Chapter 256: Chapter 247 Source Stone
"The Emperor Fallen Mountain Range was the burial ground of the Great Emperor. It was rumored to contain a mysterious ’Desolate Power.’ Those who ventured in found their lifespans dwindling. According to ancient texts, two hundred thousand years ago, the Saint King Xuanyuan Hao, who bore a Sacred Body, ventured into it once. Although he emerged unscathed, he became delirious, spending millennia in madness before mysteriously disappearing," Mo Wangchen said, his gaze turning to the Piaomiao Saint Venerable. "Whether there is a Holy Medicine within the Emperor Fallen Mountain Range that can repair the Spirit Sea is mere rumor. Even if it exists, I’m afraid it’s fraught with danger. You..."
The Piaomiao Saint Venerable shook his head, interrupting Mo Wangchen’s words. "My lifespan is almost exhausted, and the lineage of Piaomiao Palace is single, yet I’ve finally found someone like you with a Divine King Body. No matter what, I must give it a try."
Mo Wangchen fell silent, knowing there was no way his persuasion would work.
"Before leaving, I will set up a Great Formation. Even in my absence, no one will easily enter Piaomiao Palace. Remember, do not venture outside before I return; the Zhou Family is probably already mad, for I have killed so many of them. Also, never let anyone know about Yaoyao’s Nine Revolutions Body," the Piaomiao Saint Venerable reminded.
Mo Wangchen nodded without speaking.
In the following days, due to his frail body, Mo Wangchen could not venture out, with only Yaoyao by his side. He rarely saw the Piaomiao Saint Venerable.
Until the fifth day, when the Piaomiao Saint Venerable appeared again, he seemed even more frail. As he had said, his lifespan was running out, and before the end, he intended to make a trip to the Emperor Fallen Mountain Range, no matter what!
...
The Piaomiao Saint Venerable departed, and the entire Piaomiao Palace seemed devoid of life, lacking its former vibrance.
Days later, Mo Wangchen could finally get out of bed and move around. He kept Yaoyao company as they wandered within Piaomiao Palace.
After becoming the Saint Heir, Mo Wangchen spent almost every day in cultivation, leaving many places unexplored.
"The Spirit Sea, the source of the spirit in the human body, is shattered now. Even with my past life’s Alchemy Dao Skill, I’ve never heard of any pill that could repair the Spirit Sea. If one exists, it’s beyond the scope of a Ninth Grade Pill Master’s ability..."
Mo Wangchen murmured to himself, sighing inwardly. Despite his vast knowledge of Alchemy Dao from his past life, it was useless now.
Moreover, now that his cultivation was entirely lost, although his perception remained, without the support of cultivation, he could not even refine a First Grade Pill.
"Big brother, come here quickly!"
Not far away, Yaoyao suddenly called out, her little hand waving at Mo Wangchen with a gleeful smile on her face.
Mo Wangchen was momentarily stunned because, at that moment, behind Yaoyao, he saw a dilapidated hall. The gate had long collapsed, making the entire hall look like a ruin, exuding a sense of having withstood the vicissitudes of time.
"Big brother, when you weren’t here before, Yaoyao came here to play and saw many beautiful stones inside," Yaoyao pointed to the hall, giggling.
Mo Wangchen shook his head with a wry smile, thinking children were so innocent, even some stones could make her so happy.
"This place is too dirty, with dust everywhere. Let’s go back. Don’t run around aimlessly in the future, understand?" Mo Wangchen patted her little head, smiling.
"Oh..."
Hearing this, Yaoyao seemed unhappy, responding with an "Oh," as if she’d done something wrong and was being reprimanded by an adult.
"Alright, Yaoyao, wait here. Big brother will go get those beautiful stones for you, okay?" Mo Wangchen said helplessly, having no choice but to appease Yaoyao.
Under Yaoyao’s gaze, he walked towards the collapsed hall entrance. The gate, made of giant stones, had one side caved in, leaning awkwardly in the doorway, effectively blocking the path.
Fortunately, the entrance was large, and Mo Wangchen only needed to stoop slightly to enter.
"Cough, cough..."
As he stepped inside, the dust rose, causing Mo Wangchen to cough slightly. Once the dust settled, he looked around and saw small footprints in the dusty ground, clearly Yaoyao’s from her previous visit.
Following the footprints, Mo Wangchen made his way deeper into the hall, looking for the beautiful stones she mentioned.
The interior of the hall was rather dimly lit. As he moved, the dust stirred, making his vision even more blurred. The further he went in, the more he could smell the scent of decay, which suggested the hall had stood for hundreds of thousands of years.
"Hmm?"
Before long, he spotted a faint glow ahead. Moving forward, he found several half-palm-sized stones among a pile of debris. They were rectangular, entirely snow-white yet covered in dust.
"This is..."
He paused, suspecting these might be the beautiful stones Yaoyao mentioned.
Bending slightly, Mo Wangchen intended to take two of them and leave.
Boom!
However, just as his hand touched one of these stones, he suddenly sensed a faint energy bursting within him.
The next moment, the stone in his hand visibly dimmed from snow-white to grey, turning into an ordinary stone with cracks appearing on it, crumbling at a gentle squeeze.
"What is happening?!"
Startled, Mo Wangchen felt as though struck by lightning; his body jolted as a thin thread of spiritual power surged through him, pushing his cultivation to the first level of the Body Refining Realm!
"My cultivation..."
Realizing the anomaly within himself, Mo Wangchen was stunned, trying to perceive internally, and soon saw a faint light glowing in the fragmentary remains of his Spirit Sea.
"A fragment?!"
That light, a fragment, stirred a memory within Mo Wangchen.
Back when he slew the Zhou Family Ancestor’s Spiritual Body, this fragment was discovered, later entering his body.
Now, this fragment had replaced his Spirit Sea. Upon contact with the stone, it awakened, allowing Mo Wangchen to feel that the cultivation he once lost was again stepping into the first level of the Body Refining Realm.
"Could this be... a Source Stone?!"
Amazed, he stared at the now-grey stone in his hand.
Known as Source Stone, it contained the refined essence of heaven and earth. Upon his touch, the fragment within him autonomously absorbed the Source Power within the Source Stone, leading to its awakening.
"What exactly is this fragment..."
His astonishment mingled with excitement because the fragment, now replacing his Spirit Sea, hovered inside him, and within it, Mo Wangchen could sense a faint spiritual power nourishing his being!
