Alpha Damien's Breeder: The first night -
Chapter 162: Mr company
Chapter 162: Mr company
Aurora watched has the woman was dragged away, her mind still going over what had just happened. She remembered wanting to confront that woman, but how did she get to the floor?
Something wasn’t right and she could feel it, that sudden urge to dominate...to express one’s power surged over her earlier, and she still didn’t know why it happened.
Was she still not yet completely healed? If not, could the woman know about what happened to her? Then, she must persuade Damien not to touch her until she got her answer.
"Aurora!!" Damien called, having tapped on her shoulder thrice before finally getting her attention. He didn’t entirely believe the woman’s words, but something seemed off about the whole situation.
As much as the woman might be dissatisfied with Aurora, she wouldn’t risk hurting her publicly. Not when he was so close to Aurora, and could execute her immediately for any harm made on Aurora.
"I am sorry," gathering herself, she apologized for zoning off.
"It’s fine, we have to leave now." Assuring her, he reminded her of their journey, and helped her up. It was when he made her stand that he realized that she was only in her undergarment. Somehow, it made him want to tease her but he held himself back and said, "Put on some clothes, I will be waiting for you outside." Excusing himself for her to get dressed.
"I...ahhhh," she was about to call him back but halted when she saw what she was wearing. She hadn’t even realized she was half naked until he instructed her to wear clothes. Covering her chest, she screamed and went to push him out of the room.
"What? I was being a gentleman by leaving willingly." He said, smirking mischievously. She was tempting him into teasing her, but he knew they wouldn’t leave the room today if he doesn’t leave now.
"Get out!" She yelled at him, causing him to depart before she busted. He would love to see her red face, but he was going to endure it until they got to the hill.
"Fine," he said, walking away from her room, chuckling along the way only for his expression to be replaced with a frown when he thought of that woman. Could what she said be right? If she was right, he hoped those witches hadn’t tampered with her soul or he was going to skin them alive. Those Disgusting beings!
While he walked towards his study room, he met Enoch on the way and he knew the latter had already heard about what happened. So much for someone who didn’t show interest in his business earlier.
"I got it sorted out," Damien relayed before Enoch could start questioning him. He wanted to save himself from unnecessary scoldings. He knew locking those women up wasn’t the best solution, especially since they caused physical harm but he found the situation suspicious and didn’t want to make any rash decision yet.
"Indeed. Are you really gonna lock them up in a room?" He asked, and Damien almost rolled his eyes. Seriously, he never failed to meet his expectations.
"Could we do this later? I have somewhere to be?" Ignoring his question, he said.
"Alpha Lucas from Blood Moon pack is coming here for a visit, I wanted to relay this." Enoch disclosed, surprising Damien. Alpha Lucas was paying him a visit on his own will, which seemed off. That Alpha was known for his ego, and everyone knew of how distant he became from the world after finding his mate.
If he was paying a visit, then he was in a dilemma and needed help, or he must have heard of his return and wanted to check out how he was doing. They couldn’t be considered as friends, but they went to the same academy in the human world that lasted for 6 months.
Damien, being a workaholic one wanted human knowledge to expand his horizon, it wasn’t surprising that he attended a human academy. The surprising one was Alpha Lucas who barely even ruled his pack without his mother’s orders.
It was said that out of the many wives his father married, his mother managed to cunningly secure the position of Alpha for him. Some say he respects his mother because of her significance in his current position, while some say he is a puppet.
As for Damien, he sees the man rather as someone who makes others believe he is on their side, but abandons them when they grow useless. He probably hasn’t gotten rid of his mother because she still has something useful for him.
Damien was never fond of him, if it wasn’t for the duty before emotions rule, he wouldn’t have to keep their relationship intact.
"Did he say why?" Damien asked.
"You think he would tell such a lowly beta like me?" Sarcastically, Enoch asked, snorting to show how funny he found Damien’s question.
"Find out if possible, I don’t cancel ceremonies for useless meetings, " expressing discomfort, Damien ordered.
"Alright," Enoch answered.
"If that’s all, then have a nice day, if possible." Damien teased.
"Don’t be so childish about it, I have got a mate." Enoch said, staring blatantly at the annoying man. He was literally bragging about going on a picnic with his mate to someone who had a mate.
"But I get to take her out unlike a particular loner," Damien taunted.
"Well, thanks to some arrogant man, I don’t get to have holidays." Enoch retorted, referring to Damien. If he wasn’t so busy doing his beta job, they wouldn’t even be having this conversation. But the first rule of service in their pack was, duty before emotions.
"That arrogant man kept you company while you were too stupid to claim your mate." Damien was ready to go on and on, but Enoch was growing tired of the endless banter.
"Alright, Mr Company, have a good day." He said and immediately turned his back to leave, shutting off his mindlink in case Damien tried to tease him privately.
"Coward!" Damien called, after realizing he shut off his mindlink.
