Chapter 105: Chapter 105: Lessons Received
"You... who are you! It was that little girl who started the fight! I am the victim here! Why are you looking at me like this!"
The man leading them covered his head in anger as he stood up and shouted, "I tell you, if anything happens to me today! I will make sure that little girl pays the price!"
Li Sihe looked gentle and elegant, with an air of good breeding; it didn’t seem likely that he would be a violent thug, which is why the man dared to be so arrogant.
After he finished speaking and saw that Li Sihe didn’t respond, his sneer intensified, "You rich young masters think just because this is your turf, I wouldn’t dare to touch you! You should go to Tsim Sha Tsui and ask around, do you think I, Brother Guang, can be slapped around by just any woman?"
Although it was just a small bar, it was owned by Xie Zhang after all. Those who could afford to spend here had their own status and connections and were not so easily pushed around.
"Brother Guang?" Li Sihe calmly repeated the man’s words, and spoke lightly, "Why did my fiancée hit you?"
"Are you asking me?" Brother Guang’s expression was furious, his eyebrows raised, his voice rough, "I’d also like to know if that little girl is crazy! I only touched her a bit, and she acted like some virtuous chaste woman in front of me! And then she dared to slap me! They all come out to play, what’s with the act! If she wants to be with my women, there’s plenty out there!"
Xie Zhang’s heart sank when he heard this and turned to look towards Li Sihe.
Yet Li Sihe’s eyes were calm, as if he had no reaction. He continued calmly asking, "You touched her? Where did you touch her?"
Brother Guang, careless as always, was not used to wearing shoes, so he directly said, "It was just a touch on the face, it’s not like she lost a piece of flesh!"
Under the dim light of the bar, Li Sihe’s expression was cool as he spoke softly, "Which hand touched her?"
Xie Zhang sensed trouble, stepping forward to say, "Shiheng... Brother Guang here is a streetwise man, his godfather is like a mafia boss, you better not..."
But Li Sihe just looked emotionlessly at Brother Guang, repeating word by word, "Didn’t you hear me asking you? Which hand did you touch her with?"
Brother Guang looked disdainfully at Li Sihe, up and down, and with a cold sneer, he sarcastically said, "What’s with that tone? You trying to hit back?"
Brother Guang laughed and raised his right hand, "I used this hand to hit her, so what now? You wanna hit back?"
Li Sihe had Xie Zhang put Bian Yue in the car first.
Xie Zhang frowned, wanting to speak but held back, looking at Li Sihe and eventually saying nothing, taking Bian Yue away.
Almost the instant they left, Brother Guang’s screams could be heard from inside.
When Li Sihe emerged, his hands were smeared with blood.
In the car, he wiped the blood from his hands with an emotionless expression, his demeanor calm.
Xie Zhang stared, dumbfounded, and after a long while muttered, "What did you do?"
Li Sihe simply stated, "Nothing much, just crippled one of his hands."
This matter, of course, was not easy to settle, and that very night, the full story was relayed to Li Tingmo.
Li Tingmo didn’t care about Li Sihe injuring someone, but what bothered him was that it involved Bian Yue.
That night, Li Sihe was personally beaten by Li Tingmo in the ancestral hall until his back was a mess of blood and flesh, not a spot left unharmed.
Bian Yue was unaware of this event; from her perspective, it was merely a hangover, and upon waking up, she was informed that she was escorted home by Xie Zhang.
Thus, her resentment only grew stronger, and the relationship between the two saw no relief.
The next morning at breakfast, dressed provocatively, Bian Yue sat across from Li Sihe, took the hangover tea from the butler’s hand, and finished it in one gulp.
Noticing Li Sihe’s gaze, Bian Yue nonchalantly put down the bowl, raising her eyebrows, "Why are you looking at me? Got a newspaper on my face? If you want to admire your dignity, go read about it in the papers!"
The butler looked anxiously at Li Sihe, but the man remained serene and calmly said, "If you still want to go out for drinks tonight, bring my men with you; it’s not safe for a girl to be out alone at night."
"Not safe? Is it safe to stay within the Li Family? Who knows when your swarm of women will come knocking! Speaking of which..."
Bian Yue surveyed Li Sihe’s pale face with a sharp, unmerciful voice, "Speaking of which, you should take care of yourself. Look at your complexion, as white as a ghost. Don’t squander your health just because you’re young."
The sarcasm in her words was rich.
Li Sihe didn’t offer any explanation, simply accepting the advice as he said, "Understood, I’ll pay more attention in the future."
Bian Yue’s expression was tense, she coldly watched him, unfazed, ate nothing for breakfast, and headed out the door.
While Li Sihe remained seated, watching Bian Yue’s figure disappear from sight before calmly withdrawing his gaze, he instructed the butler to clear away the breakfast on the table.
The butler, perplexed, looked at Li Sihe with a saddened voice, "Young master, why won’t you explain to the miss? Without telling her, how would she know you were hurt because of her?"
"What’s there to say?" Li Sihe asked coldly, more composed than ever, "It’s my own fault, is she supposed to cry in gratitude?"
Li Sihe always understood that everything was his fault.
He had nothing to defend himself with, and at this point, didn’t wish for absolution.
Just as in the beginning, when he chose the path opposed to Bian Yue, he never intended to turn back...
When Bian Yue arrived at Mintang Media, anny was speaking with Ah Si downstairs.
After a period of not seeing him, Ah Si seemed even more beautiful and attractive than before but without the shyness and awkwardness; he appeared much more cheerful.
Seeing Bian Yue, Ah Si’s eyes lit up, and he ran over excitedly.
"President Bian! You’ve arrived!" Ah Si’s voice was buoyant, "I’ve been training hard during this time, you can count on me! I won’t let you down!"
Bian Yue nodded in approval and smiled, "Good, after my meeting, you and Meng Qi come over for a report!"
"No problem, President Bian! We’ll be well prepared!" Ah Si replied jubilantly, eager to please.
After dealing with Ah Si, Bian Yue and anny walked towards the elevator, exchanging glances. Bian Yue pondered for a moment, looking at anny, "How is it? Is Yao Yimin already here?"
"She’s been waiting upstairs, and Wang Dan’an has arrived too," anny lowered her voice, "Wang Dan’an has been especially attentive this time, it’s giving me the creeps."
Bian Yue frowned slightly, speaking softly, "Our cooperation with Red Mountain Film and Television hasn’t officially started yet, why is Wang Dan’an so accommodating? What’s in it for him?"
anny appeared thoughtful; after listening to Bian Yue, she paused, then curiously asked, "President Bian, do you think there might be... some kind of scheme?"
