After Transmigrating into a Novel with My Boyfriend, He Turned Out to Be a Native Villain -
Chapter 223: Because I Like You
“Ding——”
The elevator doors opened on the second floor, and Rong Fan stepped out toward Chen Zhixia’s home.
Turning the corner, a woman was standing at the door.
She leaned lazily against the railing, waist-length hair casually tied up. Draped over her shoulders was a man’s coat, under which a dark blue long dress fluttered in the night like a mysterious blue enchantress. The wide hem swayed freely, revealing a sliver of snow-white ankle.
Hearing footsteps, she turned her head, then raised an eyebrow: “You actually came on your own? Bo Jingmo was just looking for you.”
When she saw the knife in the man’s hand, her tone turned playful at once: “What’s this? Woke up from a nap and Dr. Rong finally cleared his head? You’ve decided to kill me now? But killing someone breaks the Peace Rule, you know.”
But Rong Fan only said calmly, “What if I kill a god?”
Meeting the smile on the woman’s face, his eyes darkened as he slowly walked over.
“I know you and Bo Jingmo are both gods. So if I kill you two, I won’t be punished.”
Watching the man approach step by step, Yu Li remained still.“So?” she tilted her head, “You want to kill me?”
“No.”
Rong Fan stopped in front of her, lowering his gaze to her breathtakingly beautiful face. “You asked me before why I didn’t tell them who you are. Now I’ll give you the answer.”
Yu Li propped her chin in her hand, responding with interest, “Oh? Go on.”
“Because I like you.”
“……”
Yu Li’s expression instantly turned cold, and she spat out one word without emotion: “Get lost.”
【Hahahahahaha forgive me but I laughed way too hard.】
【Rong · Love Confession Rejected · Fan.】
【Rong Fan you finally couldn’t hold it in hahahaha I’m dying.】
【No but seriously, why are you hitting on a married woman? You’ve really gone astray. We don’t do homewrecking around here.】
【Li Mu’s face says it all—she was expecting something juicy, but it was just some cringe love confession.】
【Li Mu: Can you just f*** off?】
【As expected, if she didn’t like you back then, not even amnesia can change that. Rong Fan, give it up.】
But Rong Fan didn’t give up. He took a step forward, clenching his teeth in secret: “Why Bo Jingmo? What’s so good about him?”
Using the scenario as cover, Rong Fan asked what was truly on his mind.
“He’s just an ordinary person. If you could make him a god, why can’t I be one too?”
Yu Li shot him a sideways glance, recalling that woman’s name she got from him earlier—Li Mu.
Ever since she said that name, Rong Fan’s brain subconsciously activated some mental firewall. No matter how she probed, she couldn’t get more out of him.
Fortunately, she finally understood why Rong Fan always looked at her so strangely.
Because she looked a lot like that Li Mu.
But judging by Rong Fan’s reaction, it was obvious he’d never been with Li Mu. At most, he was a secret admirer.
The reason was simple—if Li Mu had really been his lover, and he saw her again in an instance, no way he’d act like this.
Take her little boyfriend, for example—even with amnesia in the instance, he couldn’t help but come find her the very first night.
Yet here Rong Fan was, asking what made Bo Jingmo different.
Yu Li curled her lips: “You’re really something. Asking why I chose Bo Jingmo? He’s my husband. If I don’t choose him, am I supposed to pick you—a total stranger?”
Rong Fan gripped the knife tighter: “But what if your husband betrayed you?”
The moment the words left his mouth, her gaze instantly turned sharp, and her tone snapped from lazy to stern: “Rong Fan, you better know what you’re talking about. Your sister’s still in my hands. If I decide to—”
“You haven’t felt it? My sister’s already dead.”
Rong Fan cut her off directly. His gaze was shadowed, lips tight. “My sister was killed by Jiang Xi.”
Hearing that, the woman’s lips twitched, but before she could respond, Rong Fan added, “There’s no turning back for me now. If I want to live, the only way is to replace Bo Jingmo.”
Yu Li’s eyes flashed. So liking her was just a cover—Rong Fan’s real goal was to kill Bo Jingmo.
She leaned against the railing, tone indifferent: “And what does that have to do with Bo Jingmo betraying me?”
Rong Fan pulled the corner of his mouth into a smirk. “Jiang Xi broke the rules, but do you really think Bo Jingmo would kill her? He won’t. Covering up for another woman—isn’t that betrayal? If you don’t believe me, go check the fourth floor and see if Jiang Xi is dead.”
He’d long noticed that, across countless instances and situations, Bo Jingmo would never truly hurt Jiang Xi.
So he had Jiang Xi kill Rong Ya—she was the safest option for that job.
“But I’m different. I’ve got no weak points left. That’s why I can be your strongest tool.”
After hearing that, Yu Li let out a scornful little laugh: “Be my strongest tool? How will you prove it?”
Her gaze landed on the door in front of them, then drifted lightly back to Rong Fan.
A mischievous glint sparkled in her eyes, red lips parting with a teasing smile: “How about… you kill the one who survived in that room?”
Only one person in that room could’ve survived—either the monster, or Chen Zhixia.
But either way, it broke the Peace Rule.
This should’ve been a task for the God of Peace, yet now Yu Li wanted Rong Fan to do it.
Rong Fan didn’t hesitate long: “I agree.”
Yu Li curled her lips subtly, saying nothing more.
The two stood at the door, listening to the occasional noise inside. Yu Li, bored, fiddled with the key in her hand, tapping it against her fingertips as she timed things out.
Once she figured it was about right, she tossed the key to Rong Fan.
“Go, open the door.”
Rong Fan inserted the key, opened the door, and saw two corpses lying on the floor. Chen Zhixia was slumped against the wall, panting, still gripping a blood-stained fruit knife.
At the sound, he looked up in alarm. When he saw it was Rong Fan, he clearly breathed a sigh of relief.
But when he noticed the smiling woman behind him, Chen Zhixia’s heart instantly leapt into his throat.
Watching Rong Fan step toward him, a wave of dread surged up. He frowned and shouted, “Rong Fan! What are you doing?!”
But the man stayed silent, simply staring at him.
“Sorry.”
“I’ll make sure it doesn’t hurt.”
A sharp whooshing wind swept past his ears. Chen Zhixia’s pupils widened as pain exploded in his neck—then all sensation vanished.
In just a few seconds, his corpse collapsed to the ground.
Watching from behind, Yu Li burst into laughter, “How ironic, Rong Fan.”
Chen Zhixia probably never imagined he wouldn’t die by a monster’s hand—but by his most trusted teammate.
Rong Fan sheathed the knife, turning his head with a calm voice: “Even if I hadn’t killed him today, could you and Bo Jingmo have gotten him out of here?”
But the woman only chuckled softly. Her voice was unhurried:
“Who knows? Anything’s possible.”
She leaned on the railing, breeze brushing the strands by her cheek, a carefree smile playing on her lips.
“Rong Fan, based on your performance just now, I’ll give you a chance. If Bo Jingmo really has betrayed me, I’ll let you become the God of Light.”
At those words, Rong Fan’s eyes gleamed—just barely noticeable: “Really?”
“Of course it’s real.”
The woman’s lips curled ever so slightly.
“First, you have to kill him.”
