"Boss, breakfast is here," the assistant’s voice suddenly came from outside the door.

The sounds of the door opening and footsteps followed.

Qin Nanyu and Ji Weitian were both startled, and then, as if realizing their current situation could easily lead to misunderstanding, Qin Nanyu abruptly let go of her clothing, which he had been holding, and Ji Weitian hurried to stand up.

Both reacted at the same time, but because they moved too quickly, Ji Weitian bumped into Qin Nanyu, and she fell back down.

Instead of waiting for Qin Nanyu to get up, she first heard the muffled sound of something falling outside the door.

Ji Weitian struggled to turn her head and saw the assistant at the door, who looked as though he’d seen a ghost but dared not scream, even trying to pretend he was world-wise and calm.

At his feet lay two bags of just-purchased breakfast.

A cup of soy milk had spilled, attempting to overflow from the bag... much like the panic spreading in the assistant’s eyes.

What had he just heard?

"I didn’t see anything, I didn’t hear anything, I don’t know anything, carry on, don’t mind me!" the assistant snapped back to reality, ignoring the breakfast on the floor, took three steps back, and then sprinted out of the apartment at the speed of a hundred-meter dash.

And he slammed the door shut with force!

The already old apartment door nearly came off with his exaggerated way of closing it.

Finally, Qin Nanyu stood up from Ji Weitian’s bed, after a sudden, unexpected accident had literally scared his assistant away.

Ji Weitian sat on the edge of the bed, holding a pillow to her chest because of the recent scare, her expression like that of a freshly wronged young wife, resentfully staring at the man in front of her who seemed to have no intention of saying anything.

"Assistant Song seems to have misunderstood," Ji Weitian pointed out.

"Mmh."

"The situation just now, it’s not his fault, anyone who saw it would have misunderstood, if we really have to blame someone, it must be blamed on..." Ji Weitian looked up at Qin Nanyu, and he just so happened to look down at her.
