Chapter 60: Chapter 57: The Master of the Crownless King
As it turned out, Jinx’s previous fear of Domit harming Bai Yan was completely unwarranted.
Jinx was unaware of Bai Yan’s increased strength, and Domit had no idea he was provoking a purebred Abyss Demon!
As one exiled by the Abyss, Domit was unable to resist the imposing aura of an Abyss Demon.
If he were stronger than Bai Yan, maybe he could put up a fight, but Domit’s strength was at most on par with that of a Level 1 Abyss Demon, even slightly inferior. How could he withstand Bai Yan’s demonic pressure?
"What do you want with the Blood Cross? Are you sent by the Dark Council?"
Bai Yan stood up, his expression exceptionally cold and evil, calmly staring at Domit with his pitch-black pupils.
"I..."
Cold sweat seeped continuously from Domit’s face, turning pale with terror. He was petrified, unable to control the trembling of his own body. The powerful demonic aura emanating from Bai Yan overwhelmed his thoughts, leaving him unable to answer Bai Yan’s question.
"What a nuisance."
Bai Yan shook his head with a sigh and snapped his fingers.
A demonic contract appeared out of nowhere, manifesting from the dark mist into a pitch-black parchment and a quill pen that floated in front of Domit.
"Sign it."
Bai Yan’s eyes were pitch-black, his voice low, as if carrying a strange magic power.
Domit’s body trembled all over; he looked up at Bai Yan in terror and picked up the quill pen involuntarily, signing his name on the demonic contract.
Demon Contract, signed successfully!
Domit, the crownless king of Mo City and the Dark King of the underground forces, "Blood Hand" Domit!
Now he has fully submitted to Bai Yan, becoming a loyal Demon Slave.
From now on, Bai Yan is the master of the crownless king of Mo City!
The trembling and panicked expression on Domit’s face gradually returned to calm.
"Demon Contract..."
Domit muttered to himself, his eyes complex, his voice bitter.
Having signed the contract, he regained his ability to think and naturally knew he was completely at Bai Yan’s mercy, bound by his soul, whether he liked it or not.
The powerful and mysterious Demon Contract would make him a slave to this demon.
"Speak, why do you want the Blood Cross?"
Bai Yan sat down, his pupils returning to normal, lighting a cigarette, and casually inquired.
Dealing with Domit was even easier than Bai Yan had expected.
Bai Yan’s seemingly effortless subjugation of Domit was actually due to Domit’s overconfidence and underestimation of Bai Yan’s identity.
If Domit had sent his elite mercenaries and teams of gunmen to encircle and kill Bai Yan from the start, Bai Yan would definitely have been in grave danger, and if there were snipers involved in the ambush, Bai Yan might have died long ago.
Unfortunately, Domit chose to bring Bai Yan in person, fearing that Bai Yan would destroy and completely hide the Blood Cross in an act of mutual destruction.
All due to greed.
"Master, the Dark Council headquarters issued a bounty seven days ago. Anyone who retrieves the Blood Cross and returns it to Lord Disciple will receive a generous reward!"
"The rewards are rich and varied, including a portion of blood from a Duke of Blood Clan! If someone outside the Dark Council brings back the Blood Cross, Lord Disciple may even grant them a favor!"
Domit licked his lips with some regret.
After all, he failed to secure the Blood Cross; he would not obtain the blood of the Duke of Blood Clan, which could have helped him advance his bloodline and become a higher-level Vampire!
"And you, how did you know the Blood Cross was with me?"
Bai Yan asked indifferently.
"Master, I also participated in the battle for the ancient Hua Xia books. The vampires of Mo City were all commanded by me to join the fight. Jinx was not far away from me at that time, and I saw her pick up something. Unfortunately, the battlefield was too chaotic, and I couldn’t see clearly."
"Seven days ago, when the Disciple issued the bounty, connecting Jinx’s panicked and jubilant expression at that time, I guessed that it must have been Jinx who found the Blood Cross. Therefore, I had her brought over for questioning."
"Unfortunately, the Blood Cross was not with her, but I discovered that she had been in close contact with you these days. So, I boldly surmised that the Blood Cross must be with you."
"When I threatened Jinx with your life, the effect was surprisingly effective. I assured her that as long as I got the Blood Cross, I would not harm you, so she agreed to contact you."
Domit took a deep breath and said bitterly, "The rest, Master knows."
