from the depths of the cave:
"GUUUARRRGGHHH!!!"
"NGGYYAAAAAARRRGGHHH!!!"
"AAAAAA!!"
"STOP IT!!!!"
When dozens of screams came from the depths of the cave, Atlas couldn’t take it anymore and said to his sister Eva, who was beside him, "Sis, I thought we were going to fight together," then pulled out his sacred sword from his inventory.
Emma smiled beautifully and drew her sword from its sheath at her waist, and the two of them rushed forward.
Even though Bellatrix was turning everything into a pool of blood, Atlas and Eva didn’t care about anything else, and the rest who surrendered were killed, worshipping every devil in the full sense of the word.
In just half an hour, nearly a thousand devil worshippers had been executed.
The good news was that every woman, young or old, who had been held captive had been successfully rescued. In short, an entire sector had been completely destroyed in just half an hour.
Atlas and Bellatrix had returned to Lynx’s estate. Atlas had left his sister Eva there alone because he was certain that imperial aid would be sent to the cave.
Immediately after that, Atlas had told Leona everything that had happened, and the rank to be given to Leona had been decided at that moment.
The name Bellatrix had randomly chosen [The Painter of Torture] for her.
Everyone, including Atlas, was naturally surprised by this name, but no one, including Atlas, dared to question it... Well, almost no one.
"Lady Bellatrix, I see you’re still terrible at naming things," Emma said suddenly.
The group continued to enjoy themselves in a strange way, the giggles of dozens of people echoing throughout the property. Atlas, however, had paused at that moment. That feeling in his heart, those words ringing in his mind, had returned in full.
That conversation had come back to life in his mind:
[’So what am I supposed to do?’
At Atlas’s question, Chaos straightened himself from where he was bent down and then looked around again at the sky covered with galaxies and stars.
For almost a minute and a half, Chaos said nothing. Not a single word came out of his mouth. Even the creator himself seemed to have no answer for a while.
Immediately after that, a star flashed in Chaos’ mind. The ancient being, the creator of all, the ancestor of the Chaos-Borns, the father of Nyx and Erebus, and the sole owner of all eternity, looked at Atlas. When he saw him looking at him, he uttered the following words that Atlas would hear before he suddenly woke up:
’Do what you always did the best, be a hero Atlas.’]
Just as Atlas was trying to fully understand what was happening, his body was engulfed in intense pain. It seemed to have started again—the Life Stone... the Life Stone within his body had been triggered once more.
But how had it happened? What could have triggered the Life Stone’s activation? And why had it been triggered now?
As all these thoughts raced through his mind, Atlas had literally closed his ears and tried to ignore the echoing voices in his head.
Do what you always did best, be a hero, Atlas.
Do what you always did best, be a hero, Atlas.
Do what you always did best, be a hero, Atlas.
This sentence kept repeating itself, as if Atlas had forgotten something and Chaos was trying to warn him.
At least he didn’t have to endure the words, ’If you keep this up, you’ll die,’ as he had before. Of course, deep down, Atlas thought that the whole world scolding him was better than Chaos scolding him personally.
