Chapter 151: Chapter 151: Hold It In if You’re Not Convinced
Qin Nanyu’s eyes darkened, and without bothering to ask the butler, he strode toward the children’s room.
Seeing the tiny figure lying on the bed motionless, his little face even a bit pale.
His eyes abruptly narrowed, and without hesitation, he turned his head to instruct the butler, "What are you standing there for? Call an ambulance!"
He took a quick step forward, bent down, ready to pick up the person, but upon closer inspection, the little fellow whose acting was not up to par, his eyelashes trembled.
Hearing his anxious voice, the corners of his mouth even curled up, displaying a grin as if delighted at having tricked his own dad, about to wake from a fake faint with laughter.
Qin Nanyu paused and followed his upward curling lips.
What pale complexion? It was all made up.
His face reeked of talcum powder.
Qin Nanyu’s hand froze, then he turned around to stop the butler who was about to call for an ambulance, and spoke somberly.
"When did he stop eating?"
"From morning till now, he hasn’t touched a bite. At first, I thought Young Master Yu was just throwing a tantrum, and that comforting him would suffice. If that didn’t work, letting him go hungry for a meal would make him eat when he couldn’t stand it anymore. But unexpectedly, he’s been starving the whole day. Young Master Yu is still so young, what if he really falls ill from hunger? How would I explain this to the old master?"
The butler was already anxious, and seeing the little guy faint only added to his restlessness.
"If anyone is to explain, it will be me. What are you panicking about?" Qin Nanyu took the phone from the butler’s hand, casually placed it aside, and calmly sat down by the bed.
His long legs lazily crossed, he scrutinized the little chap pretending to faint.
He asked indifferently, "Did he mention any reason for his hunger strike?"
"He, he did," the butler said hesitantly, stammering for a while before he spoke, "Young Master Yu said he doesn’t want to live here, he wants to go live with his little sister."
"Is it that he wants to live with his little sister, or does he want to go eat fried chicken at his little sister’s place, hmm?" Qin Nanyu’s tone was calm, but every word seemed to reveal his clear understanding of his son.
The butler: "..."
Indeed, Young Master Yu’s exact words were about going to his little sister’s place to eat fried chicken.
Not only that, he stood on the living room couch, hands on hips, and complained about Qin Nanyu for quite a while.
From not finding him a mother to not getting him a little sister, and finally breaking into tears complaining about not being able to eat fried chicken—"Why is it that all the other four-year-olds have mothers who let them eat tasty food, and I only have a ’Devil Daddy’?"
And he loudly proclaimed he would eat fried chicken or else starve.
Then he locked himself in his room and indeed starved all day.
The butler couldn’t coax him out, resulting in the scene Qin Nanyu now faced.
"The day before, Young Master Yu was fine and even ate more than usual. I even told the old master that Young Master Yu might be growing," the butler said sadly.
"He really grows up, comparing himself with his little sister, who can charm and sweet-talk. Can you do that?" Qin Nanyu scoffed.
It was visibly evident the little guy felt indignant and pursed his lips, looking like he wanted to argue, but remembering he was still pretending to faint, he could only hold it back.
Unfortunately, from the butler’s angle, this scene was invisible.
Still nervously, the butler asked Qin Nanyu, "Young Master Yu, are we really not calling an ambulance? Young Master Yu has fainted from hunger!"
Such a young child fainting from hunger is no trivial matter!
"No need." Qin Nanyu’s eyes flickered momentarily, after hearing the butler’s account of today, and he reached to open the bedside drawer.
