Chapter 335: Their Identity?

Chapter 335: Their Identity?

’Ugh... This is just even more shit that I now have to deal with. FUUUUUCCCCCKKKKK...’

I sighed end decided to throw everyone into two piles. The first would contain the bastards who wanted to ruin my life, and the other with everyone from the Sect.

I also made sure to make sure everyone was completely unconscious before hauling them around.

After tossing them into two separate piles without a care for their wellbeing, I lessened the power of my [Bloodline Suppression] and [Bloodline Aura] so that they could wake up soon.

In the meantime, I wanted somewhere to sit so that I could look down on them when they awoke, but unfortunately, there was no furniture here. Like at all. Seriously, there was nothing in here except the pillars and the door.

I could possibly manifest something out of my power and condense it into a more solid form, but I don’t want to tire myself out as that would probably drain my energy at a much faster rate, which would be bad as I have to also maintain this suppression field also during that time, and doing both would tire me out, giving them the upper hand in this situation.

So, even though I definitely had the energy to do such a thing, I decided to just simply wait it out instead and just loom over them like the Deity that I technically am when they inevitably wake up.

I don’t know how long that took, an hour? Maybe two? Either way, the members of the Sect were the first ones to wake up, probably because they were either more resistant due to worshiping the Goddess and likely feeling her Aura more often, or maybe because they weren’t under my own for as long or something. I don’t really care.

They took a little while to get their bearings and remember where they were, but the moment they saw me they began to prostrate before me. Not unexpected.

"Oh great prophet! We are so sorry for letting this happen to you! We do not deserve forgiveness for our sins! We-"

"Quiet." I cut them off before they could ramble on and on about my existence with a low yet commanding tone.

And like the good little acolytes they were, they followed my words immediately and shut up.

"I want to make one thing very clear though." They said something that irked my blood, more so than it probably should, but because I’m using my Bloodline’s authority, I think it’s amplifying it a fair bit. "I am not a prophet, nor some kind of vessel. I am the direct descendant of Astraa herself. You would do well to respect that."

That last sentence came out with a bit of a venomous edge to it, carrying the power and menace from my will and even my very being, instilling it into their very souls.

They shuddered and pressed their head to the floor, prostrating harder, if that’s even really possible at this point, and started to once again, profusely apologise.

"Enough. Just make sure to remember this in future." I honestly wasn’t in the mood to do anything to them.

Besides, they hadn’t exactly wronged me in any way, so I saw no reason to do anything untoward them.

Now, as for the bastards on the opposite side as them...

"Get up, I know you are awake dipshits." I called them out on their bullshit since I wanted to get out of here as soon as possible.

"So, care to explain yourselves?" I asked with a disinterested tone, yet one that still carried the pressure of the dunes themselves.

The ones that were awake tried to resist my power, attempting to stand upright and failing miserably in the process. It looked as if they’d never worked a day in their lives and had just been forced to lift a boulder with how their arms quivered like jelly.

And after a few attempts doing this, they quickly gave up, knowing that their efforts were futile in my presence.

They at least got out of the pile I tossed them into and did make an attempt to leave, but a simple glance was all it took to make them stop as they fell unconscious again for a few seconds.

I will say though, watching them try and fail repeatedly was kind of amusing. Not enough to make me forgive them, no nothing like that at all. It was just mildly amusing is all.

"Now!" I clapped my hands together drawing everyone’s attention to me. "What should I do in this situation, because quite frankly, I’m furious."

My voice was laced with a heavy underlying wrath that chilled the room with how calmly it came out.

The Sect members were silent, likely awaiting my judgement or command before they did anything. And as for these... I don’t actually know what or who they are still. Either way, they stayed silent all the same.

"Refusing to speak? That’s fine, you’ll get what’s coming to you regardless of what you say." With that threat now looming over their heads, I turned back to face the Sect members.

"So, what exactly are you lot doing here? What exactly did they say that warranted so many of you coming here?" I did note earlier when I was tossing the lot of them into a pile, there were what I thought an unusual amount of worshippers gathered here.

"Oh great heritor, we shall divulge to you, all the knowledge at our disposal, you need only ask. And to actually answer your question, we were told that a particularly dangerous and cunning demonically evil individual had slipped into society by possessing someone and was causing civil unrest on a large scale."

"We were told that they would deal with the individual and we would then be responsible for taking care of the individual afterwards in whatever way they deemed it necessary."

The woman I assumed to be their leader and the one who spoke up on their behalf as a group before explained all that to me which just made me hate these people even more.

"Okay... My hatred of them is increasing. Also, who exactly are these people? Like who are they in society."

"You don’t know?" The woman looked up at me in confusion, her expression questioning why I don’t, as if I should already know this.

I wasn’t in a good mood, and I felt somewhat insulted, so I just glared at the woman and she brushed the problem aside and did my bidding.

"Th-They’re the one’s who support the kingdom financially. Without them, the kingdom would likely have collapsed and been conquered by another nation by now. They’re essentially the backbone of the kingdom."

I had a feeling that there was something that she wasn’t telling me. "Is that all?" I inquired, my voice low and gritty.

"N-No..." The woman shuddered in defeat at being caught. And, reluctantly shared the last bit of information she had regarding my question with her head lowered in shame, "They are also the one’s that fund the Sect and our activities."

"..." My silence was deafening. The acolytes refused to speak up, most likely in shame, and these... I guess aristocrats, they were just refusing to talk to me, most likely due to being the self-centred bastards that they are.

I turned to look back at said aristocrats and addressed them once more, and this time, I was going to make them talk.

"You will not see your wealth or fortune aver again, in fact you may never see the sun or even live to the end of the day depending on what happens next."
