Shen Jinci then casually ruffled Bian Yue’s hair, asking if she had her fill for dinner.

Bian Yue responded that she hadn’t eaten much, being filled with frustration instead.

Once she started speaking, it was as if she opened a floodgate; holding onto Shen Jinci’s hand, she walked towards the parking lot and poured out everything that had happened at dinner that day.

"You tell me, isn’t this Zhuang Jie Ning going too far? She’s using her relationship with Lu Zhonian to force me into a compromise, and it’s just shameless!" Bian Yue sat in the passenger seat, so caught up in her rant that she hadn’t even buckled her seatbelt yet.

Shen Jinci’s expression remained gentle, as he turned to fasten Bian Yue’s seatbelt for her.

The distance between them was very close, their noses almost touching. Shen Jinci pinched Bian Yue’s cheek, his voice soothing, "Are you that angry?"

"Not really, I was prepared for Zhuang Jie Ning, so I didn’t really get angry." Bian Yue coughed and looked seriously into Shen Jinci’s face, which was so close to hers, "It’s because I’m complaining to you that I got... angry."

Shen Jinci kissed Bian Yue’s forehead, saying, "Then I’ll take the Moon Princess out to dinner, how does that sound?"

Bian Yue couldn’t help but laugh, asking where he planned to take her to eat.

Shen Jinci started the car, smiling leisurely, "What kind of cuisine do you feel like eating?"

"I want something spicy, the spicier the better," Bian Yue said. "I’ve been having too many light teas lately and it’s left my taste buds wanting."

Shen Jinci thought for a brief moment before saying with a smile, "I know a nearby Sichuan restaurant that’s quite good."

The place Shen Jinci took Bian Yue to was a restaurant with a private courtyard setting.

They pulled up to the entrance, and Bian Yue surveyed the area, noting the absence of other customers.

It seemed peaceful, probably operating on a membership basis.

Shen Jinci opened the car door for Bian Yue, then took a coat from the trunk.

Just as Bian Yue stepped out, Shen Jinci draped the coat over her shoulders; his movements were natural and his voice was lazy and tender, "The air conditioning inside is quite strong, don’t catch a cold."

Bian Yue felt the anger that had been boiling inside her vanish completely.

She tiptoed to kiss Shen Jinci’s cheek, "Mr. Shen is really considerate, I appreciate it greatly."

Her intention was to tease Shen Jinci a bit.

However, he looked at her unfazed, then bent down and kissed the corner of her lips, his voice calm and sensually low, "Good to hear you appreciate it."

Blushing, Bian Yue headed towards the entrance, where an antique-looking lantern hung, which she found rather beautiful. She pointed to it, remarking, "That lantern looks really nice."

Shen Jinci followed the direction of Bian Yue’s pointing finger briefly, saying nothing, only wrapping his arm around her shoulders as they walked inside.

The decor of the restaurant was very classical, with two blue and white porcelain vases placed at the entrance, filled with vibrant lotus flowers that had a unique flair under the light.

Beneath the lotus leaves, Bian Yue saw some red fish swimming, too quickly for her to see their full shape.

They took a seat by the window, and the waiter approached with respectful tone, "What would Mr. Shen like to have today?"

"Just go with today’s menu."

"Very well, please wait a moment."

The two sat opposite each other, and Bian Yue idly scrutinized the quiet space.

"Why is there no one here?"

"They’re not open for business today."

"Huh?"

"I just had Kang Yu contact the chef, and they’re busy in the kitchen now."

Bian Yue nodded, "No wonder it’s so quiet."

Shen Jinci’s lips curled up with a lazy smile, finding Bian Yue’s serious demeanor incredibly adorable.

Soon, several dishes with fresh and pungent aromas were served, along with a paper lantern.

Bian Yue had only glanced casually, but her eyes widened upon seeing the lantern.

"This! This!"

"It’s for you," Shen Jinci handed the lantern to Bian Yue.

Bian Yue held the lantern in her hand, her eyes shining, "Did you ask them for it?"

"Yep, you like it, don’t you?"

Bian Yue looked at the exquisite paper-cut on the lantern, unable to part with it, and nodded, "Yes, I really like it, this looks very special."

"Then... after dinner, how about we take a walk with the lantern to help digest the food?" Shen Jinci suggested.

"Sure," Bian Yue put the lantern aside and picked up her chopsticks, "Eat more! Then we can walk even further later!"

Bian Yue had a full meal.

So much so that when she walked out of the private restaurant, she temporarily pushed the unpleasantness that had occurred between Zhuang Jie Ning and Lu Zhonian to the back of her mind.

Bian Yue walked out holding the lantern in one hand and pulling Shen Jinci’s hand with the other.

When they stepped out of the door, a cool night breeze happened to brush their faces.

"You... you took down the lantern at their entrance?" Bian Yue was somewhat surprised.

Shen Jinci chuckled and pulled Bian Yue away, "The boss isn’t here tonight, so let’s grab it and run."

Bian Yue laughed happily, Shen Jinci’s words exciting her in a rare mischievous way, so she immediately went along with him and ran out.

The two ran a long way on Shiqing Road until they reached an artificial large pond, where Bian Yue finally said she was out of breath and couldn’t run anymore.

She sat down on the stone steps to the side, chuckling, "If we get caught like this, won’t we be arrested?"

Shen Jinci looked at Bian Yue’s flushed face and sat down beside her, laughing, "No, I paid for it."

Bian Yue puffed out her cheeks, "Why did you tell me."

"I thought you were tired from playing," Shen Jinci looked at Bian Yue’s animated face, feeling a tenderness in his heart, "Or else, ask me again, and I’ll answer differently."

"That’s not how it goes." Bian Yue couldn’t help but laugh, saying, "Alright, let’s rest for a while."

The area was very quiet, Bian Yue watched the reflection of lights on the water’s surface, suddenly speaking, "Shen Jinci, this place is so beautiful, look at these lights falling into the water, don’t they look like stars?"

Shen Jinci did not immediately answer Bian Yue, he paused and then suddenly said, "Wait here for me, I’m going to the shop to buy something."

There was a shop just ten steps away.

Shen Jinci quickly returned, this time with a sparkler in his hand.

Bian Yue watched as he walked towards her, holding the sparking sparkler that emitted a golden, dazzling light.

The sparks illuminated his face, which was beautiful enough to feast the eyes, unrivaled in charm.

Bian Yue stared at him blankly until he sat down beside her and the last of the sparkler’s powder burned out.

Shen Jinci handed a new sparkler to Bian Yue, lighting it with a metallic lighter.

Bian Yue watched with delight, whispering in amazement, "It’s so beautiful."

Shen Jinci watched Bian Yue’s excited face, and as if he was coddling a child, tenderly and softly coaxed her, saying, "Look, doesn’t this look more like stars?"
