Chapter 359: Chapter 198 Black-hearted Jimmy

Jimmy drove the Bentley out of the parking lot and past the alley of black people, still relishing his own swag, "In Texas, if you’re packing serious heat and have a short fuse, trust me, no one dares to mess with you on the street. After all, no one wants to be blown to the sky by an unexpected hand grenade!"

"What a waste of those arms."

Allen Zhang felt a pang of regret. The General Sect Leader is always frugal. He had considered reclaiming it, but Jimmy stopped him, "A deal’s a deal. They paid the money, we deliver the goods. Consider that hand grenade a little bonus from us."

Obviously, you’re sticklers for rules... just a bit mental.

"Let’s go check out the downtown area." Allen Zhang saw that the deal was done. He’d come all this way, so it seemed like a loss not to take a trip downtown.

Then he said to Shadi, "Your stuff will probably take another hour to be dealt with. How about trying some Texas cuisine? What do you think?"

"Of course, I have no objections, but is it always so startling when you do arms deals? That was downright terrifying." Shadi was still not over the excitement. She was sitting in the car, clueless, and suddenly there was gunfire and a hand grenade was thrown!

It was too exhilarating! She was starting to like this even more than racing.

"All my previous clients were very disciplined. These black people were clearly not the best trading partners. If they had gone further, I wouldn’t have minded recycling what they ordered a second time," Allen Zhang replied.

Jimmy’s ways are just wilder, not beating around the bush and less concerned about consequences.

No choice, we’ll do it their way, they’re the locals.

Shadi smiled and said, "I like that kind of confident answer from you; it gives me a sense of security."

"Then, can you pay me the rest of the money in advance?" General Sect Leader’s mind was all about money.

"Of course." Shadi readily agreed, took out sixty thousand US dollars in cash, and as she handed it to Allen Zhang, she casually rested her hand on his shoulder, taking liberties, "The remaining twenty thousand US dollars will be paid back in Los Angeles. Do you have the time? Maybe we could collaborate further then?"

"There will be an opportunity. But what exactly do you mean by further collaboration?" Allen Zhang feigned ignorance.

Shadi’s gaze turned sultry, "Of course, it’s two people with mutual admiration, doing some very meaningful things."

"Hey, you two, there’s someone else here," Jim said, glancing at the rearview mirror, unable to resist raising his voice, "I need to rent out this car later, and I definitely don’t want the seats all sticky."

"Just drive, okay? We’re just talking," Shadi, somewhat dissatisfied with her vibe being interrupted, retorted not too pleasantly, "Nobody thinks you’re mute if you don’t speak."

"Ok." Jim shrugged helplessly and drove on, sitting ramrod straight.

Murmuring, "You guys are too anxious."

It wasn’t long before they reached the downtown area. Compared to Los Angeles, the second-largest city, Austin was definitely a step down. It seemed to lack noteworthy tourist spots, and the food was the standard steak, sausages, bread, beer.

After wandering around for half an hour, aside from the streetwalkers and tough, shirtless men carrying guns in supermarkets, there wasn’t much else to catch the eye. In the end, after a full circle, they returned to the car rental shop Jimmy ran.

Stepping out of the car, Allen Zhang also saw the vehicles parked in the rental shop.

They were all old Ford, Corolla, Chevrolet, Citroën, roughly over twenty vehicles. The place was as big as a basketball court, quite a significant operation.

The General Sect Leader could tell at a glance that these cars didn’t come from all that legal a source. Tire quality was also not guaranteed, some of them were even old models from around 2005. The import price could probably be settled for a couple of thousand US dollars.

With spare parts for assembly, a few hundred dollars could fix up a car. Then find a scalper to register the vehicle, clean it up to shine, list it under the rental business, and it would be easy to rent out.

"Jimmy, how much money do you make from this?" Allen Zhang inquired curiously.

"Oh, that depends on the flow of customers. We generally rent to tourists from out of town. The daily rental price downtown is just a few tens of US dollars. If it’s for cross-district rides, the fee is a lot higher. New tires could cost upwards of a hundred dollars each. If the engine breaks, I earn even more."

Jimmy laughed, revealing insider details, "There’s no guarantee with these old cars. At least two tires would burst every fifty kilometers. My charge for replacing a tire is 250 US dollars for compensation, not expensive, right? If they don’t want to pay, they have to get new tires fitted at a tire shop. Those tourists hate hassle, they definitely won’t argue too much with me. When they return, I swap the old parts for new ones. I can then sell those new tires and fit the old, busted ones back on. Renting out a car short term can at least bring me an income of two hundred dollars."

"The most I ever made on an engine was a 1900 dollar compensation from a Korean client. It’s all stipulated in the contract beforehand. They have to pay up; even if they tried to sue me, it would be useless."

You’re freakin’ ruthless.

Allen Zhang clicked his tongue in amazement. If someone wasn’t savvy, they’d end up in a bad way sooner or
