After Betrayal: Lightning Marriage to Mr. Enigmatic
Chapter 73: The Enthusiasm of the Roommate

Chapter 73: Chapter 73: The Enthusiasm of the Roommate

What’s wrong with not having a college degree?

That won’t stop her! She can rise to the top just the same!

Christopher Weaver tries to suppress her everywhere, isn’t that because he’s afraid she’ll become too strong and retaliate?

Then she’ll become even stronger than he can imagine!

After leaving the dean’s office building, Isabella Weaver returned to the dorm to pack her things.

Molly Cox and the others were all there; they still didn’t know she had dropped out.

"Isabella, where are you going? Not staying in the dorm anymore?"

"Yeah, Isabella, sometimes we love gossiping a bit, don’t take it to heart, we’re still good roommates and classmates!"

"We haven’t hung out together in a while, how about going out for lunch? Our treat!"

Isabella Weaver swept her cold gaze over the three of them, without saying a word.

Their enthusiasm was utterly irrational!

Offering unsolicited kindness often has ulterior motives.

"Isabella, your outfit looks nice, isn’t it Burberry’s new spring collection? A top international model wore it for a runway show abroad! It must cost at least tens of thousands, did your boyfriend who drives a sports car buy it for you?"

"Wow, Isabella, aren’t those pearl shoes from Gucci’s new collection? They’re also expensive and hard to find, I heard only Star Region Mall sells them, did you go shopping there?"

"Isabella, you should change your bag, you’ve been using that backpack for years, it doesn’t match your luxury outfit at all!"

Isabella Weaver ignored their chattering comments. She dressed in the expensive clothes Harry Hunter bought for her, just to keep up appearances with him.

She packed her clothes and bedding neatly into a large suitcase—she really didn’t have many clothes; the bedding was a thin one provided by the school, with more books and countless sketches.

From start to finish, she didn’t say another word to anyone in the dorm, just left the dorm key on the table, and walked out with her belongings.

Molly Cox exclaimed from behind: "What’s with her? Suddenly she seems so formidable! She took everything, is she not coming back?"

"I don’t know, we didn’t even hold her back. What should we do?"

"It’s okay, I texted the Campus Heartthrob Field as soon as she entered the dorm!"

...

Isabella Weaver walked out of the dormitory, giving the unused mattress and washbasin to the old man downstairs collecting recyclables.

Just as she put her suitcase into the car’s trunk, Milo Field came rushing over eagerly.

"Isabella, I finally caught you. Where have you been for a whole day and night? Your phone was off and I couldn’t reach you, do you know how worried I was?"

His hair was unkempt, his jacket worn loosely, even the buttons on his shirt were done up wrong.

For someone with such strict standards for appearance, he ran over without caring about his image.

Isabella Weaver had a sudden flash of insight: "Was it Molly and the others who tipped you off?"

"It was them. I treated the people in your dorm to dinner yesterday and asked them to take good care of you, did they treat you any better?"

No wonder!

Isabella Weaver finally understood where their enthusiasm came from.

"No need."

She put her hat back on, lowering the brim to cover half her face: "Let’s just act like we never knew each other, like strangers."

Milo Field’s eyes reddened instantly upon hearing the word "strangers": "Isabella, do you really have to treat me like this? Can’t you forgive me just this once? I don’t want to be strangers with you!"
