Chapter 69: The Dog You Raised
Chapter 69: Chapter 69: The Dog You Raised
Bian Yue looked at him incredulously, her almond eyes wide open. She whispered with certainty, "You’re drunk! You don’t know what you’re saying! Li Sihe! I’m married! I won’t get divorced! You’re being the other woman! Have you no shame?"
Her insults were truly harsh.
Li Sihe’s eyes were completely red as he stared at Bian Yue, refusing to give in at all, and once again spoke with resolute determination, "Divorce him, Bian Yue. I will marry you!"
"I said I’m not getting divorced!" Bian Yue tried to pull her hand free, failing several times, and glared at him with a cold look in her eyes, "Li Sihe, you have no idea what you’re doing! When you sober up tomorrow, you will surely regret your actions today!"
"I’ve never been more sober!" The man’s voice became even more suppressed.
Bian Yue glared at him, anger stirring in her eyes.
Bai Xu, whose legs had gone weak, finally arrived late. He walked up to Li Sihe, attempting to persuade him, "Young master, it’s very late. Let’s go home first."
Bian Yue also spoke calmly, echoing Bai Xu’s words, "Li Sihe, you really should go home! Let me go now, and I’ll treat this as you having a drunken fit and not hold it against you."
"Go open the car door," the man said with an icy voice.
Bai Xu was startled, "Young master..."
"Go open the car door!"
Biting his teeth, Bai Xu turned and walked away quickly.
"Let me go, let me go! Li Sihe, have you gone mad? What on earth are you trying to do!" Bian Yue struggled fiercely, but the drunk man had an astonishing strength, heedless of control, and didn’t budge an inch.
Li Sihe looked coldly at Bian Yue’s resolute stance. Seeing she had finally run out of energy and quieted down, he started to drag her by the hand towards the road.
Bian Yue, frightened and breaking out in a cold sweat, also realized the road was not the place to argue. She followed Li Sihe to the side of the car, then erupted with pent-up rage, "What are you trying to do? Kidnap me? Li Sihe, do you believe I will call the police!"
"Go ahead and call. Do you even know which way the police station door opens? Do you need me to accompany you there?" Li Sihe chuckled, his tone suddenly turning cold after a moment of gentle speaking, like a gentleman’s facade completely stripped away. He said, "Get in the car."
"I won’t!" Bian Yue’s temper also flared up, "I said I won’t! If you don’t let me go now, I am capable of anything! Li Sihe, I beg you to have some moral sense and stop bothering a married woman like me!"
The phrase ’a married woman’ easily agitated Li Sihe’s restless nerves.
He gripped Bian Yue’s shoulders and pushed her into the car, shutting the door with a ’bang’. Bian Yue’s heart pounded like a drum as she clutched her phone tightly, intending to call Kang Yu.
Just as she flipped open her contacts, Li Sihe had already sat next to her, snatching her phone away with an indifferent sweep of his eyes, "Looking for help? Shen Jinci is on a business trip abroad; distant waters won’t quench a near fire."
"What do you want? To murder me?" Bian Yue scoffed coldly, watching as the car engine started and the partition lifted, knowing struggling was futile. She closed her eyes, gritting her teeth, "Give me my phone back!"
Li Sihe watched Bian Yue’s angry face in peace and after a long while, the aggression from his body subsided, and he returned to his cultured and refined demeanor. He said, "Yueyue, I’ve wronged you. Did I hurt you just now?"
"Don’t you find what you’re saying laughable? Kidnap me here for no reason, and now you’re asking if you’ve hurt me? Should I say no, thank you for being merciful?"
She was still like this—putting up spikes all over when she felt unsafe.
Li Sihe watched her indulgently, his gaze gradually warming inch by inch, "I was wrong, Yueyue."
"Give me back my phone, let me out of the car, and then apologize to me!" Bian Yue glared at him, clenching her teeth, "Otherwise, your apology really lacks any persuasive power!"
"I know," Li Sihe smiled and shrugged, putting on an attitude of wanting to just break and stop pretending altogether, "Anyway, I was lying to you."
"Li Sihe!"
"How else could I possibly have gotten you to get in my car? Yueyue, I know you too well, I know you never look back."
Bian Yue looked at the night scenery outside the window, this time, she was silent for a long time.
When she spoke again, her voice was calmer, "Since you know, what’s the point of doing this? Li Sihe, I am Shen Jinci’s wife. I have an obligation to be loyal to him. What you’re doing now is very immoral."
"I’ve never been very moral, Bian Yue, didn’t you know?" Li Sihe chuckled, he turned his head to look at Bian Yue and said gently, "That said, is your Shen Jinci moral? I’m just afraid his bottom line as a person is even lower than mine!"
"Why do you have to bring Jinci into this? No matter what he is like, at least he’s never done anything to hurt me!" Bian Yue’s voice was tinged with anger, "What right do you have to be pointing fingers at him here?"
Li Sihe thought that perhaps the greatest punishment God can give someone is to have and then to lose.
He had seen Bian Yue with eyes full of no one but him, and that’s how he knew how determined she was now to leave.
For Shen Jinci, she countered every single word he said, defending another man in front of him.
A sharp pain pierced Li Sihe’s heart, and it was bleeding profusely; he looked at Bian Yue coldly and said calmly, "Are you saying these things now to take revenge on me?"
"Take revenge on you for what?" Bian Yue retorted.
"For the neglect, I’ve given you this year, for my... betrayal."
The abscess was always there, and it burst and oozed pus every time.
No one knows how many years it will take for this wound to finally heal.
Li Sihe did not regret his cruelty.
He just didn’t expect Shen Jinci to be an unforeseen complication.
Seeing Bian Yue’s silence, Li Sihe’s Adam’s apple moved rapidly as he stared at her and said hoarsely, "Many things, I don’t know how to explain to you now, but Bian Yue, as long as you divorce him, we can still live like before, nothing will change."
Bian Yue was amazed at Li Sihe’s self-deception.
She could no longer bear it and looked at him, her words sharp as knives, "You know, you were the first to betray our relationship. How can you say these things to me now without feeling ashamed? Li Sihe, I’ve already started a new life. What gives you the right to think you can pull me back whenever you want? Am I a dog you’ve raised?"
"Shen Jinci is not a good person, you won’t be happy with him!" Li Sihe said earnestly.
Bian Yue returned the sincerity, "He treats me very well, he cares about me, I am happy with him, happier than I ever was with the Li Family."
These were words that wounded the heart.
Li Sihe felt a torrent of pain rising in his chest, numbing and burning. He stared at Bian Yue’s defiant face, let out a cold laugh, and his elegant and proud expression carried a trace of stern coldness, "Then do you know that he’s been deceiving you all along? Bian Yue, do you really think Shen Jinci cares about you that much? If he cares about you, why would he deceive you!"
