Chapter 243 - Chapter 243 127 Respond to Me Enemy

Chapter 243: 127 Respond to Me, Enemy Chapter 243: 127 Respond to Me, Enemy What could an agricultural planet possibly have?

Beautiful towns with at most tens of thousands of permanent residents, endless fully mechanized farms, sightseeing bubble ships slowly drifting overhead now and then, and that huge billboard next to the wheat field.

On the billboard, large slogans were written:

Ram Star, the Star of Relaxation.

A black and white police hovercar was parked under this billboard.

Inside the car, explosive music played as the middle-aged officer in the driver’s seat swayed his broad waist to the rhythm. The young cop in the passenger seat wore a look of utter despair, facing an early retirement decades ahead.

This was the scene Yang Ming was witnessing at the moment.

Yang Ming sat in a sightseeing bubble ship, floating five or six meters above the ground, enjoying unobstructed views of the scenery from all angles.

His eyes were on that police car.

The chubby uncle from the Guel Alliance beside Yang Ming tried to spark up small talk several times, but Yang Ming kept snapping away with an “entry-level” 3D camera without engaging in conversation.

A bubble ship could accommodate six people.

Yang Ming was the only young person aboard, making him seem somewhat out of place.

A few faint lines of text scrolled across Yang Ming’s glasses–messages from Lyu.

[Boss, that police hovercar could serve as a network access point.]

[Generally, in these small places with limited funding, police networks don’t have high levels of protection.]

[A pretty good breakthrough point.]

Yang Ming nodded imperceptibly, indicating he understood.

The question now was how to jump off this fully enclosed sightseeing “bubble” without arousing suspicion from those around him.

Yang Ming pondered slightly.

He could only stay on Ram Star for three days, after which he needed to follow his predetermined itinerary and head to Aurelio Star for a half-month visit.

His first goal was still to acquire the fortified serum formula.

Yang Ming had some leads on this already; a semi-military, semi-pharmaceutical biological research institute on Aurelio Star might have such a fortified serum production line.

This trip to the New Federation seemed fraught with coincidences, but there was only one true coincidence.

–Yang Ming wanted to retreat and give up entering Ram Star when he encountered a merchant ship transporting the Valkyrie’s remains.

The necrotic cell cluster, painstakingly obtained by the New Federation CIA, was shipped to Ram Star.

Yang Ming, using a series of jumps by the Feinan, stealthily entered the New Federation, aiming to smoothly reach Aurelio Star, and sought a breakthrough on the seemingly ordinary Ram Star.

Both encounters happened to coincide.

This timing was too aptly crafted.

Before the official action, Yang Ming and Lyu thoroughly discussed this issue.

“Lyu… It almost feels like a force is guiding me here to explore the secrets of Ram Star.”

“But Boss, no matter how you view it, this is still a low-probability event.”

Lyu maintained a fully rational perspective:

“Also, the timing of the Valkyrie’s remains theft coincidentally aligns with our visit here.

We were attracted by Aurelio Star; Ram Star is an appendage and extension of Aurelio. Your sense of coincidence is due to the resonance with the necrotic cells of the Valkyrie.”

“No, Lyu, the timing is just too coincidental. Don’t forget, to a high-dimensional civilization, almost anything is possible. They could intervene without our awareness.”

“Then, Boss, what would be their motive to interfere with us? Science stands against deterministic fate.”

Lyu earnestly queried.

Yang Ming momentarily lacked a response.

He couldn’t very well say that his emergence in the world depicted by the “Abyss,” usurping Hanton, an Empire officer’s body, was already a grand enigma.

This highly coincidental event at hand might very well be part of that enigma too.

“Regardless, let’s see if we can discover the secret here.”

Yang Ming used this statement to conclude the discussion.

Lyu’s action plan was to first spend half a month on Aurelio Star to accomplish the highest priority task before visiting Ram Star for three days.

However, when finalizing the route, Yang Ming reversed the sequence of the two.

He wanted to probe Ram Star first.

Whether or not he made any gains, he’d depart in three days.

The sightseeing bubble ship was about to float over the billboard.

Yang Ming seemed to casually lower his hand, lightly touching the cabin wall with his just-updated wristwatch.

Lyu immediately released interference.

The bubble ship began to slow and lower in altitude, heading toward the top of the billboard.

“Whoa! Is our ship slowing down a bit?”

The old lady in the front seat, noticing the altitude change, loudly exclaimed,

“Look quick! We’re about to hit it! That billboard ahead!”

The five other passengers on board immediately reacted.

The chubby uncle next to Yang Ming quickly asked, “Are we overweight? Is it because we’re overweight?”

“We’re going to crash.”

“Relax, ladies,” chuckled an elderly gentleman, “This could be a little show they designed for us–a one-of-a-kind travel welcoming ceremony to spice up our dull souls, like a scare ride at a theme park… Madder! We really are going to crash!”

“Help!”

“Hey, you policemen below, help us! Are you blind?”

“Oh, great god of wisdom and science, please forgive me for not donating to the church these past three weeks.”

The bubble ship leaned slowly toward the billboard.

The elderly passengers left their seats and started patting the cabin walls incessantly.
