All Heavenly destiny reduced to ashes -
Chapter 61 - 61 61 Fanged Pig Dang Kang
61: Chapter 61 Fanged Pig Dang Kang 61: Chapter 61 Fanged Pig Dang Kang “Two worlds, advancing together.”
This was the strategy An Jing and Sword Spirit had devised after their discussion, “If danger arises in the Embracing the Void realm, retreat to the other world.
The reverse is also true.”
“In the Embracing the Void realm, I need to escape possible pursuit from the Heaven’s Will Demon Sect, the searches of the Red Armored Guards, and potential tracking by the Heavenly Demon.”
“I need to quickly enhance my strength, leave the deep mountains, return to the towns within the Da Chen realm, change my identity, and hide.”
“And in the other world, I must swiftly head to populated areas to gather information, determine the local language, observe their behaviors, mimic their customs, and then conceal my identity to blend in.”
“I also have a piece of Spirit Jade on me, and an Ink Jade Skull that can be used for trade.
It’s just that I don’t know their value, but settling down temporarily shouldn’t be a problem.”
“However, weapons in the other world are quite dangerous too, those gunpowder weapons and Spiritual Light guns…
I must move with extreme caution.”
“If possible…
should I capture someone alive first?”
“Or perhaps see the opportunity to help the locals…”
The plan was set and all that was left to do was to wait for the rain to stop.
“What a pity.”
Peering out at the rolling gray-purple rain clouds from the cave entrance, An Jing touched his stomach and said regretfully, “I was actually planning to go out into the mountain forest to see if I could find something to eat, but now it looks like I might starve…
Hm?”
Suddenly, An Jing heard the ‘clopping’ of hooves not far away, coming from a distance and heading toward the cave.
The sound of hooves, mingled with the noise of rain and thunder, wasn’t clear, but An Jing, who had embarked on the cultivation path, could distinctly capture it; he immediately rose, activated Mysterious Steps, and silently hid behind a large rock at the cave entrance.
Then, he saw two creatures, like pigs but not quite pigs, each bearing two large tusks, rushing through the acid rain and hiding in the cave.
These Fanged Pigs were about three and a half feet tall, with tough black-brown fur that even the evil Qi acid rain couldn’t corrode.
Even so, the two Fanged Pigs didn’t want to be washed by the acid rain.
The first thing they did after entering the cave was to shake their bodies, throwing off the corrosive droplets, and display their strong muscles and fat.
“Wow, this meat.”
An Jing quietly praised in his mind, his eyes shimmering while subconsciously swallowing his saliva, “I didn’t expect to have such good luck…”
“Is this what Sword Spirit meant by ‘luck wouldn’t be bad’?”
“It’s Dang Kang.”
In the Divine Sea, Sword Spirit quickly recognized the true nature of these exotic beasts, “They are a kind of Auspicious Beast, their innate ability can accelerate the growth of plants and crops and also manipulate Spirit Plants.
During our time, they were protected as Auspicious Beasts.”
“These two have a thin bloodline, so they can only be considered small Spirit Beasts—even so, their strength is not weak, a common Inner Breath Martial Artist really couldn’t handle them.”
“This is your ‘Fate Pattern’; even with the best luck, you need to fight and hunt to earn the right to your gains.”
“That’s how it should be, but…
Sword Spirit.”
Forget what Auspicious Beast or Dang Kang or Fanged Swine these were, An Jing had only one simple thought in mind at the moment: “Can it be eaten?”
“If so, is it tasty?
How to eat it?”
Sword Spirit responded succinctly, “Yes.
Tasty.
Roast it.”
“Understood.”
Thus, while the two Fanged Pigs were still shaking off the acid rain from their bodies.
Behind the rocks, a famished red-eyed An Jing had already silently clenched the jade dagger, condensing a Blood Qi Fiend Sword.
A quarter of an hour later, An Jing had already set up a simple campfire.
An Jing dealt with the two Fanged Pigs in just three breaths.
On the first breath, he leapt out from behind a large rock using Mysterious Steps and then burst forth with Piercing Armor True Strength; with one sword strike, he pierced through the eye socket of the Fanged Pig on the left, straight into its brain.
