Angel Monarch
Chapter 406 - 406: Horde Clearing

In the next two days, Faith's condition continued to improve until she could walk around without help. Her new, cherished necklace made the healing procedure much faster.

The Village's citizens didn't know how to treat the shadowy woman, but when she began preaching about Sera, they quickly accepted her. Everyone happily and curiously listened to Faith's stories about the Angel.

Sera wasn't too joyous about it, but since otherwise Faith would've gotten bored, she let her Shadow entertain the citizens.

She had much bigger issues. Her bloodlust continued building up until she could barely hold it back.

Upon reaching its boiling point, Sera set out alone, carrying a map with the nearby horde locations. A small smile grew on her lips as her vision began to darken, while her eyes turned blood-red.

With her wings, she flew to the closest location. She landed on a nearby tree branch and quickly taken off most of her clothes except for a leather bra and panty.

On the branch, she hid her clothes and the map, then set up a small, brightly colored flag. This marked the stash, which the scouts can later collect.

Sera learned from her previous mistakes. She knew her clothes would get destroyed in the fighting anyway, so instead of ruining a perfectly fitting tunic and skirt, she took them off.

Logically, even the bra and panty were useless, since it wouldn't survive the fighting, but attacking a horde of monsters naked felt weird, even for her!

Afterward, the Angel stood up and felt the light, warm breeze on her naked skin. She glanced down and couldn't help but laugh with self-deprecation.

"This is so stupid… Why can't my bloodlusted self summon an armor for fuck's sake!… Well, at least Faith will happily clean the guts and bone fragments out of my hair!"

She laughed again, this time a bit more madly. Close by, she heard heavy footsteps moving through the great trees. She smelt the distinct scent of monsters, and finally her eyes turned fully turned red as she lost control.

A pair of silvery gauntlets appeared on her hand as she jumped forward. Her wings beat the air with so much strength that the nearby giant branches cracked.

Within less than a second, she moved well beyond the speed of sound, leaving nothing but mad laughter behind. The sound echoed through the bustling forest as a warning of the Angel's approach.

The monsters didn't even notice her until it was too late. She didn't slow her speed, but instead became faster and let her body hit the first dozen weaker monsters in a row, turning each into bloody mist.

Through the fog of gore, Sera moved with unbelievable speed. Her silver claws raked beasts apart, her fist pulverized Horrors, her teeth bit out jugulars, her feet stomped everything to death.

A whirlwind of death and destruction. She ripped and teared through the beasts standing in her way. Guts and corpses painted the great trees red, leaving nothing but the monsters' pained screams behind.

Sera laughed while exterminating the horde. Her body was already swimming in blood, while her mind demanded more!

Every second dozens, if not hundreds, of new corpses appeared. It took her less than ten minutes to killing thousands, ending the horde.

However, it wasn't enough. She wanted, needed, to kill more!

The map of the other hordes suddenly popped into her head and before she realized, her wings flew her up into the sky.

The next minute, she landed atop another branch, just above the other horde of monsters. A mad giggle escaped her lips, and the blood in her eyes burned with golden flames.

Her silver gauntlets suddenly ignited as she screamed and jumped towards the first beast.

The purifying golden flame on her claws devoured monster tissue, leaving nothing but ashes behind.

It didn't matter what Class or Tier the monsters had. Sera's gauntlets were the great equalizer, since all their remains became equally indistinguishable.

With the flames empowering her moves, she killed much faster than before. However, at some point, she stopped using them. They burnt through monster flesh too easily and left no gore behind.

Soon she killed the second horde too and quickly left to exterminate the third…

She leapt into the sky, letting the refreshing air dance around her naked body, covered in gore. The smell of blood must've spread through the air, as the skies filled with flying monsters.

They looked like a mix of dragon and bird. They had lizard heads and necks, but feathers grew along their body. As they opened their mouths and screeched, the air began smelling of decay and death.

"Finally! Some actual challenge! This will be fun!"

