After the True Heiress Travels Back -
Chapter 141: Give Him a Choice?
Chapter 141: Chapter 141: Give Him a Choice?
Zhao Ye was speechless after hearing Shi Yaoguang’s explanation.
It sounded so nice.
But in reality?
Had he been given a choice?
Meeting his accusing gaze, Shi Yaoguang innocently replied, "I was also thinking of everyone’s safety. After all, you’re the Ghost King who has killed people before. Without me watching over you, I naturally can’t rest assured if you’re unbounded."
Zhao Ye: "What’s there to be worried about?"
"If I let you roam free, I’m worried you might kill the innocent recklessly."
After finishing her sentence, Shi Yaoguang flipped her palm upward, and a crystal-clear, glass bottle appeared in her hand.
She opened the bottle cap, her smile indicative of ill intentions, "Get familiar with it, from now on this will be your new home."
Zhao Ye looked at her in disbelief, "What did you say?"
Ignoring the grinding noise of his teeth, Shi Yaoguang’s smile was sweet, "I’ll say it again, this will be your home from now on."
Zhao Ye immediately protested, "I don’t want it!"
"It’s not up to you to decide."
Shi Yaoguang finished speaking and silently recited an incantation. The iron chains on Zhao Ye began to shrink at a rate visible to the naked eye.
Zhao Ye was dumbfounded. He struggled hard to break free, but it was completely ineffective.
Instead, he felt as if the more he struggled, the tighter the chains became.
Seeing that he was about to be trapped in the small bottle, Zhao Ye no longer cared about keeping up appearances and hurriedly said, "I promise you! It’s just acting, right? I agree!"
"Oh," Shi Yaoguang voiced a response.
But the rate at which Zhao Ye was shrinking did not slow down.
He watched helplessly as he continued to get smaller, smaller, and even smaller.
Eventually, he got sucked into the glass bottle.
Trapped in the glass bottle, Zhao Ye was completely bewildered.
"Didn’t I agree? Why are you still imprisoning me?"
Shi Yaoguang curled her lip slightly, "True, you did agree to my terms, but I never said I would let you go, did I?"
Her tone sounded utterly innocent.
Zhao Ye immediately became furious.
Shi Yaoguang looked at the crimson in the depths of his eyes and sighed, "You might as well stop struggling; it’s useless."
"Instead of wasting energy here, you’d better conserve your Ghost Qi so as not to be purified by the glass bottle."
Upon hearing this, Zhao Ye was startled.
It was only then that he realized something was off about the glass bottle.
Inside the bottle, he could distinctly feel a discomfort in his body.
He couldn’t pinpoint exactly what was wrong.
The most tangible sensation was the loss of Ghost Qi from his body.
Although it was a slow process, it was relentless.
"Let me go, let me out!" he demanded.
He banged on the glass with all his might, trying desperately to fly towards the opening of the bottle.
Yet, it felt like his feet were filled with lead.
He could not muster any strength at all.
"What is going on..."
He looked down, muttering to himself, his gaze at Shi Yaoguang filled with terror.
Shi Yaoguang shook the bottle leisurely and said, "Just stay in the bottle for now. When I need you, I will naturally seek you out."
After she finished speaking, she threw Zhao Ye into a space.
Zhao Ye watched in disbelief as the scene before him changed, and when he opened his eyes again, he found himself in a place with beautiful mountains and clear waters.
However...
He was already trapped within the glass bottle, only able to watch the scenery outside helplessly.
Shi Yaoguang put him away in her space and never bothered with him again; with the constraints of the glass bottle, he couldn’t turn the tables.
What needed to be done was to completely resolve the spectral beings inside the Ghost House.
Without Zhao Ye, the Ghost King, the ghosts within the Ghost House had become headless flies.
Chairman An was entangled with one of Zhao Ye’s subordinates, and he saw that he was about to have his heart gouged out by the ghost’s sharp claw.
At the crucial moment, the ghost suddenly stopped its action.
Not daring to delay, Chairman An immediately thought of moving against the ghost.
However, the ghost, as if summoned by something, turned into a wisp of black mist and disappeared without a trace.
Chairman An couldn’t help but feel anxious; could it be that the Ghost King inside the Ghost House had called it away?
As he thought this, he suddenly saw a golden brilliance spreading across the sky, followed by a golden gate appearing out of nowhere.
"Is this—"
Chairman An lifted his head unbelievingly to the sky and murmured, "The Merit Gate!"
He stood there dumbfounded, watching as one after another dark shadow stepped into the golden gate erected in the void, then vanished.
Then, he blinked and found himself at the entrance of the Ghost House.
Accompanying him were more than a dozen young women.
Everyone stood still, looking at each other in confusion.
After a while, the young women burst into joyous wailing.
"We’re saved! Wuu wuu wuu, we’re finally out..."
"It’s great, we don’t have to die here."
"I really want to go home, I want to see my parents..."
"I’d made plans with my boyfriend to go traveling together. I’ve been missing for so long, he must be worried sick about me."
Chairman An looked at the chattering girls with a somewhat somber expression.
He couldn’t help but ask the closest girl, "How did you get out?"
The girl shook her head blankly, "I don’t know."
"We were always locked in a small room, and there were ghost servants guarding us. Suddenly the ghost servants disappeared, and we found ourselves here..."
Before Chairman An could ask anything more, he saw a young man with blue hair jogging over.
"Chairman An!"
Chairman An looked towards him, "Mr. Zhao."
Zhao Jinlin sized him up and down, relieved to see he was intact, "It’s good that you’re okay, Chairman An, otherwise I would feel terribly guilty."
Chairman An shook his head, "Mr. Zhao, what exactly is going on here?"
Zhao Jinlin scratched his head, "I’m not entirely sure about the specifics. It was probably something the Heavenly Master did."
"Right, where is the Heavenly Master?"
As he said this, he glanced around but was puzzled not to see him.
"The Heavenly Master?" Chairman An was puzzled. They didn’t seem to have a Heavenly Master with the surname Shi in their circle.
Seeing his confusion, Zhao Jinlin briefly explained Shi Yaoguang’s identity: "The Heavenly Master seemed to have come for Miss An. I met her in the Ghost House. When the Ghost King appeared, she gave me an Invisibility Talisman, and then..."
Zhao Jinlin thought for a moment, only remembering that he had found a corner to hide in, and then he appeared outside.
After listening, Chairman An became more curious about this Heavenly Master mentioned by Zhao Jinlin.
At the same time, he also conjured up an image in his mind of the Heavenly Master as a venerable and respected senior.
Shi Yaoguang was unaware of how Chairman An had envisioned her.
After sending off the ghost servants, she sat down to rest right there.
She also absorbed the yin energy and Ghost Qi from the house, to prevent any further incidents.
When she came out of her meditative state three hours later,
she stretched leisurely and headed for the door.
Upon reaching the door, she was greeted by a dozen burning gazes.
"The Heavenly Master!"
Zhao Jinlin waved enthusiastically at her.
Chairman An had assumed Shi Yaoguang was like the other young women, a victim; he was taken aback to hear Zhao Jinlin call out "Heavenly Master."
