Chapter 21: Kyurem

A deafening roar erupted from the unfathomably dark abyss of Kunlun Mountain.

Immediately afterward, the frigid mist hovering over the restricted zone grew even thicker.

Then, a massive, imposing, and bizarrely shaped figure slowly emerged from the dense fog.

In an instant, the creature that had slumbered at the bottom of the Dragon Restricted Zone’s abyss revealed itself to the world.

Its blue head was adorned with pale yellow eyes that lacked pupils.

Bright blue horns, a yellow crest, a long gray neck, and enormous clawed arms…

On the back of its towering body grew two pairs of strangely shaped blue wings… embedded with two massive ice spikes.

The moment it stepped out of the abyss, it unleashed another earth-shaking roar toward the sky!

Even the ground of the restricted zone trembled violently.

The Pokémon that had been crouching low or fleeing in panic now shivered uncontrollably.

Above, Rayquaza and Deoxys, locked in their own battle, halted their clash and turned their attention to this sudden third presence.

Originally, Chen Nian had planned to intervene in the battle, but with Kyurem’s abrupt arrival, he held back his Pokémon from joining immediately.

He was curious to see what would happen if these three Legendary Pokémon clashed.

This seemed to be Kyurem’s territory. Known for despising both humans and other Pokémon, it must be furious at being disturbed…

Kyurem stood still, its massive maw opening toward the sky.

A multicolored glow gathered within its gaping jaws.

In the next instant, a devastating Dragon Pulse tore through the night, streaking toward Deoxys.

Deoxys vanished from its original position.

Its form flickered rapidly through the air as it dodged.

Seeing Deoxys attempting to escape, Rayquaza roared and shot after it at blinding speed.

As the two clashed, Kyurem unleashed another Dragon Pulse.

Rayquaza, noticing Kyurem’s attack, retaliated without hesitation—firing a Hyper Beam straight back.

The two energy beams collided midair, triggering a cataclysmic explosion.

The shockwave generated hurricane-force winds, as if threatening to rip the very earth apart.

Kyurem, seeing its attack miss, prepared to strike again.

But then—it sensed an overwhelming danger from above.

Deoxys had repositioned itself directly overhead.

Its four flexible arms crossed in front of its chest.

A golden shockwave sliced through the night, hurtling toward Kyurem.

Before Kyurem could counter, Rayquaza suddenly slammed into it at full force.

Kyurem was sent flying, unable to dodge in time.

Yet Rayquaza didn’t press the advantage—instead, it soared back into the sky, resuming its assault on Deoxys.

Rayquaza’s maw opened, spewing a searing crimson flame.

Deoxys crossed its arms, conjuring an invisible barrier to block the attack.

Rayquaza roared, preparing another strike—but at that moment, a massive blue beam shot up from the icy mist below.

Kyurem had unleashed Sheer Cold.

Enraged by Rayquaza’s attack, Kyurem finally unleashed its true power.

In that instant, its form began to change.

A jet-engine-like structure emerged on its back.

Kyurem had transformed—into White Kyurem.

Sheer Cold missed Rayquaza, thanks to its incredible speed.

But White Kyurem didn’t give up. With a powerful flap of its wings, it shot into the sky, joining the fray.

For a time, the three Pokémon battled fiercely in the air, locked in a chaotic struggle.

Blasts of terrifying energy shot in all directions.

The Kunlun Mountains were set ablaze.

Countless Pokémon and humans were caught in the crossfire.

Even the powerful trainers who had rushed to the scene were frozen in fear.

“T-This is impossible!”

“W-What are these things?!”

“H-How can they be this strong…?”

“Run! This level of battle is way beyond us!”

Thanks to an emergency alert from the Pokémon League, residents near the outskirts of Kunlun’s restricted zone had already begun evacuating.

Luckily, they had acted quickly—because the battle between the three Pokémon had escalated, spilling beyond the restricted zone.

Watching the three terrifying Pokémon tear into each other, humans panicked!

Countless people trembled under the overwhelming pressure.

At one point, a mountain peak was nearly flattened by a single beam from Kyurem.

Most of the town’s residents had evacuated—but on the rooftop of a hotel, one lone figure remained.

It was Jiang Shuying.

She had received the hotel’s evacuation notice but chose not to leave.

She had promised Chen Nian she would stay.

And so, she had left her suite and returned to the hotel’s open-air terrace, waiting for him.
