Chapter 436: Chapter 427: The Interesting Mother and Son

Lifting the tent flap, Yun Chan immediately saw Yun Yi sitting facing her.

She had seen photos before and thought she was mentally prepared, but seeing the child’s head wrapped in gauze and his lips pale, her heart ached densely.

However, she was used to a cold, hard relationship with her son, so she couldn’t bring herself to rush forward and hug him.

After taking a deep breath to calm her emotions, she finally stepped forward.

Yun Yi, who was picking cilantro out of his bowl, paused and looked up as if sensing something.

Mother and son quietly locked eyes for a moment.

Yun Chan couldn’t help but snort, "What’s so bad about eating a bite of cilantro? You’ve been like this since you were a kid!"

Yun Yi replied without thinking, "It could poison me."

The onlookers of this exchange: "..."

Changning had already stood up from her seat, "Please, have a seat."

"Thank you." Yun Chan nodded to her and sat down straightforwardly.

Seeing this, Yun Yi moved his mouth, "Did you, uh, have breakfast?"

"You actually care if I eat or not!" Yun Chan laughed with a snort, but then couldn’t help sniffing.

Jiang Lingxi, who had just sat down at the table next to her, nodded at Changning upon hearing this.

Soon, three identical plates of scallion oil noodles were placed in front of Yun Chan and the two people she brought along.

For Yun Chan’s portion, Changning specifically asked if she wanted cilantro.

"Yes, add a lot, please."

Changning: "..."

She moved the remaining small half-bowl of cilantro over, and then saw Yun Yi’s face turn green.

This mother and son, they’re really something!

To avoid being recognized and causing unnecessary disturbance, Yun Chan didn’t take off her sunglasses or say much to her amnesiac son across from her.

The mother and son just sat quietly and finished a bowl of noodles.

Yun Chan stood up first, frowning as she saw Yun Yi still sitting, "Let’s go."

Changning turned to see the reaction of the ’drag,’ but he obediently stood up.

Yun Chan turned and looked over, and he followed behind obediently.

"Miss Jiang, I’ll take him to the medical vehicle for a checkup, then come back to bother you later."

Jiang Lingxi raised a hand in a ’please go ahead’ gesture.

Once Yun Chan left, several people sitting at nearby tables collectively sighed with relief.

"Who was that? Such a strong presence."

"Wearing sunglasses even while eating, so mysterious."

Even though they knew the director and Jiang were probably aware of the person’s identity, not a single one dared to go over and ask.

Jiang Lingxi, along with Lu Zhengzheng and Changning, also exited the tent. Changning glanced at the two distant figures, "Finally got rid of that burden."

But amidst this sense of relief, there was an inexplicable hint of loss.

She quickly shook her head, trying to shake off this emotion.

Inside the tent.

Luan Hua waited until Chong Yin put down his chopsticks before softly speaking, "Sir, the one just now seemed to be from the Yun..."

Chong Yin raised his hand to stop her from continuing, murmuring softly, "So, it’s her son."

"Sir, should I investigate why her son was injured in the desert?"

"No need, she’ll look into it herself; we don’t need to do this favor."

"Understood."

Inside the medical vehicle.

Once she received the test results indicating all parameters were stable, only slightly weak, Yun Chan finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Looking at her rarely obedient son, she handed over her phone, "There are some videos from your childhood on this; see if they bring back any memories."

After having the accompanying doctor keep an eye on him, Yun Chan, with her bodyguard, went to find Jiang Lingxi.

Firstly, to express her heartfelt thanks, and secondly, to further understand the circumstances around Yun Yi’s discovery.

Jiang Lingxi had Changning hand her a set of clothes so dirty their original color was unrecognizable, "These were the clothes Yun Yi was wearing when we found him."

Yun Chan accepted them without any qualms, touched them, "He has some habits, like keeping important items close. But when you found him, he had nothing but clothes on him, which isn’t normal."

"Indeed, we theorized two possibilities: one is that he happened not to have brought anything at the time of the incident, and the second is that someone deliberately took away items that could identify him. Now it seems the latter is more likely."

"I will definitely get to the bottom of the truth." Just the thought of someone potentially plotting against her son made Yun Chan’s aura even more formidable, "Since Yun Yi was found by you, if you notice any further hints of suspicion, please inform me in detail."

As she spoke, she presented a simply designed business card, "This is my private card; unless swamped with work, I’m available at any time."

After Jiang Lingxi took it, she handed over a second item, "If you have the time, please spare a moment to come. It’s just a small token of appreciation."

Just as Jiang Lingxi accepted it, Lu Zhengzheng, standing beside her, gasped while looking at the card in her hand.

"A Yun Silk Sky Road, Autumn/Winter Show VIP invitation!" After Yun Chan departed, Lu Zhengzheng couldn’t resist reaching out to touch the card Jiang Lingxi placed on the table.

"The material, it seems the outer layer is silk, and the letters are embroidered—it’s really exquisite!"

Seeing her drooling over an invitation, Changning couldn’t help but laugh, "Is it that big of a deal? Isn’t it just an invitation?"

"This isn’t just any invitation." Realizing that Changning, as a temporary assistant, wasn’t from the entertainment industry, Lu Zhengzheng thought for a moment before explaining, "Yun Chan’s invitations are hard to come by. Put it this way, if the show is to invite a hundred international guests, fewer than ten domestically would qualify for this invitation. But consider how many artists and fashion industry people there are in the country—this ratio... it’s quite staggering, right?"

Changning finally gained some context and nodded, "That is indeed quite staggering."

After escorting Yun Chan out of the RV, Jiang Lingxi suddenly spoke as she thought of something: "On our way here a few days ago, we encountered a dispute. A team leader of an adventure team went missing in the desert, and when the search team came up empty-handed and was about to give up, they argued with the remaining adventurers."

Yun Chan paused her steps, "Thank you for letting me know."

Whether or not her son’s injury was related to this adventure team, as long as there was a shred of clue, she’d find a way to investigate.

After watching Yun Chan depart, Jiang Lingxi returned to the RV and saw Lu Zhengzheng and Changning gathered around the table, looking at the invitation without daring to touch it.

She walked over, picked it up, and handed it to Lu Zhengzheng, "Keep it. If we have time, we’ll go; if not, remember to let me know in advance so I can call and explain."

"Oh, okay." Lu Zhengzheng carefully accepted it.

Changning hesitated a moment, then quietly asked: "Sister Xixi, did that Ms. Yun say when she’s leaving?"

"Barring any surprises, tomorrow morning."
