Chapter 55: Who is Dami?

She couldn’t believe what she was seeing, Enoch and Scarlet on the bed, tightly holding onto each other. It was a funny yet romantic scene, they looked like real couples.

Aurora smiled at how perfect they looked, despite being total strangers to each other. If only Scarlet was ready to settle down with a man.

She giggled softly and started tracing her steps toward the door to exit the room quietly.

She had nothing to worry about, Scarlet was in perfect hands. ’Enoch’s hands,’ she thought and carefully exited the room. Unfortunately, Aurora wasn’t able to slam the door without making any noise thereby waking Scarlet up.

Slowly opening her eyes, Scarlet frowned when a sudden headache hit her head. She tried to move but felt a strong force holding her down.

Looking beside her, she met with Enoch’s sleeping peaceful face. Their lips were almost touching as their faces were so close to each other.

She blinked twice wondering if she was imagining things because she hadn’t been with a man in ages. Unless she was crazy, why would Enoch be in bed with her?

He didn’t disappear, so she dropped her hand on his cheeks making Enoch instinctively open his eyes upon her touch.

They both gazed at each other, Scarlet thinking she was dreaming and Enoch treasuring the most sweetest morning view in his front.

"Are you completely sober?" He asked, waking her up from her thoughts.

"Ahhh," she screamed when she realized he was real and yanked herself away from him, making her fall to the ground.

Rubbing her buttocks after the harsh fall, she stood up and moved away from the bed.

Enoch stood on the opposite side of the bed, his eyes showing concern as they darted over her.

Worriedly he asked, "Are you okay?" Scarlet was almost fooled by his act. If she didn’t know what kind of man he was, she might have fallen for it.

"Why are we waking up in the same bed? Did you rape me?" Without bothering to find out how they ended up there, she accused him of molesting her.

"I did not rape you. Are you okay?" He inquired about her well-being after the fall. Scarlet scoffed and glared at him, almost threatening to harm him. His pretense of concern disgusted her.

"Stop with your act and tell me why we woke up on the same bed?" She said sternly, eyeing him with disdain. She found it audacious of him to appear in front of her.

"I only wanted to make sure you are okay. I apologize for intruding on your privacy," he said, sounding sincere, but Scarlet laughed meaningfully.

"I don’t care about your intentions. Just stay away from me. If you come near me again with the excuse of watching out for me, I might stab you to death!" Her eyes blazed with anger as she threatened him. The very thought of him touching her infuriated her.

Enoch became speechless, unsure of what to say. Her hatred for him hadn’t diminished over the years. Would Scarlet ever forgive him? He knew she was capable of following through with her threats.

"Would you please listen to me?" He asked, attempting to approach her, but she waved a hand, signaling him to stop.

"Why the hell were you on my bed?" Her mood turned sour with each passing second of his presence in the room.

"You were drunk last night and..." He began, but she cut him off, scoffing at his words.

"Enough with the lies! Don’t you ever get tired of it?" She asked, annoyed by his excuses. She had managed to move on after he left, so why did he have to come back?

"Scar..." Before he could finish saying her name, she warned, "Don’t you dare utter my name in that filthy mouth of yours. And this is my final warning, don’t ever appear in front of me again!"

She firmly stated that he should never appear in front of her again and he knew she meant it.

Enoch knew nothing would make her listen to him at that point, so he smiled and remarked, "I am happy to see you are still the same energetic Scarlet I knew five years ago."

"Of course, I have always been the same, unlike a certain murderer!" She yelled, emphasizing the word ’murderer’ to convey her anger and pain.

Tears welled up in her eyes as she spoke those words, feeling immense pain. Realizing how emotional she was becoming, she turned her back to him and ordered, "Leave!"

Enoch had many things to say and clarify, but Scarlet had already made it clear that it was over. Quietly, he left her room and leaned against the door.

Scarlet fell to the ground and began sobbing uncontrollably as the door to the room was slammed shut. She had been doing fine until he reappeared in her life as if nothing had happened.

He had lied to her, hurt her, broken her, and taken away the most precious thing from her. He was a pathetic fool.

Enoch, still at the entrance of the door, clenched his fists in anger as he heard her sobbing. He was the one who had caused her so much pain, and now he was doing it again. The radiant smile he saw when he returned had been replaced with pain.

If dying could bring things back to normal, he would gladly die for her. He couldn’t bear to appear in front of her anymore, they were now complete strangers. He decided to assign a guard for her whenever necessary.

She needed someone who could make her happy.

Meanwhile, in the mansion’s garden, Theresa was growing impatient waiting for Aurora to arrive. She and Damien had skipped breakfast together, leading Theresa to wonder if Aurora was ready for their relationship.

"Oh my, I thought you were kidnapped!" Theresa exclaimed when she finally spotted Aurora.

"Sorry, it was Dami..." Aurora trailed off, stopping herself from spilling the beans.

"Who is Dami?" Theresa asked.