The king of the underground forces of Mo City, just like that, had submitted, and although the other party was a demon, Domit still felt somewhat depressed.
He realized that indeed he had been too presumptuous, and his ship had overturned in a gutter.
"Just that?"
Bai Yan nodded thoughtfully.
"Yes, Master, rest assured, I didn’t hurt Jinx, nor did I touch her! Jinx is from the Blood Clan of the Kellan family. If I had harmed or killed her, I would surely face retaliation from the Kellan family. All I wanted at the time was to get my hands on the Blood Cross."
Domit said earnestly to Bai Yan, not daring to deceive him but not wanting to be misunderstood by Bai Yan either.
Who knows what relationship Jinx has with the master?
If they liked each other, wouldn’t my life be completely messed up if I didn’t explain myself?
"Um, I understand."
Bai Yan stroked the hair of Jinx beside him and nodded lightly.
"Master, it’s my fault for not hiding the clues properly."
Jinx lowered her head, her voice a bit low, feeling anxious in her heart, afraid that the master would think she was too useless.
"It’s not a big deal—it’s not your fault."
Bai Yan shook his head.
It must be said, Domit does have some brains. With just a few simple clues, he was able to find the Blood Cross and even trace it back to Bai Yan.
If it were the people searching for the Blood Cross from the Dark Council that had made it to Mo City, they might be even more formidable and difficult to deal with than Domit.
"Master, about the Blood Cross..."
Domit took a deep breath and then said seriously, "Master, if the Blood Cross truly is in your possession, I suggest you return it to the Lord Disciples. Their methods are very strong! The Dark Council is a global Abnormal People Organization, a vast entity, countless times more powerful than I am!"
"Even I was able to trace it back to the master, and I think it won’t be long before the Dark Council catches wind of it."
Domit paused, then whispered, "Because, they have special Secret Techniques that can track down the general location of the Blood Cross. If I’m not mistaken, they must have already started searching around Mo City."
What a joke, I’ve put the Blood Cross in the System backpack, which is attached to the source of will on the Abyssal plane. No matter how powerful the Dark Council is, can it search within the Abyssal plane?
If the Dark Council really was that powerful, they probably wouldn’t have been expelled from the Abyssal plane.
"Um."
Bai Yan nodded, absent-minded and unconcerned about this matter, instead asking, "The Dark Council has thirteen Disciples, does each one of them have a Blood Cross?"
"Yes."
Domit was startled, then nodded, unsure why the master would ask such a thing—this is common knowledge known by all Abnormals around the globe!
The Blood Cross is an heirloom of the Dark Council. Although it’s not some kind of treasure with Divine Skills, it has a very special symbolic significance.
"I see."
Bai Yan nodded, putting out the cigarette in his hand. Domit, catching the hint, quickly offered him a cigar, "Master, would you like to try this? It’s an authentic product from Cuba; the taste is excellent."
"No need."
Bai Yan waved his hand, instructing, "I won’t be in Mo City much longer; the time for my study abroad is almost up, and I’ll be returning to the country soon. For now, press down on this matter, keep the Blood Cross information from leaking out, and don’t let anyone suspect it’s connected to me."
The Dark Council has a deep foundation and is extremely powerful.
Even with confidence in himself, Bai Yan would not provoke the Dark Council at this juncture—that would be an unwise move.
Right now, Bai Yan needs enough time to strengthen himself.
"Understood, Master."
Domit nodded, then couldn’t help but admire, "Master, your plan is brilliant! The Huaxia Abnormality Organization is globally recognized as the top Abnormal organization. The land of Hua Xia is a place foreign Abnormal organizations cannot easily step foot in. Once the master returns to the country, even if the Dark Council learns that the Blood Cross is with the master, they’ll have no recourse!"
Domit made a point of showing off his Hua Xia language skills; he wanted to leave a deep impression on the master and also to curry favor, given that the master is Hua Xia himself.
And to be honest, this guy’s Hua Xia language was quite authentic, with a hint of the Beijing dialect.
"A brilliant plan?"
Bai Yan smiled, noncommittal.
He had simply told Domit to divert the attention of the Dark Council. Bai Yan didn’t know that the Huaxia Abnormality Organization was considered the world’s best.
Could it be that it was just a lucky coincidence?
Bai Yan pondered, feeling that returning home to avoid the limelight while he was still relatively weak might be a good decision.
