Chapter 111: Chapter 111 I Am the Rules

After wrapping up their business affairs, they left the milk tea shop, and the two headed their separate ways.

Around 4 p.m., Allen Zhang was leisurely patrolling his turf on his bicycle when he received a message from Jennifer.

Jennifer: A few Black people and a white lawyer have come to our camp, saying they want to talk to you.

Allen Zhang: What’s their attitude like?

Jennifer: Pretty polite. Did you take something of theirs? Did you stir up some trouble?

Allen Zhang: Keep them steady for now, and we’ll talk when Sieg and I get back.

Jennifer: No problem!

Allen quickly notified Sieg and called him to hurry home.

Sieg sent him a photo.

Clicking to enlarge the photo, it showed two people arm in arm, likely at Officer Mig’s private residence, with the other party’s injuries seemingly recovering well.

Sieg: Done! Jon’s case has been preliminarily reviewed and classified. The hearing is scheduled for tomorrow morning.

Allen Zhang: Ok, hurry back. Jon’s partners have come knocking.

Sieg: Understood. I’ve already told everyone else to rush back to the camp as much as they can.

Allen Zhang put away his phone and rode his bicycle towards the bridge tunnel encampment headquarters.

Once he arrived at the camp, he saw an unfamiliar silver Chevrolet parked by the roadside.

Several Black individuals and a middle-aged white man were sitting on portable stools, chatting and laughing with the camp’s friends. They looked like good friends, having a great time.

Among them, a bald Black man with sunglasses had a well-developed chest and strong arm muscles, and he was wearing a tactical chest rig.

Leaning against the car, he didn’t say a word, merely chewing gum while looking at the blue sky and white clouds.

He was also the first to notice Allen Zhang approaching the camp on his bicycle.

Allen Zhang became secretly alert.

Jennifer turned her head, saw Allen Zhang, and immediately waved and walked over, "Hey! Hanberger! You’re finally back. Someone’s looking for you."

Allen Zhang secured his bicycle nearby, looked at the Black individuals, and asked, "They didn’t make things difficult for you, did they? Is it only you here at the camp? Where’s Lori?"

"She’s out working with Simone on those discount coupon deals. We’ve been having a great time talking. Don’t you trust my skills?" Jennifer confidently smiled and said, "There’s no man who can resist me. Do you like my outfit?"

She blinked and tossed her hair. Her white t-shirt, printed with a pink teddy bear pattern, and slim-fit jeans perfectly showcased her waist-to-hip ratio.

"How was your time yesterday with those two Eastern Wu beauties?"

Good news stays in; bad news spreads far. Damn it, Sieg, how do you expect the General Sect Leader to face this?

Allen Zhang unfazedly replied, "It was alright."

"How do they compare to my skills?" Jennifer persisted.

Allen Zhang glanced at her rosy lips and told the truth, "Not as strong as you."

"I knew it!" This damn woman’s competitive desire. Jennifer happily punched him.

Haven’t you eaten?

Allen Zhang rubbed his arm, really wanted to say something, but still, he walked over to them seeming unbothered.

Losing is okay, but never lose face. Allen Zhang pulled out his DG sunglasses, put them on, slicked his hair back, and walked over with the stride of someone who owes nothing to anyone, "Hey! Are you guys looking for me? What’s up, fellas? My time’s worth hundreds of dollars a minute, I don’t have time to chit-chat with you, spit it out if you’ve got something to say! If not, scram off my turf."

"Hello, you must be Mr. Juan Jin?" The middle-aged white man in a suit and tie smiled politely and extended his hand, "I’m the legal advisor for Yateer Refrigeration Company."

"Yateer Refrigeration Company, what does it do? Fridge refrigeration? Or making ice cream? Sorry, never heard of it." Allen Zhang replied casually, pulled up a stool to sit on, and lounged comfortably.

Behind him, Jennifer stood demurely, massaging his shoulders and back, providing warm attention.

Allen Zhang manipulated her soft and smooth hand, while Jennifer chuckled and simply sat on his lap.

A few Black men watched, green with envy.

"We mainly deal in pork trading, not a large company, just a small workshop, not worth mentioning." The white lawyer chuckled, "We also subcontract some transportation work, collaborating with various street gangs and factories."

"Smuggling is smuggling, why talk around it as transportation business?"

Allen Zhang exposed their main business directly, waving his hand dismissively, "Don’t worry, we’re all hustling out here, I won’t snitch on you, presentation is indeed important. Honestly, we’re just homeless drifters, living hand to mouth."

"Mr. Jin, you’re too modest. How could an ordinary drifter have such an expansive turf? On our way here, we saw many of your people, and the street graffiti. We’ve also heard a bit about what the Scavenger crew does, perhaps we can cooperate more deeply in the future." The white lawyer said with a smile.

Allen Zhang chuckled uninterestedly, indulging in leg stroking, the picture of a disengaged ruler.

Seeing this, the white lawyer didn’t beat around the bush anymore and got straight to the point: "Yesterday, one of our old friends suddenly went off the radar, and after inquiring we learned that he was arrested by the police, his turf disbanded, swallowed up by you. Our boss recalled that there’s still an account unsettled with him."

"What does that have to do with me?" Allen Zhang said impatiently, "Whoever owes you money, go chase him for it, why come to me? Do you think I swiped your cash?"

The white lawyer gave a faint smile, "It’s hard to say."

Allen Zhang forced a smile, pushed Jennifer away, leaned forward, clasped his hands, and said in a low voice: "What are you implying? I can make hundreds of dollars in a minute, why would I take your money? Don’t you know whether your porky business makes hundreds of dollars per delivery?"

A Black man nearby couldn’t help but snicker when he saw Allen Zhang’s bike: "I’ve never seen a Boss live so modestly. Having to ride a bike out."

Allen Zhang looked at him calmly, "Forget about business, I’m not interested in your line of work."

"You might want to reconsider that," the white lawyer said, "Otherwise, you’ll have to compensate us for our losses, at least triple the price!!"

"Are you threatening me now?" Allen Zhang exclaimed in surprise, "Alright, you’re the bigger crowd, I’ll consider it. Just give me a moment, please."

He turned back to the RV, took out two guns, holstered one at his back and tucked the other in a handbag. Coming back, he pulled out the gun halfway there and chambered a couple of rounds with a click-click.

"Hey! Black Devil, what did you just say? I didn’t catch it clearly, please repeat it for me!"

The muzzle of the gun pointed at him, the smile on Black’s face froze instantly.

"Woah! Let’s calm down, Mr. Jin!! We didn’t mean it!!" The white lawyer was startled and stood up quickly to calm things down. Is this how you consider things?

Black was so scared he dared not breathe.

Madness, are you crazy?!

Pulling a gun in broad daylight in the middle of the city, aren’t you afraid of being reported, or caught by patrolling officers?

Maybe that’s the issue with these clods, acting without thinking! No regard for rules, always ready to flip the table at the slightest provocation.

Allen Zhang made it clear, "What rules do I need to talk about with you. You don’t have a gun, I do, that’s the only rule."
