After Transmigrating into a Novel with My Boyfriend, He Turned Out to Be a Native Villain -
Chapter 205: Are They Really Asleep?
Middle of the night—who could it be?
The two of them looked toward the door almost simultaneously.
Rong Ya narrowed her eyes, a barely detectable killing intent flashing in her gaze. Sitting on the sofa, her body was poised like a predator ready to strike.
But when she heard the voice at the door, her face showed a brief moment of shock—and a fleeting trace of fear.
"Hello." A man's cold voice came from behind the door. "Is it convenient to open the door now?"
It was Bo Jingmo from next door.
Rong Fan relaxed a little—at least it was a player.
On the sofa, Rong Ya suddenly lowered her eyelids, slowly lay back down, and closed her eyes as if she'd passed out.
Rong Fan didn’t have time to think it over. He moved cautiously, and when he saw the person on the sofa didn’t react, he finally exhaled in relief and quickly went to open the door.
The man outside wore loungewear with a dark-colored sweater over it. His presence gave off an air of noble indifference. He glanced at Rong Fan, seemingly ignoring the bloodstains on him, and said coldly, “Next time, can you ask your sister to be a little quieter? You woke up my wife.”“……”
Rong Fan figured the look on his face must be pretty ugly right now.
But the man’s sudden visit had inadvertently saved him. He could only swallow his irritation and explain, “My sister’s leg was acting up in the middle of the night. Sorry.”
Bo Jingmo's eyes landed on the room behind him, the corner of his mouth curling with an unreadable expression. “Oh? I thought with all the noise, you were dismembering a body.”
Rong Fan's face changed, and he stepped forward, speaking in a low voice, “What nonsense are you spouting!”
The man clicked his tongue lightly and took a step back. He lifted his hand to press two fingers against the tip of his nose, his gaze indifferent. “Can you step back a bit? You smell awful.”
Just a few simple lines, but Bo Jingmo’s tone was laced with barbs, and his attitude toward Rong Fan was completely unapologetic.
Was this just him keeping up appearances, or… was he taking things personally?
But if it was the former, it didn’t make sense. It was just the two of them here, and Rong Ya had passed out. They were both players. Was there any need to keep acting?
Rong Fan's face darkened. “Bo Jingmo, what the hell are you doing?”
But the man just curled his lips slightly. “Nothing. It’s just that my wife doesn’t like unpleasant smells. I wouldn’t want her to smell it when she’s hugging me.”
【M-y g-o-d, the tension is thick.】
【Bo Jingmo is totally provoking Rong Fan, right? Every sentence mentions his wife. Is this deliberate or intentional?】
【Did he figure out Rong Fan’s relationship with Li Mu? That doesn’t make sense, right? He’s just a newbie player—shouldn’t even know them.】
【Wrong take, buddy~ Who says you have to know to do this? Maybe there’s another reason? Like… Bo Jingmo figured out that Rong Fan likes Li Mu.】
【Master! I told you, that brat Rong Fan can’t hide his feelings. He’s totally exposed now.】
【Okay, okay, two guys fighting over one girl.】
【Not even necessary to fight, honestly. Rong Fan doesn’t stand a chance. Never mind that Li Mu doesn’t remember him—right now Bo Jingmo is her legit husband. Rong Fan’s just a neighbor at best.】
【Speaking of Bo Jingmo, what the hll is he doing in pajamas? Dmn, don’t tell me he really slept?!】
【Bo Jingmo, I swear you better behave. I don’t want to see a single suspicious mark on my goddess tomorrow!!!】
【Ever since I found out they kissed in the stairwell, my heart’s been dead. Pain. Too much pain.】
【But… I kinda wanna see it! Can we get just one scene… hehehe.】
【Honestly, me too!! Mainly because that couple is just too good-looking! If they kissed, it’d be seriously hot!】
【Who do you think takes the lead? Right now Bo Jingmo’s got the stronger aura. Silent in front of others, savage toward love rivals, but obedient to his little wife—he might be the kind to hold the back of her head and kiss her hard in private.】
【Sh*t, thinking about it that way makes it even hotter!】
【If that’s true, I wanna see it too!!】
【Guys, how did you all go off the rails so fast?! Weren’t we supposed to be resisting outsiders?!】
【Eh, go with the flow~ Plus, Sister Li actually seems to like Bo Jingmo. Even if she’s got amnesia, she’s not rejecting him, so that’s a good sign, right?】
【Not even a full day and you’ve all jumped ship. Rong Fan’s probably crying in the bathroom.】
Even Rong Fan wasn’t dumb enough to miss that Bo Jingmo was deliberately targeting him. He narrowed his eyes. “Bo Jingmo, there are no NPCs around right now. No need to keep acting, right?”
Bo Jingmo’s eyes held a faint smile, his brow arched slightly. “Is that so? But this is an A-rank instance. Isn’t it normal for me to be cautious?”
“Then what’s your persona? Did you find it?” Rong Fan’s gaze scanned Bo Jingmo, the corner of his mouth twitching subtly as disgust flickered in his eyes.
So f*cking annoying.
He was over here worried about what might happen at midnight, while Bo Jingmo could sleep peacefully—with Li Mu, no less.
“Found it,” Bo Jingmo replied lazily, chuckling. “It’s loving my wife. Isn’t that obvious?”
“…Is that so?” Rong Fan couldn’t help but sneer. He suddenly remembered that Bo Jingmo hadn’t been present during their discussion that evening, so he probably didn’t know about the hidden personas.
And Rong Fan had no intention of telling him.
“Well, congrats.”
As Rong Fan spoke, he moved to close the door. But then he remembered that Bo Jingmo was going back to sleep with Li Mu. His hand paused mid-motion, resting on the doorknob, then slowly let go.
“Wait.” He suddenly called out to the man about to leave.
He glanced toward the clock in the living room. It was already 11:48 PM.
The man paused at his words, turned his head and asked, “What is it?”
Rong Fan pulled his gaze back from the living room, his eyes flickering, tone casual. “Is Xu Wei asleep? You might wake her if you go back now.”
Bo Jingmo raised a brow. “So?”
“You probably don’t know—something terrifying is going to happen in this building at midnight.”
As Rong Fan spoke, he turned slightly, his eyes cold as always, his tone carrying the arrogance of someone used to being on top.
“And it’s almost midnight now. Don’t you want to know what’s going to happen? This is clue-related. The reason you even got into the A-rank instance this time partly has to do with me, so I’ll do my best to keep you safe.”
As a player, who could possibly resist the word clue? There was no way Bo Jingmo could turn down this proposal.
Sure enough, after hearing that, the man froze slightly, a contemplative look flashing across his face. A few seconds later, he agreed, “Alright. I hope you’re not lying to me.”
Rong Fan let out a breath and sneered, “I’m a high-level player. Why would I lie to you?”
With that, he turned back into the room, intending to settle Rong Ya first.
What he didn’t notice was that the moment he turned around, Bo Jingmo curled his lips ever so slightly. The interest on his face vanished instantly, replaced by indifference and coldness.
Meanwhile, inside Room 403 next door.
The curtains had been drawn. In the pitch-black room, not a single sound of breathing could be heard. Moonlight filtered through the gaps, stretching across the floor, inching its way to the bedside, and finally spilling over the sheets.
That large bed—
Was completely empty.
