73: Chapter 73 Win-Win Cooperation 73: Chapter 73 Win-Win Cooperation Returned the garbage truck to Sunkist Bar.

As evening approached, the drizzle gradually turned into a downpour.

Allen Zhang, drenched like a drowned rat, biked back to the bridge tunnel camp and found that except Dominic and Sieg, nearly everyone else was back.

Surprisingly, Jennifer was there too, but she was asleep on the sofa, hugging a pillow without any image to speak of, clad only in lacy lingerie, half of her butt and her long white legs exposed.

Because of the heavy rain outside, the camp buddies had promptly added a layer of moisture-proof matting and plastic sheeting to their tents.

Allen Zhang didn’t look much further, just a glimpse, really.

Simone and little Lori were counting money on the sofa under the bridge, surrounded by various large and small packages of daily necessities.

Dave was in charge of tallying their counts and bills.

“30 bottles of fabric freshener, 56 bars of soap, 28 bottles of fabric softener, 26 bottles of laundry detergent, 19 cans of air disinfectant, 35 bottles of hand soap, 22 skincare products, 30 air fresheners, 75 packs of antibacterial wipes, 34 bottles of mouthwash, 34 packs of tissues, 18 toothbrushes, 16 tubes of hand cream, 58 bottles of dishwashing liquid, 6 tubes of concealer…”

“If all of these sell, that’s a fortune!!” Dave exclaimed in shock.

Allen Zhang was also stunned.

I thought I asked you to use discount coupons to exploit supermarket bugs, and you two went on a shopping spree instead?

Some of these items couldn’t have come from Zero-Dollar Purchases, could they?

The value of this pile of goods must be at least a couple of thousand US Dollars, well over the $950 threshold, enough to land you behind bars for a while!

“Don’t look at me like that, we got all this from supermarkets and convenience stores!

Some of it is near-expiry stock the supermarkets give to the homeless, but you need to have the shopping voucher card.”

Simone, seeing the distrust in Allen Zhang’s eyes, immediately clarified.

“The color of your skin makes it hard for me to believe you’re telling the truth.” Allen Zhang shrugged his hands helplessly.

“Fxxk you!!

When will you learn to respect others!” Simone flipped him off fiercely, but didn’t dwell on it too much.

“What you probably don’t know is that little Lori and I discovered a new business opportunity!”

“What opportunity?” Allen Zhang asked, puzzled.

Simone immediately explained, “About the discount coupons!

There are teams who sell high-value discount coupons at low prices on major websites to others in need, but most of those coupons are fake, though some are genuine from the merchants.

But just selling discount coupons doesn’t make much profit; their main business is to buy back and resell!”

“For example, a merchant might ask shoppers to send the redeemed items to a designated location.

While selling shopping vouchers, they buy back goods at low prices.

They use the hands of the shoppers to cash out the items, resell them at high prices, and have a complete sales route.

The shoppers can also get a refund of the original price plus an additional 2%-10% handling fee, which is paid out in bonus coupons.”

Since the users of discount coupons are too scattered, and large cities buy goods in batches, it’s difficult to attract the attention of manufacturers.

Mixing in some water with genuine high-value shopping vouchers is no big deal to them.

Simone continued, “Many people are using this method.

Little Lori and I have registered several accounts, taken a few orders, and once the mailed discount coupons arrive, we deliver the exchanged goods to the designated merchant locations.

Then they’ll refund the original price of the discount coupons and pay us a 5% commission per order.

The more we exchange, the more bonus coupons we earn!”

Isn’t this just laundering coupons for cash?

Geniuses!

You’ve created a new transaction mode besides Virtual Coin and US Dollar!

These people really understand economic whitening!

“How do you ensure they won’t just keep the goods and not pay you?” Allen Zhang asked, puzzled.

“Oh, that depends on mutual trust in cooperation.

Indeed, many might like to scam each other, but this happens very rarely.

If the merchant doesn’t want to be reported, they’re free to take off with our goods.”

Simone shrugged, “As far as I know, most of those in the business are insiders from major printing companies.

Every time they cooperate with food companies to print discount coupons, there are always extras that are expected to be used.

It’s difficult for others to accumulate a large number of genuine discount coupons.”

“The team that printed fake discount coupons got busted simply because their online sales were way better than the genuine ones, causing major companies to lose tens of millions of dollars!”

“Allen, why don’t you also join our team?

We’re still short on some funds.

Dave and little Lori have joined too!”

Simone was enticing Allen Zhang to start a side hustle in his spare time, just to help their own people out.

“For now, I don’t need to branch out into other businesses because I’ve just sold a jar today and made a good sum of money.

I also picked up an antique from a Black person and sold it for 5,000 dollars,” Allen Zhang casually replied.

“You could ask Dominic and David for help when they’re free.

They can run errands to various supermarkets to cash in goods for you.

I’ll lend you the help; just give them some running away money, and it’ll be fine.”

More hands make light work, it’s a win-win collaboration, right?

“How much?!”

“5,000 dollars?!”

Everybody was stunned.

Are you some super-efficient homeless money-maker?

Even little Lori’s gaze towards him changed as she spoke in a raspy, bass voice, half-jokingly, “Bro, if you weren’t one of us, I would definitely think about robbing you!”

What kind of good Samaritan carries a few thousand dollars around the streets?

With a saving account surpassing 90% of the poor neighborhood locals, are you still a homeless man?

Is this shocking?

Wait till I drive over the motorhome that’s been well-maintained and worth 7,000 dollars and really give you all a big shock!

Allen Zhang waved it off, “Low profile, I’m just a bit luckier.

It’s all because God’s last name is Zhang.”

“Your luck is indeed great.

You’ve truly been blessed by God!”

How could someone be so out against the odds?

Finding great stuff every couple of days?

When Dominic and Sieg returned, they greeted a few people, and Allen Zhang also handed over their share of the money.

“Our team has grown, and we made quite a bit from selling jars today.

Life can only get better from here!” the General Sect Leader made the concluding remarks.

Everyone gets a share.

David and Gate had already distributed the money amongst others.

“Indeed, at least I haven’t gone hungry or faced discrimination during this time.”

Sieg contentedly accepted his hard-earned share of money, pocketed it, and took out his ID along with a golden medal, “Look!

I’ve regained my legal identification!

And a Good Citizen award!”

Allen Zhang curiously inspected the medal which felt like stainless steel and immediately concluded, “This thing obviously isn’t worth anything!”

“Of course it’s not worth much.

It’s just a standard issue item; otherwise, we would’ve pawned it first thing for cash to buy some good food,” Sieg and Dominic laughed heartily.

To a homeless person, a lousy medal is less meaningful than cash or a meal.

But there was no helping it, as the Municipal Bureau and its departments, even reluctant to fix streetlights, were so stingy and caused so much internal strife that they would go from heated arguments to physical scuffles off-camera if there were no cameras around.

Even the landlords are out of surplus!