Whispered Sera to herself, before she beat her wings and moved towards the dragon-like birds. A wide smile spread across her face as the birds simultaneously opened their mouths and shot out some acidic liquid.

It hit Sera's body, since she didn't even attempt to dodge it. Her skin and flesh began melting, revealing the bone beneath, as the strong acid devoured everything.

However, the Mad Angel only laughed in the face of imminent death. A bright golden-green light grew around her body as she continued flying towards the birds at full speed.

Her body regenerated rapidly, and the golden-green energy prevented the acid from landing on her.

Sera raised her arms before her head in an 'X' pattern and increased her speed. The birds, noticing their acid attack didn't kill the Angel, began to disperse… They weren't fast enough…

Faster than a bullet, the Angel burst through dozens of birds. The sacks inside them, which held all the acid, landed on Sera, burning away her skin and muscles.

The golden-green energy healed her body fast enough, so she didn't suffer any permanent damage. It must've hurt like hell though, not like the Mad Angel cared.

Her laughter echoed through the sky as she flew through bird after bird, killing them all without issue.

When Sera reclaimed the skies, she continued making her way towards the third horde…

The scouts and hunters stopped near the massacre site. It was extremely easy to find it. They didn't even need the maps, since the scent of blood and gore spread for kilometers.

Pakwa stood high upon a branch, her trained eyes scanning the sea of corpses for any stragglers. However, it seemed the Angel did a perfect job of eliminating them.

With a small, satisfied smile, the thin girl stepped off the branch. She freely fell a hundred meters, but just before she would've hit the ground, a strange instrument appeared in her hand.

A small metal pole with four hooks at its end. A grappling hook made of Angelic Metal. A long rope connected the tool to the leather harness around Pakwa's body.

As she fell, Pakwa tossed the hook. It caught onto a nearby branch, propelling her forward and upward.

She moved from one great tree to the other with ease, searching for the colorful flag, which marked Sera's stash.

In the meantime, the hunters began gathering meat and corpses. The bigger ones, they butchered on the spot, while they took anything person-sized.

They used wooden carts, which they piled high with monster materials. After filling the cart, they took the materials to the Village, then quickly returned and repeated this process until nightfall.

The scouts continued moving up in the trees, using the grappling hooks Sera made. They travelled much faster and far more easily.

Their job was less physically tiring, but even more important. They looked out for any stragglers or opportunistic scavengers. Anything that could harm the hunters.

However, it seemed they had little to do, since Sera's massacre made every monster run away from the area. Eventually, they also began helping the hunters, so they could store as much food as they could.

While they worked on the first site, Pakwa travelled to the next horde's location. She quickly noticed the ash-filled air and the smell of burnt corpses.

There were more monster corpses, but that wasn't her target, so she moved onto the third location. Along the way, she found bird-like monsters littering the trees, as if they fell from the sky.

She found the third site a lot worse than the previous two. There wasn't a single corpse, only pieces, bodyparts, intestines, organs, and other things Pakwa couldn't even name.

Slowly and meticulously, she moved across the field of death, her eyes scanning every bloody pile. The ever rising nausea kept interrupting her search, but she suppressed the bile climbing up her throat.

Her eyes searched the gore, looking for the telltale signs of Sera. Eventually, under dozens of corpses, Pakwa saw a single pristine white feather sticking out.

Quickly, she jumped down from the great tree, then began pulling the enormous bodyparts away from Sera's unconscious body.

With each limb or organ moved, more of the pristine white wing appeared. Even under all the gore and blood, the wings remained perfectly clean… Sera's body, on the other hand…

The Angel slept peacefully, her entire naked body covered in dozens of disgusting liquids. It didn't even matter she had no clothes, since so much blood crusted to her skin, it hid every part of her body!

Pakwa stretched and took a deep breath, which she quickly regretted. The disgusting smell immediately overpowered all her defenses.

After vomiting near Sera, Pakwa began dragging away the Angel's body. While her body wasn't muscular, she had enough strength to pull Sera towards the other scouts.

They then took the Angel back to the Village for a deep cleaning…
