Chapter 168: Chapter 132 Life Is Just That Hard_2

"Don’t run! Put your hands up! Keep them where I can see them! Fxxk you!!" The officer swore outright.

But those Blacks obviously knew the game, didn’t resist, raised their hands, and bolted with their heads down. The officer couldn’t justifiably shoot them as they ran.

After all, the law stipulates that when the standard for firing isn’t met and the suspect makes no resistance or threatening move, shooting rashly means taking personal responsibility. The line between administrative leave and being fired is very blurry.

It mainly depends on the media’s leanings and whether your seniority is worth the union’s effort to bail you out.

But the rookies and entry-level officers were still dazed. The seasoned officers would have fired already!!

Bang bang bang!!

"Shots fired! Shots fired!!" Officer Mig and the second-grade officers unleashed a barrage on the Blacks. But perhaps out of bad luck, they only managed to hit one in the butt.

The Black cried out in pain, grasping his butt and collapsing to the ground, "Don’t hurt me! I have no weapon!"

Delayed for a moment, just the time it took to reload, the rest of the Blacks had vanished without trace.

Officer Mig, infuriated, his nose askew with rage, couldn’t believe the Blacks had escaped his grasp. The humiliation!!

He turned and furiously berated the rookies who hesitated to shoot.

"You were supposed to shoot! Rookies! He clearly had a gun! He had lethal weapons on him!! My eyes are the law!!"

Officer Mig sternly chastised the subordinates who held them back, but some things couldn’t be said too bluntly.

Immediately jumping into cars with his colleagues, he stomped on the accelerator, "Fxxk! Let’s see if you run faster or my car drives faster."

With a buzz, they gave chase.

The team of Bounty Hunters by the road looked at each other, feeling a tingling scalp watching the officers’ actions in succession, and quickly raised their hands, leaning against the roadside wall.

The officers glanced at them, saw they were all white, and promptly ignored them.

Fuming, the officers immediately got back in their cars to continue the pursuit, and notified colleagues patrolling other areas to apprehend and surround the Blacks.

Allen Zhang watched the Blacks’ escape route twist into a residential area, surprisingly slippery; he hadn’t anticipated they’d get away, assuming they’d be riddled with bullets on the spot.

He and Sieg also quickly returned to their pickup and revved up the chase.

Passing the dumbfounded Bounty Hunters, Allen Zhang also shouted, "Welcome to the West Coast! The bounty on that Black guy is ours! Go home and suck milk, stop loitering on my turf!"

"Who the hell is this guy? So arrogant?"

The Bounty Hunters were irked, but seeing the other party appeared to have guns and were not to be trifled with, and with officers nearby enforcing the law, they had to let this job go.

If they interfered and delayed the officers, taking a stray bullet, no one would defend them.

Money is important, but life is more so.

While other officers were arresting drug dealers, Sieg and Allen Zhang took a shortcut and managed to intercept the wanted criminal, McDonald, proving that two legs are no match for a car.

Even if you were Bolt, you couldn’t outrun a four-wheeled car.

"Hey! Put your hands up!! Otherwise, I’m going to shoot!!" Sieg accelerated and drove out from the crossroad, cutting off the Black man’s path, brandishing a handgun threateningly from the car window.

The Black was too breathless to speak, just ran on.

Sieg warned repeatedly to no avail, and under Allen Zhang’s instruction, steeled himself, hitting the gas and then suddenly braked hard to block the way.

The Black couldn’t dodge in time and slammed into the car, thrown back two meters. Paper Currency and a fruit knife scattered around him.

But his frame was tough; the pickup’s fender caved in, yet he got up lively and tried to flee again.

Allen Zhang got out of the car and tackled the Black to the ground, "Can’t you understand freaking human speech!"

Feeling the resistance ramp up, Allen Zhang showed no mercy, delivering two solid punches that quickly subdued the Black.

It felt like a hammer blow to the head, stars bursting in his vision.

Sieg got out to check the car damage, marveling at the Black’s physical tenacity saying, "His bones are harder than metal."

They moved the Black to the side, tied his limbs with nylon rope, and immediately notified Officer Mig via mobile. It took about fifteen minutes to get a response.

After dealing with another case, Mig decided to come personally to take custody of the Black.

He arrived quickly by car at the scene.

Getting out of the car, seeing the Black’s dim consciousness, Mig wondered if he might be dead?

He immediately shouted for his colleagues to provide humanitarian aid, and indeed, the Black was tough as nails, hurled by a car and hammered by fists, only briefly knocked out, with no broken bones and soon revived after treatment.

Officers started questioning him right away. The wanted criminal McDonald confessed to his crimes and was docilely taken away in the car.

"Aren’t we going to get sued for excessive force by this Black man?" Sieg asked as he watched the Black being led away.

"He’s on the most-wanted list for murder; you were assisting an officer with a case. Plus, you’re a veteran; as long as you’re a U.S. citizen with valid documentation, you’re obligated to assist officers in law enforcement and capturing criminals. I’ve already informed dispatch; they’ll consider the circumstances favorably." Officer Mig promptly responded.