On the second breath, the other Fanged Pig, sensing An Jing’s attack, emitted a ‘Dang Kang’-like cry.
As the divine cry of the beast reverberated, several dark brown plant roots burst out from the back of the already dead Fanged Pig, reaching towards An Jing’s arms and ankles to ensnare him.
On the third breath, An Jing pushed off with the tip of his foot, his body seemingly weightless, stepping lightly over the roots, and the Fiend Sword in his hand traced an arc in midair, slicing through the neck of the second Fanged Pig as it charged towards him.
As An Jing landed, the head of the second Fanged Pig also fell, bursting forth with gushes of deep purple blood.
“Your martial skills have reached perfection, nearly flawless like a Grandmaster.”
After seeing An Jing effortlessly take down the two Fanged Pigs, whose strength was about that of an average Inner Breath, which could even give an entire martial artist hunting team a headache, the Sword Spirit could not help but praise him, “An average Inner Breath martial artist facing you would simply be slaughtered.”
“An Jing, were you some kind of martial arts Grandmaster or a Sword Immortal in your past life?”
“My martial skills are just so-so; it’s just that the ‘Imperial Heaven Technique’ is extremely suitable for ambush assassinations,” An Jing dismissed the sword in his hand, beginning to use the jade dagger to cut the flesh of the Fanged Pig.
While deboning and removing the innards, An Jing explained, “Abyssal Stance for lurking and holding breath, Mysterious Steps for sudden assaults, explosive use of true strength, and with the Fate Pattern’s ‘Coalescing Qi into Soldiers’ Divine Skill, I have a sword that can slice through iron like mud.
Even against an Inner Strength foe, I’m confident in my assassination skills.”
“Just two mere Fanged Pigs with auspicious beast bloodlines, could they be harder to kill than the Master of the Medicine Manor?”
As for his past life, An Jing was also somewhat unsure, “Honestly, are my martial skills really that good?
I always felt that even ordinary people could achieve this level…
In the martial arts school, couldn’t all the younger disciples easily manage this?”
“Maybe even faster than me; my talent in martial arts is quite ordinary.”
“Ordinary?” the Sword Spirit retorted, “Exactly what kind of standard are you comparing yourself with, that you also consider your level ordinary?”
“I don’t remember.”
With both the amnesic sword and the amnesic person discussing the past, the result could only be inconclusive, but before the topic ended, An Jing had already skillfully gutted one entire Fanged Pig.
Following that was the deboning and removing of innards.
An Jing methodically removed the choicest cuts: the pork back, the pork leg, and the pork lard from the Fanged Pig.
The pork back, being the back spine meat, is the most tender for roasting; the pork leg, once deboned, is easy to smoke and carry as reserve food; and the pork lard from the waist can be refined and stored as a fat reserve.
As for the other organs and scraps of meat, An Jing had neither the time nor enough carrying capacity to take them with him, so he left them aside.
“Regardless, an ordinary person definitely wouldn’t be as adept as you,” observed the Sword Spirit carefully throughout the process, leading An Jing, who glanced at his own hands, to feel the same, “Then again, how did I acquire these skills?”
It didn’t matter anymore.
After removing the innards and arranging the pork meat, An Jing built a stone stove using rocks from around the cave, used his own Fire Seed and fuel to start a fire, and began roasting the meat.
The flesh of the Fanged Pig was a reddish-purple color, emitting a special, clear fragrance, which became even fresher after being bled.
While skinning it, An Jing noticed that the skin on the Fanged Pig’s back was not tough but quite soft, only having a unique type of plant rootstock parasitically entwined in its back.
These interwoven roots formed a thick layer of tough plant armor capable of blocking corrosive rain.
This armor was alive; even now, it was slowly writhing.
This Fanged Pig, due to its ancestral bloodline, possessed the special ability to control plants and could use its cries to control them.
If it had been in the jungle, even An Jing would have found it troublesome, but fortunately, the creature had fled into a plant-free cave to avoid the acid rain caused by the descent of warships.
So only the symbiotic plants on its back were controllable.
