Chapter 49 - 49: Heartache for Him

Harry Hunter was talking while dipping his finger in water to write on the table: Return good for evil.

He was saying that he helped her, yet she was about to expose him, causing him to lose all his inheritance.

Isabella Weaver had no choice but to retract her previous statement and changed her tone while speaking to the person on the other end of the phone: "Uncle, I am Harry's girlfriend, but I am still in school and may not have time to visit you!"

Harry listened to her words, nodding in satisfaction. Not bad, her response was quite quick.

When Leon Hunter spoke to Harry, his tone was stern and cold, but when he talked to Isabella, he was afraid of scaring her and said with a laugh, "Oh, you're still a student. How old are you? What grade are you in?"

Isabella looked at Harry, and when he nodded, she replied, "Nineteen, in the fourth year of university."

"Well, that's a bit young. Little Harry is already twenty-six, the age to get married. Can you marry him right away?"

Isabella looked at Harry again, and seeing him nod once more, she gritted her teeth and said, "Yes."

"That's good!"

Leon Hunter immediately breathed a sigh of relief, "Little Harry, take her to get the marriage certificate right away, and then come home for dinner this weekend with the certificate to see your grandpa!"

Harry showed no surprise on his face and responded indifferently with a "Hmm," then hung up the phone.

The father and son had no additional conversation; their brief dialogue had a very clear purpose: marriage.

Isabella finally understood why Harry always mentioned getting the marriage license every three sentences. It turned out his father was even more persistent about it!

He didn't even ask if their relationship was good, nor whether Harry liked her, or even about her family background. It seemed as long as it was a woman who could marry him, everything would be fine!

Isabella always thought her father was irresponsible enough, but she didn't expect to encounter someone even more incredible. At least if she were to get married, Christopher Weaver would investigate thoroughly and wouldn't allow her to marry casually, to avoid disgracing him.

However, it seemed Harry was already used to it, showing no trace of emotion. Seeing the seafood noodles being served, he began eating.

Isabella's heart was moved. Perhaps his ruthless and indifferent nature was also caused by his family, just like hers.

She suppressed her surging emotions and gave all the large prawns in her bowl to Harry, "You seem to really like shrimp. I haven't touched mine; you eat them."

Harry's action of eating the noodles suddenly paused, and he remained unmoved for a long time.

Many years ago, there was a cold and aloof woman who would also give him food. She rarely smiled, yet loved him deeply.

Since her passing, no one had served him food again.

In the Hunter Family, such pampering behavior was not allowed.

Twenty years later, someone finally gave him food again, and it was his favorite shrimp.

The young girl didn't even eat it herself but gave it all to him, a grown man. Why would she think that someone like him lacked shrimp to eat?

What shrimp hadn't he eaten before?

Yet being cared for in this way brought a tinge of warmth into his heart, stirring waves of emotions.

Harry ate all the shrimp she gave him, and then he called over the waiter, "Bring a plate of shrimp, the best you have in the restaurant!"

The waiter quickly brought over the shrimp, and Harry washed his hands and began peeling the shrimp.

Shrimp after shrimp went into Isabella's bowl, soon forming a layer, white and pink, looking very appetizing.
