Chapter 28: I’m F*cked!!!!
Lin Mu’s jaw loosened, an amused smile on his lips."I must say, this really is an impressive entourage." Lin Mu muttered beneath his breath, feeling bitter.
"System." he then muttered under his breath again, careful not to alarm his captors. "Can you translate their language yet? If I don’t talk to them soon, I think it won’t be long before these people skewer me alive."
The familiar, feminine voice of the system replied in a calm yet unhelpful tone.
«[I’m afraid you’ll have to wait a bit more] »
«[Currently, I am still in the process of analyzing their linguistic patterns.]»
«[ It will take more time before I can fully decipher their language with my limited abilities.]»
Lin Mu cursed silently, his earlier amusement quickly vanishing with the wind. ’More time?, are you kidding me!’
’ I thought you said you were supposed to be an Omniscient system that could grant me Nullity, yet your telling me your abilities are so limited that you can’t even decipher a simple alien language this quick enough! Just what are you useful for then anyway!’
«[Since it’s seems like your walnut sized monkey brain has already forgotten, most of myself has been locked away, I currently only have about 20% of my original capabilities left and that’s just my first up@$3# Error...Error..Error..]»
’ Huh?, What gives, why’d your voice suddenly cracked?’
«[.....]»
«[Nevermind that!, Just shut up and wait for me to finish!]»
«[When I’m done, I’ll tell you!]»
’ Are you kidding me!, by the time your done I’d already be dead!!!’ Lin Mu screamed in exasperation, unfortunately the system didn’t reply again after that, leaving him even more frustrated.
Before he knew it, The Serinerian warriors led him into a large, circular structure made of intricately woven plant fibers and hardened clay.
The moment he stepped Inside, he felt as if the temperature dropped noticeably, instead of the cool air feeling like a welcoming relief, Lin Mu felt as if he had suddenly been pushed into an icy blizzard when he saw several Serinerians with menacing auras staring at him in silence.
Lin Mu gulped at the sight, not expecting to be brought before so many hidden experts. ’... I’m gonna die here aren’t I..’ Lin Mu’s thoughts of escape instantly plummeted with his heart simultaneously. His eyes simply stared at the several old looking Serinerians that sat down on intricate mat like fabrics.
At the center of the room sat an older Serinerian, their Tribal head, adorned in ornate robes, decorated with shimmering scales and feathers. His presence was commanding, his piercing gaze cutting through Lin Mu like a searing blade.
The leading Serinerian from before, barked something in their alien tongue, his voice clear but now filled with visible reverence and devotion.
Before him, The old looking Serinerians began murmuring, their expressions ranging from curiosity to outright hostility. Lin Mu’s confusion and heart rate grew as the discussions intensified.
"I don’t understand a damn thing," Lin Mu muttered, glancing between the leader and the warriors who still held him firmly.
Feeling that his life might just end any moment now if he failed to do anything, he decided to take a gamble.
He raised his hands in what he hoped was a universal gesture of peace. "Look, I don’t want any trouble. I..i just wanted to help t-that’s all, C-can’t you se-see I’m not your enemy?" Lin Mu’s teeth chattered uncontrollably as he struggled to speak under the supposed elders cold gazes.
His words were met with silence. Lin Mu gulped down a mouthful of saliva not knowing what to expect, in that moment, he swore he could hear his own heart beat thumping like crazy.
His face was soon covered in perspiration in only a short while, Unfortunately for him, The Serinerians continued their discussion after a brief ten second pause.
Frustrated, Lin Mu tried again, pointing to himself and miming a rescue gesture. "Please, I don’t want to die!!!" Lin Mu neared his breaking point as his eyes moistened. He was still a child at heart even if he was considered an adult on the Blue planet, standing here and waiting as his fate was discussed right before his very eyes was obviously far too much for him to bear!.
As for why he was considered an adult on the blue planet, it was due to the fact that humanity had decided unanimously on making the age of adulthood 15 years to help fight back their decline in population. On the blue planet, relationships between those of Lin Mus age was highly sought after by the multiple governments and organizations on the blue planet to the point of someone his age being a virgin to be looked down upon.
" Can’t anyone of you understand what I’m trying to say!!."
" I saved them!, Do you understand?, Saved them!" Lin Mu continuously tried to plead his case but to no avail.
The leader’s expression darkened when he saw Lin Mu making a scene before his superior’s.
Without hesitation, his voice rose, barking orders. The warriors around Lin Mu suddenly stepped closer, their weapons now drawn and aimed at him.
" Crap!" Lin Mu’s heart sank. He didn’t need to understand their language to know what this meant.
" They definitely think I’m a threat. These bastards aren’t going to let me go, they just wanna kill me!"
" There’s no way I can just die here! I gotta get out of here!" Adrenaline surged through his veins as he quickly assessed his options.
" I can just knock out one of these stupid guards before those old monsters can react! Their cultivation level may be higher than mine but I’m sure with that strange effect I pulled off while fighting the Anthroporal-Shark, I can at least disorient one quick enough." Lin Mu muttered to himself, his eyes a little bit hysterical. He thought of imploring the idea, only for another thought to come to mind. If he actually did this, that would only confirm their fears about him. Still, standing there and doing nothing would get him killed just the same.
Just as Lin Mu began to tense, readying himself for the inevitable fight, a commotion broke out at the entrance of the structure.
"Huh?, What are those two doing here?" Lin Mu’s eyes widened as the two riders he had saved earlier rushed into the room.
The two young women earlier, pushed through the gathered Serinerians, their faces flushed with urgency. Lian, her usually calm demeanor replaced by determination, stepped between Lin Mu and the warriors. Mei followed closely, her hands raised as she spoke rapidly in their language, her voice pleading before the Serinerian elders and Tribal head.
