Chapter 41 - 41 41 Improper Human Behaviour
41: Chapter 41 Improper Human Behaviour 41: Chapter 41 Improper Human Behaviour After spending a few minutes to purify the items from the treasure chest, Allen Zhang found a dingy metal object in a pizza box, covered with cigarette ash – so unappealing at first glance, you wouldn’t want to take a second look.
He took it and rinsed it off with water, revealing a shiny gold luster.
Under the sunlight, there even seemed to be a hint of rose gold reflection.
Taking off his gloves, he weighed it in his palm – cool to the touch, a bit hefty, but not overly so.
The craftsmanship wasn’t anything to shout about; just a common 18K gold necklace with a heart-shaped pendant.
There was a name engraved on it – “cece.”
Sounded like a woman’s name.
Could it be translated to Qianqian or Cici?
Allen Zhang didn’t really care.
After all, he’d gotten what he came for and could leave now.
He had spent 20 US Dollars at Sunkist Bar and earned them back, and the gold necklace should net him a thousand more, but he still had to settle the bill with Old Mai.
He just hoped the other party would restrain himself and not overdo it, otherwise he wasn’t planning on paying and would just walk away.
It would just be the other party’s tough luck.
After all, they didn’t know who he was.
Allen Zhang tidied up the crime scene and headed back to the bar’s private room as if nothing had happened.
Bunny Girl Mary’s eyes lit up when she saw him return, and she immediately approached with a polite smile.
“Sir, is there anything else you need?”
Allen Zhang noticed one less person in the staff area.
Her colleague must have been called away by Old Mai.
He could tell immediately what the Bunny Girl was thinking – seemingly eager for some kind of business to happen with him?
But he didn’t have such intentions at the moment.
He simply asked, “How much did Mike spend here?
I said I would treat him to a drink, but it looks like he’s not around?”
Mary looked at him in surprise, “The guy who offered to buy Old Mai a drink…
No, was that you?”
“Just picking up some information from him, I agreed to treat him to a drink in return,” Allen Zhang said with a smile, “but I’m not fond of being taken for a fool by others.
If that guy is too greedy, I don’t plan on footing the bill.”
“You can go now, sir.”
To Allen Zhang’s astonishment, Mary continued with a smile, “That guy drank an entire bottle of whiskey, what a seasoned drunkard, and even ordered a two-hour massage package.
One hour for 50 US Dollars, and he was planning to use the other hour tomorrow.”
“Fxxk!
That old geezer really doesn’t know how hard it is to earn money out there.”
Allen Zhang was instantly shocked.
What a shameless creature, he had never heard of a prepaid massage service before!
He is actually trying to rip me off?
“So, if you really promised that old drunk anything, you can now act as if nothing happened and just leave.
After all, there are no cameras in the bar, and he’s got some assets on him, enough to pay his own bill.
Greedy people won’t end up well,” Mary shrugged.
“Well, that would be an unethical thing to do.”
Allen Zhang stated righteously and then turned to leave – he wasn’t exactly the ethical type, and being adaptable was a part of life’s game.
Between 135 US Dollars and being decent, he decisively chose the indecent route.
I come from Japan!
“By the way, beautiful lady, I haven’t asked what your name is?”
Allen Zhang stopped and turned back to look at the helpful Bunny Girl.
“I’m Mary.” Mary flipped her hair, trying to leave a lasting impression on the customer for future business.
“Nice to meet you, Mary.
You can call me Hanberger.”
Allen Zhang stretched out his hand for a polite handshake, then took out 20 US Dollars, placing it in her hand, “Consider it a service tip for saving me a big chunk of change.
See you next time, girl!”
“I’ll walk you out.”
Mary followed up, helping him open the secret door, “Goodbye, Hanberger.”
“Goodbye.”
When Mary watched him leave the private room, she pocketed the 20 US Dollar note with a happy mood.
Then she turned to Black in the corner, warning, “You’d better act like you didn’t see anything, James.”
“Of course, I don’t want to get into trouble; that guy could kill me with one punch,” James immediately responded meekly.
Why are Black’s eyes so clear?
Playing for your life with a base wage of 90 US dollars a day?
His main earnings are from service fees and commissions for handling special incidents.
“Good, you get a share of this money.” Mary briskly gave him 10 dollars, and now everyone’s in on it.
“Thank the Lord.” James took the 10 dollars, tucked it into his pocket, and made the sign of the cross on his forehead and chest, his face full of piety.
“You should be thanking the generous customer and the colleague willing to share,” Mary immediately corrected.
Not long after, another Bunny Girl, Guise, came out of the private room, tidied up her dress, rinsed her mouth, rubbed her cheeks, and cursed, “Damn dirty old man, he’s so rough, does he think he’s launching rockets in my mouth?
I must demand an extra 20% service fee!!”
Old Mai came out looking very content, and upon hearing this, he took a drink with ease, waving his hand, “No problem, someone will settle the bill for me.”
“Better be!
Immediately!
Quickly!
Right now!” Guise glared at him maliciously.
“I’ll go find that customer right now.” Old Mai felt a bit guilty under her gaze and hurried back to the backyard.
“No!!!!”
Three seconds later, there was an incredible scream from outside, more agonizing than slaughtering pigs during the new year.
Old Mai ran back in a rush, panicked and furious, looking at Mary and James, “Where’s that customer from just now?
Have you seen a yellow-skinned Japanese guy wearing a sweatshirt, a denim jacket, DG sunglasses pinned to his chest?”
“I don’t know.”
“No recollection.”
Mary and James replied, one after another.
Old Mai’s heart was shattered, and he was stunned.
“Please settle the bill!!
A total of 135 US dollars!!” Guise’s daunting declaration was like the last straw that broke the camel’s back.
Old Mai felt like he had fallen into an ice cave, lamenting, “What’s with people these days, no one keeps their word!
That damn Japanese guy!
I never want to see him again!!”
Shivering, he pulled out his wallet, counted carefully for a long time, and realized he didn’t have enough money.
Looking pitiful, he said, “I’ll skip that other hour; how about I go into the private room and help you out?
We’ll call it even then?”
“Fxxk you!”
Guise was infuriated into laughter by his outrageous suggestion, fiercely flipping him the bird, “Unless you have a death wish, old man, you can try!”
Old Mai sighed.
He had no choice but to go back and honestly withdraw his savings.
Damn Japanese guy!!
Baka!!
How can someone be so shameless?
To go back on your word?
But I don’t even know his name, this is the saddest part, and it breaks Old Mai’s heart.
Allen Zhang left the building, turned left, and sped off on his bike.
He arrived at Maki Street precisely on time to collect a Bali relief meal.
A cheese sandwich hot dog meal with iced Americano instant coffee and Chinese-style fried yogurt.
Black, in charge of distributing the relief meals, recognized him at a glance, and his look towards Allen Zhang became strange.
Bro, how come it’s always you?
Have you infiltrated the inside?
How are you so well-informed?
Thinking of adjusting the delivery time again next time.
Allen Zhang didn’t care.
What he cared about was the relief meal he got for free.
He’s not a fan of mouthwash; who would drink iced Americano when there’s yogurt?
Stuff not even dogs would drink.
Definitely not as good as Catherine’s hand-ground coffee.
