Wei Lan considered herself to have treated Shi Yiqing very well.

Zhuang Yueyan revealed a smug look, "Your recent change in attitude? I see it all very clearly."

Wei Lan’s expression suddenly shifted, "I, I don’t understand what you’re talking about."

Zhuang Yueyan continued, "You really think I’m oblivious? When the incident with the Wei Family happened, you began to care less and less about my daughter. If you weren’t afraid of being ridiculed for kicking her out, you would have done it already, wouldn’t you?"

Wei Lan’s complexion instantly turned unsightly, "I don’t know what nonsense you’re spouting!"

"Hmph." Zhuang Yueyan’s look was one of pride, "It doesn’t matter if you don’t understand; as long as I can make myself clear, that’s enough."

She turned to Shi Yiqing and said, "Qingqing, you are my daughter, and anything I do, as your mother, is for your own good. I hope you can understand that."

Shi Yiqing wanted to ask if it really was all for her own good, why then did she leave her at the Shi Family.

"After all, with your biological daughter back, the bond with the foster child would naturally weaken. I can understand..."
