Amber Sword -
Chapter 74 - 74 30 Scenes Heroic Card Set
74: 30 Scenes Heroic Card Set 74: 30 Scenes Heroic Card Set Summoning the Holy Sword?
There were many swords bearing the name of the Holy Sword in Vaun, like the Wind Crown Nodaxis, the Endless Sky Sword, and the Mountain’s Holy Sword ‘Extreme,’ as well as the only one ever obtained by a player—Hu Po.
However, in Brand’s mind, these legendary names had nothing to do with him.
Is this a spell?
He knew that the Priest had a low-level Light Magic spell called Holy Sword Skill, but that spell had a series of pure offensive runes and clearly had nothing to do with summoning or calling.
In the game, words imbued with magic power were taken very seriously and could not be arbitrarily altered or combined.
But regardless of what this summoning of the Holy Sword was, Brand knew that any spell available for players to use in the game had no severe side effects at most— the worst consequence would simply be overexertion of spiritual power, which wouldn’t cause splitting headaches, only mild mental fatigue at the most.
Thus, with this in mind, he steadied his heart and gave the command to agree to summon the Holy Sword.
After all, anyone would take a no-loss deal, and besides, he didn’t rule out the hope of a desperate move paying off.
Brand slowed down slightly, and in that moment, the Magic Tree People manipulated two serpent vines to strike at him, but he quickly crouched and swung his treasure sword upward.
A silver arc flashed, and the two foul-smelling serpent vines disintegrated into ashes in mid-air.
Then our protagonist, without losing momentum, pushed off the ground with one hand, accelerating towards the Magic Tree People.
Just as he was about to make a further move, the faint blue light screen projected onto his retinas changed:
“Warrior’s Path, unlocked.”
“Heroic Card Set, Chapter II, Knight—Holy Sword.”
“As this is the first time the character is activating the Fate Card Deck, the guidance system is loading.”
A series of ghostly text lines appeared and quickly disappeared.
“Holy Sword, the sword symbolizing the Knight’s dedication and purity—”
“Effect: Pay 6 Earth Element points from the Element Pool to summon the Holy Sword.
Summoning conditions have been met.
Please display the card, imprint your thumb on the center of the Destiny Holy Rune, and ignite the Holy Sword with the magic triangle formed by your thumb and forefinger—”
Brand immediately found himself almost unable to attack due to these disruptions.
His movements faltered slightly, and he was pushed back by the Magic Tree People’s retracted vines.
He cursed under his breath, knowing that his chances were slim even without the interference.
He couldn’t help but take a deep breath and glance back at Frey, who was struggling to climb to the giant boulder, not far off now.
Her light brown ponytail bobbed up and down with her efforts, momentarily distracting Brand.
His attention then subtly shifted in another direction.
The young Magic Tree People were still a step slower below, so the future Valkyrie seemed to be in no immediate danger.
However, the situation for Romantic didn’t look good, as she had completely stopped climbing, struggling to catch her breath below.
Meanwhile, Brand had already exchanged blows with the Magic Tree People.
Neither side gained much advantage, but the offspring of the Golden Magic Tree before him had realized that this human wasn’t as formidable as expected, only fearing the Elf Sword in his hand.
Brand was aware of this too.
He gripped the sword tighter, and at that moment, the final prompt flashed across his retina: Display the card?
Brand blinked in surprise but quickly thought of the card in his pocket, his intuition guiding him as he promptly pulled it out.
So this Holy Rune is called the Destiny Holy Rune.
Why haven’t I heard of it before?
Brand couldn’t help but feel a bit puzzled, but despite this, he pressed his thumb onto it.
“Heroic Card Set, Chapter II, Knight—Holy Sword, lock-in successful.”
A blinding black beam of light shot out.
The piercing magic wave felt like a sharp sword thrust into the brains of every creature nearby, causing even the adult Magic Tree People to howl in agony.
This psychic tremor also caused Frey and Romantic to both pause, one turning her head back, the other looking up towards Brand.
They both saw the card Brand was holding high in his hand vanish in a ripple of black light.
“Brand, your card, your card disappeared!” Miss Merchant shouted anxiously, her eyes sharp despite the distance of at least fifty meters between her and Brand.
