Chapter 176: Chapter 135: Container Blind Box
The person in the passenger seat took in an oil-paper bag to inspect the amount of cash, and after confirming the accurate count, handed the man a small silver case, restarted the vehicle, and left the street with the press of the accelerator.
The entire transaction was executed rapidly, taking less than thirty seconds.
Allen Zhang glanced around and saw no cameras, and there were no pedestrians in the dead of night. He thought for a moment and spat his gum out the window, "Hit him!"
"What?" Sieg looked at him, doubting his life choices.
"Hit him slowly, just enough to knock him out or incapacitate him. It could also serve to intimidate him. Your speed control during the day was pretty good."
Allen Zhang said, "I’ll count to three. Three, two, one..."
Sieg did as instructed immediately.
Buzz!!
The pickup truck roared to life, and as the physician Han reached the intersection, he turned to face the headlights, his mind going blank.
Sieg braked sharply, executed a precise tailspin, and with a thud, the other man was sent flying two meters away, rolling several times on the ground, dazed but not brain damaged.
Allen Zhang and Sieg immediately got out of the car, picked up the silver case with the combination lock that had fallen on the ground.
Dragging the unconscious Dr. Han onto the vehicle, they started the car and left the scene, driving straight out of the city area into the wilderness of a suburban area.
After getting out of the car, Allen Zhang attempted to unlock and decode the case but to no avail. He picked up a mineral water bottle, urinated into it, and splashed it on the other man’s face.
Physician Han, disoriented, woke up. Before he could get a clear look at the person in front of him, a handgun was pressed against his forehead, the cold touch sending a shiver down his spine.
Accompanied by the sound of the safety being pulled off, he was immediately terrified.
Trembling, he said, "Don’t hurt me! Whatever you want, I’ll give it to you! I have money!!"
"What is inside this case?"
Sieg, whose face was masked, asked in a muffled voice, "What is it used for? How much is it worth?"
"It’s Adrenaline Red, a medical drug prepared for my clients. On the Black Market, this stuff sells for 1,000 US Dollars per gram. Inside the black cross-themed box in the case, there is a vial with 6 grams of Adrenaline Red, including a syringe, priced at 7,600 US Dollars," replied Dr. Han, his voice trembling.
"What did you buy it for?" asked Allen Zhang.
"My clients have a demand for it, but I cannot tell you who they are."
Dr. Han was on the verge of crying, "Please don’t hurt me. If it’s about money, I’ll give you as much as you want. There is 2,000 US Dollars in cash in the piggy bank in my apartment, which I got from bribing family members, black money. The address is 566 East Street community, and the combination for the case is 564277. I haven’t seen anything, I won’t remember your voices, sumnida..."
"..."
Allen Zhang and Sieg exchanged a glance and continued to inquire about the person he was trading with.
"I don’t know who they are either, but in our circle, many people trade with them. I can only say that it’s all above board. Wealthy people spend a lot of money to maintain their youthful appearance through private custom medical beauty packages. There are no fewer than 260 such special medical institutions in Los Angeles alone. Our hospital is small-scale; we just earn some hard-earned money and service fees. Even the mayor’s and councilors’ wives often patronize our medical beauty business."
Dr. Han was extremely frightened, pouring out everything he knew.
Seeing that they wouldn’t get much more out of him, Allen Zhang simply knocked him out with a punch.
"Fxxk!! I thought the military was already corrupt enough, but I never expected those high-ranking people in the city to be even worse! All swamp creatures."
Sieg removed his mask, spit, and cursed uncontrollably, "Is there any hope for a country like this?"
"Who are you asking me? Who?"
Allen Zhang, devoid of empathy, is the proverbial pot calling the kettle black, "Hopeless or not, isn’t there still the Lone Star Republic? You can always trust the Texas Rednecks."
Sieg rolled his eyes, "You’re right; we should break it down and rebuild. What do we do with this guy? We can’t just leave him here, right? If the coyotes come, he’s definitely done for."
"Leave him by the roadside in the poor streets; being picked up by Black is better than being picked up by coyotes. Although not everything he said is right, we have no right to judge him," Allen Zhang, still kind-hearted, decided not to kill him and just left him by the roadside to see if he was tough enough to survive.
If he’s lucky, he might just end up fully stuffed by Black. If he’s unlucky, being kidnapped by a passing van, well, that’s beyond help.
Sieging the unconscious Dr. Han back on the car, Sieg drove back to the city and randomly dropped the man off at an intersection crowded with scavengers. With the accelerator pushed down, he sped off.
Nearby, Black saw someone being thrown out of a car and immediately gathered around, looking at the clean-cut Dr. Han, assessed him, "He’s old, but still tight. Good enough to use."
Several people immediately dragged him into an alley, and soon, screams of terror echoed, "Who are you, damn it! No! No!!"
"Stay put!!" Seeing him uncooperative, Black cursed loudly; a couple of hefty slaps subdued him to whimpers.
A queue started to form.
And you, my friend, you’re the real scavengers!
Sieg continued driving towards the East Street apartment Dr. Han had mentioned.
On the car, Allen Zhang successfully opened the case with the given combination, finding a cross-themed package and a syringe in plastic wrap inside, a reinforced spiral glass vial secured by metal at both ends, containing an orange-yellow, slightly reddish viscous liquid. At first glance, it could have been mistaken for the T-virus.
