Chapter 204: Chapter 145 Virtual Coin_3
How audacious!!
Allen Zhang felt that the information was a bit too preposterous and deserved severe punishment and regulation!
He woke Jennifer and Dominic, asked them to cook for themselves, and set out for a brief errand, promising a quick return.
After all, he didn’t quite trust leaving that thing in the trash can; if it were picked up by one of his own people, it would be fine, but if it got into the hands of other Blacks, he’d have to reason with them again.
Don’t touch my Bitcoin!!
Allen grabbed his car keys, started the Jeep, and drove away from the bridge tunnel campsite. There wasn’t much traffic in the early morning, and he swiftly arrived at the Deer People community.
He parked by the roadside and saw a Mexican with a short tail who had arrived even earlier, already delivering goods door-to-door in the community, selling chicken wraps and tacos.
Although he didn’t particularly want to interact with them, they had an agreement to sell breakfast only on their own turf, so Allen gave a perfunctory greeting as he passed by.
Rachel Kim was handing a burrito to a white boy who had ordered it and looked at Allen in surprise, "Old Jin... no, Mr. Jin, you didn’t come here to supervise our work, did you?"
"Of course not, you guys work hard making and selling your corn pancakes legitimately, and I don’t take a cut of your money," Allen Zhang waved his hand dismissively and turned to leave.
Just a few steps away, he felt something was amiss, turned his head back, and warned, pointing at his nose: "Look at that ugly-ass face of yours, I’m so much younger than you and you’re calling me Old Jin?"
"I just look a bit mature, but I’m only 32 years old," the short-tailed dog retorted, unconvinced.
"I say I’m 18 years old, size 28," Allen mocked with a sneer: "Do you believe that?"
"You got that the wrong way around, didn’t you?"
"Get lost!"
"Okay then, " the short-tailed dog grudgingly turned and continued with his deliveries.
Walking along the community, Allen reached apartment number 256 and rummaged through the garbage bins beside it to find the USB flash drive and the cold wallet.
A hot wallet is a cryptocurrency wallet that is constantly connected to the internet, whereas a cold wallet is decentralized, stores virtual currency independently, and is never connected to the internet, generally used by those with large sums of money because it’s safer.
Keeping currency in a platform’s hot wallet for storage, if the platform suddenly closes down or locks up your coins, you’d have nowhere to cry about it. With a cold wallet, you just need to remember the key.
Allen couldn’t figure out why someone would choose to discard such a thing; wasn’t there still 0.2 Bitcoin in it? Was it deliberate or accidental? Could they have forgotten the private key and mnemonic?
Back in the car, he connected the USB drive, clicked on the folder, and found it indeed stored at least 2T of learning materials. After a few glances, Allen Zhang found it utterly dull.
The General Sect Leader, a seasoned warrior with exceptional marksmanship who always enjoyed free battles, likely found such self-entertainment frivolous; perhaps Sieg and Dave needed it more?
He unplugged it from the car, planning to donate the USB drive to someone in need later.
As Allen was driving back to the camp, he received a message from Mary.
Mary: [Location Share] Today the court is auctioning off Sunkist Bar! Guise and I have prepared $30,000 to participate in the auction. Are you ready to put up money?
Allen Zhang: I’m pretty much prepared, [bank balance] is this enough?
He included a street snapshot while waiting for the traffic light to turn green, mainly focusing the camera on the Jeep’s steering wheel.
Mary: Oh my God! Where did you get so much money!? Driving a Jeep? Hanberger! Are you that rich? You’ve always been pretending to be poor, haven’t you!
