Xiao’er disguised herself as Yan Zi, while regarding Yan Zi, Xiao’er had already drugged her drink with an effective sleeping pill hidden in her space. Yan Zi would continue to sleep until the day after tomorrow morning.

Yan Zi was the maid of Shangguan Wanru, and she had her own independent room. Therefore, when Xiao’er walked around pretending as her, others wouldn’t know that the real Yan Zi was still asleep.

Upon checking that her disguise was flawless, Xiao’er glanced at Zhuan’er. She had initially intended to ask Bai Tian to comfort Zhuan’er if he cried, but since they had been recently retreating in solitude, she decided that a crying child was not important enough to disturb them. So she made use of Yan Zi’s identity and exited the space continuum.

Unbeknownst to Xiao’er, as soon as she left the space, a red light quickly flashed across a jade pendant on Zhuan’er.

Shangguan Wanru was anxiously waiting in the room. When she heard three knocks on the door, she hastily opened it.

Shangguan Ruixi had come to take Shangguan Wanru away. Without wasting any words, he urged: "Hurry, if we delay any longer, the servants in the mansion will wake up."

Shangguan Wanru nodded and followed him out.

Shangguan Xuanyi was already waiting in the tricycle. The two swiftly got on board and only then did Shangguan Xuanyi start moving towards the back door in a relaxed and unhurried manner as if carrying out a regular grocery shopping trip.

The three of them arrived at the back door, where the gatekeeper looked at them with surprise and asked: "Why are you leaving fifteen minutes earlier than usual today?"

Lowering his voice, Shangguan Ruixi replied: "We have more purchases today. We returned late yesterday and got fined for half a month’s worth of wages. If we don’t leave early today, we’ll lose our entire month’s wages!"

The gatekeeper did not suspect anything upon hearing this. It made sense that being penalized would make them more diligent. Indeed, they had returned half an hour later than usual yesterday, probably shirking off work, and well-deserving of the penalty!

The gatekeeper opened the door and let them out.

Once they exited the palace of Prince Xuan, Shangguan Xuanyi trudged onward calmly, imitating the shoppers’ strides.

The gatekeeper shook his head as he watched them depart: "They have been fined and yet, they still aren’t efficient."

After making this comment, he closed the gate again.

The sky gradually brightened.

Upon leaving the space, Xiao’er locked the door of Yan Zi’s room along the way and speedily moved towards the back gate.

The palace servants started to stir. Everyone who saw her greeted her.

"Sister Yan Zi, why are you up so early today?"

Xiao’er didn’t know how Yan Zi would normally respond to these people, so she simply nodded and remained silent.

No one minded her as they were used to Yan Zi’s aloof demeanor since she was a chief maid serving by their master’s side.

Ideally, Xiao’er should leave the palace using Yan Zi’s identity before Ziwan is discovered. Once Ziwan is discovered, they will certainly report it to Shangguan Wanru immediately, who will realize that not only Shangguan Wanru is missing, but also the prince. The entire mansion would be placed under tight surveillance, with Gong Qinghua’s people stationed here issuing the order: No one is allowed to leave!

Xiao’er walked quickly and soon saw the back door.

However, her hearing was exceptional, even better than that of the average person, and she heard the loud shouting of the palace servants.

Xiao’er had accurately assumed that the gatekeeper’s crucial position would certainly have been bought out by Gong Qinghua. Hence, her bold statement was just to urge him to open the gate as quickly as possible.

Originally, the gatekeeper had deemed Xiao’er’s stride to indicate some kind of urgency. Hearing the increasing commotion inside the Palace, he swiftly opened the door.

Upon hearing the voices behind her drawing closer, the moment the door opened, Xiao’er dashed out without any hesitation.

"Stop her!" a voice ordered from behind Xiao’er, full of desperation.

After running a distance away, Xiao’er turned back smugly: "Do you really think you can stop me now that I’m already out?"

Xiao’er quickly employed her Qinggong skills to escape, but noticed two people blocking her path. She swiftly turned around, only to find two more men dressed in black standing like mountains behind her.

She had celebrated too early! Xiao’er had forgotten about Gong Qinghua’s spies outside the palace!

Did they really think that only four of them could stop her? They were truly overestimating themselves and underestimating her.

Xiao’er gave a mocking smile and threw a black object onto the ground, causing a burst of yellow smoke to engulf her.

Before the four men could react to the smokescreen, Xiao’er swiftly unleashed four poisonous needles at them and quickly slipped away using her Qinggong skills.

Once the smoke cleared, only four men dressed in black lay on the ground.

Once Shangguan Xuanyi was out of Gong Qinghua’s line of sight, he drove the tricycle swiftly to a predetermined location where a carriage was parked. They quickly climbed aboard and Zhao Yong took over the reins to drive away.

The three of them stripped off their clothes inside the carriage, and then took off their facial disguises.

"Where is Xiao’er? Why isn’t she here yet?" Shangguan Wanru couldn’t help but worry as she saw that Xiao’er was not in the carriage. She feared that Xiao’er and her child were still stuck in the palace.

"Don’t worry, we will wait for her outside the city as planned," someone reassured her.

Just as they were nearing the city gate, a fast horse galloped past them.

""Our cover has been blown, we can’t leave the city for now,"" Shangguan Xuanyi pulled back the curtain and watched the horse gallop away.

Shangguan Wanru turned pale upon hearing this. Were they not escaping? Was her Zhuan’er captured?

Shangguan Ruixi’s eyebrows furrowed deeply. It had been discovered so soon, and the city gates were sealed off almost immediately. It seemed that Gong Qinghua had anticipated their rescue mission.
