Chapter 14: You’ll Definitely Never Find a Girlfriend

Feeling Dragonite’s thoughts, Chen Nian was utterly speechless.

Originally, based on the Dragonite leader’s description, he had assumed this Dragonite would be proud and aloof. But now? Turns out, this guy had absolutely no ambition beyond this.

Chen Nian couldn’t be bothered to deal with him anymore. He lay back on the grass, closing his eyes for a quick nap.

Seeing that his master didn’t seem interested in talking, Dragonite also plopped down beside him. Scratching his round belly with a claw, he copied Chen Nian and dozed off.

……

About an hour later, Jiang Shuying finally returned, cradling the Mini Dragon in her arms.

Her face was now lit up with excitement and joy, clearly, she had succeeded in winning the little one’s approval.

“Chen Nian, I… I did it!”

“Thank you. If it weren’t for you, I really wouldn’t have known what to do!”

“I—”

“You succeeded, big deal. Look at how worked up you’re getting. I always thought the famous Jiang Shuying was some untouchable goddess, but turns out, you’re just like every other girl…”

Hearing his sharp tongue strike again, Jiang Shuying rolled her eyes at him.

Her gaze seemed to say, “This young lady can’t be bothered with a blockhead like you!”

……

Holding Mini Dragon happily for a while longer, she eventually turned to Chen Nian with an embarrassed request.

“Chen Nian… can you lend me a Poké Ball?”

“A Poké Ball? You didn’t bring one?”

“I… I had some in my backpack, but I lost it when I was running away…”

She stuck out her tongue slightly, lowering her head sheepishly.

Without hesitation, Chen Nian pulled out a Poké Ball and tossed it to her.

“Now you owe me even more.”

“Better start thinking about how you’re going to pay me back…”

Jiang Shuying looked at him, a glimmer of something bright flashing in her eyes.

At that moment, she murmured something so softly that only she could hear it:

“I’ll pay you back… If I can’t, then I’ll just spend my whole life doing it…”

……

“What did you say?”

“N-Nothing! I’ll just go ahead and catch Mini Dragon now.”

Afraid he might have noticed something, she hastily threw the Poké Ball, sealing the little dragon inside.

“Now… should we head back?”

“Yeah, let’s go.”

“But before we leave, we should say goodbye to the Dragonite leader.”

“Okay, I’ll follow your lead…”

Jiang Shuying nodded obediently, and the two made their way toward the Dragonite leader’s location.

……

Ten minutes later, a plump Dragonite soared into the sky, carrying Chen Nian and Jiang Shuying on its back.

After bidding farewell to the Dragonite leader—and letting both Dragonite and Mini Dragon say their goodbyes to their homeland—Chen Nian decided it was time to return.

The Dragon Forbidden Zone was vast, its scenery breathtakingly beautiful.

Compared to the miserable state she had been in when they arrived, Jiang Shuying’s face was now filled with sweet, joyful smiles on the way back.

She didn’t even complain when Chen Nian kept his hands resting on her slender waist and smooth thighs the entire time.

“Chen Nian, look… that mountain peak is so tall! Did you come down from there earlier?”

“Yeah. Never expected that right after descending, I’d run into some clueless girl being chased down. And now? Not only did I save her, but I even got her a Pokémon. Tell me, am I just too nice for my own good?”

Hearing him call her “clueless,” Jiang Shuying pouted and huffed lightly.

“Chen Nian, if you keep acting like this, you’ll never find a girlfriend…”

Chen Nian scoffed. “A girlfriend? Are they as good as Pokémon?”

Jiang Shuying was stunned by his response.

“You… you’re definitely going to die single!!”

With that, she turned her head away angrily, completely done with this dense man.

How could he say something like “girlfriends aren’t as good as Pokémon”? No wonder he’s doomed to stay single forever!

Seeing that she had stopped talking, Chen Nian muttered a few things to himself before directing Dragonite toward the outskirts of Kunlun.

The sun had already set, and the forbidden zone was now shrouded in mist.

The entire forest grew quiet, though even from the air, Chen Nian could occasionally hear rustling sounds.

Pokémon that thrived in darkness were beginning to emerge, and in the distance, bursts of energy beams lit up the sky, signs of battles between wild Pokémon.

Chen Nian had no interest in meddling. By now, they were nearing the outer edges, and all he wanted was to reach the nearest town and rest.

His psychic senses remained active, alert for any sudden dangers.

But just as they were about to leave the forbidden zone, Chen Nian suddenly patted Dragonite’s back.

“Stop for a second.”

Hearing his command, Dragonite halted mid-air, looking around suspiciously for any signs of trouble.
