Chapter 142: Chapter 83 Transforming God
The godmother of Huangpo Village, the girl whose hands had transformed into branches, overheard the conversation between this man and the two beasts. She looked as though she had something to say, but hesitated.
She knew all too well how dangerous Chen Yindou was. Back when he had been in the human world, he had to carry a green umbrella and was never without the towering presence of Great Snake Xuan Shan, which was the only way to suppress his Demonic Nature. If he were summoned now, without the restraint of Xuan Shan, she feared his Demonic Nature would flare up immediately, thoroughly destroying this place!
However, the godmother, although not weak, felt far too powerless compared to the three titans before her. Even as she overheard their plans to summon Chen Yindou, she dared not interfere.
Fortunately, the three titans weren’t reckless enough to summon Chen Yindou in the village.
"Summoning Master Chen outside would equally spell disaster," she blinked, watching them leave Huangpo Village.
Granny Sha, green sheep, and the bearded giant came to the outskirts of the village. The green sheep urged, "Stop walking, this place will do. Granny, hurry and summon old Chen!"
Granny Sha shot him a disdainful glance, "Do you think it’s like calling a ghost? Old Chen has entered the underworld in flesh and practiced the Corpse Resolving Immortal’s Water and Fire Refining. It’s impossible to summon him back, but we can use the pull of the summoning to get ourselves sent to the underworld to see him!"
A thought flickered in her mind, and her shadow under the moonlight suddenly grew in all directions, becoming menacing and claw-like.
Her five shadows stood up, transforming into the Five Ghost Kings, standing at the ready with arms crossed.
After Granny Sha issued her commands, the Five Ghost Kings howled away to transport the magical altar.
Before long, the Five Ghost Kings brought the magical altar. The altar was divided into three layers; the lowest layer had flags, each inscribed with talismans of the Five Sacred Mountains, Four Seas, and Four Rivers, placed at its corners.
The lantern light shone on these flags, and the shadows of the Five Sacred Mountains, Four Seas, and Four Rivers appeared hovering around the altar.
On the middle layer, there were twenty-eight constellation lamps, each seven inches tall and forged in the images of the star gods, with a star chart behind them, depicting various stellar symbols. When lit, the structure of the star symbols was projected into the air.
The highest layer had spirit banners of Azure Dragon, White Tiger, Vermilion Bird, and Xuanwu, woven with patterns of the four divine creatures and a ring made of talismans, shining in the light, bringing to life the divine radiance of the sacred beasts.
Granny Sha stood on the third layer of the altar, arranging various magical instruments, and said, "Come up here, and accompany me to see old Chen."
The bearded giant hesitated at her setup and said, "I have the Fox Clan to look after, with the lives of the entire clan in my hands. Granny, can we rely on this method?"
Granny Sha scoffed coldly, "Old Hu, if you’re scared, just say so. Don’t use the Fox Clan as an excuse. This Praying Truth Altar and Reverse Summoning Method might be a bit unorthodox... but can’t you trust me?"
The bearded giant and green sheep stepped onto the altar.
Granny Sha instructed them to each hold three sticks of incense, saying, "We offer three sticks because they are for The Three Pure Ones. As we descend to the underworld, we are still mortals and might attract the notice of spirits. The slightest carelessness could result in death in the underworld."
The bearded giant shivered, his grip on the incense unsteady.
Granny Sha continued, "Therefore, we must first transform into divine beings. Become like ghosts and spirits."
She pinched out a spell and chanted an incantation. Her energy surged through her body. Suddenly she touched the foreheads of the green sheep and the bearded giant, exclaiming, "Open your wisdom eyes, see ghosts and spirits!"
Both sheep and fox felt a painful sensation on their foreheads as a third eye appeared on each of their brows, rolling around and suddenly bringing the ghostly realms into view.
"Grow fierce fangs!"
Granny Sha pinched out the Fighting Seal, imprinting a mark upon each of their chins. Their teeth began to grow wildly, sprouting the ferocious fangs of divine spirits!
She then dispersed the Fighting Seal, transitioning to the Mountain Seal, and quickly touched their shoulders, shouting, "Grow three heads!"
New flesh sprouted from the shoulders of the bearded giant and green sheep, giving life to two additional heads!
Granny Sha changed to the Wu Fire Technique and touched both their shoulders and sides, exclaiming, "Gain Six Arms!"
Flesh and bone rapidly grew from their sides and shoulders, and in moments, four new arms appeared!
They now looked terrifying, like ghastly deities of the underworld!
Granny Sha took weapons such as a bow, arrows, swords, halberds, ropes, and seals, giving them to the transformed pair, and warned, "Once we’re in the underworld, you must stay close by my side. Should you stray too far, my spells will be broken. If the spirits there see through your disguise, even with heaven-reaching abilities, you’re on a one-way path to death, especially since I’ve offended many spirits in the underworld!"
She then took out a small, dragon-like incense burner resembling a mutant beast with a short body and a round belly, complete with a dragon head and a long neck, arching a dragon tail behind.
Its wide-open mouth and bulging, round eyes seemed to be gazing into the distance.
This object was the Chao Feng incense burner.
Granny Sha inserted a stick of incense into its forehead and handed a bundle of incense to the Five Ghost Kings, instructing, "The three of us will descend to the underworld. You must guard the incense altar, ensuring the incense in the burner never goes out, no matter if it’s day or night, rain or thunder. Should it burn out, replace it immediately. Understand?"
The Five Ghost Kings quickly acknowledged.
Granny Sha, still not fully assured, advised, "In the neighboring village lives a youngster named Chen Shi, who can see you. If he asks what you are up to, ignore him. That fellow has nothing but tricks up his sleeve!"
The Five Ghost Kings made a note of it.
Once Granny Sha had finished preparations, she immediately activated the magic.
Her appearance swiftly grew radiant, and she became younger and taller by the second. In just a short while, she transformed from a short, elderly granny into a youthful beauty, approximately fourteen or fifteen feet tall.
Her attire became exceedingly lavish, with silk ribbons fluttering and garments of silk and brocade. Her movements were graceful, and with every glance, her eyes sparkled with emotion.
