Chapter 300: Cursed Battle
Chapter 300: Cursed Battle
I slithered closer to exit of the tunnel and heard the shrewd and shrivelling voice of what I assumed to be the curse known as Shandrakazaa.
And as I slithered closer, I could obviously hear them getting louder, but I could also feel the presence of Shandrakazaa growing stronger and more powerful.
I didn’t go too far, in case she accidentally noticed me. I really should go and confront the both of them, but I have to know more, if it’s even possible they talk about anything.
"THEY WILL PAY! ALL OF THEM WILL PAY! I WILL MAKE THEM SUFFER FOR WHAT THEY’VE DONE!!!"
"Wait! There are a couple of people that have been nice to me, and have accepted me for who I am. I... Want to spare them..."
"... YOU ARE WEAK! YOU ARE PITIFUL! YOU ARE A DISSAPOINTMENT!!!" The curse screamed in rage as she flared up with an immense power.
"YOU ARE NO LONGER NEEDED. I SHALL GET RID OF YOUR CONSCIOUSNESS AND TAKE OVER YOUR SOUL AND DO THIS MYSELF! FINALLY! I WILL HAVE A BODY AGAIN!!!"
’Okay, I think I’ve heard enough. I’m not gonna let that happen.’
With that decided, I jumped out of the tunnel that I was hiding in and was not exactly prepared for what I saw next.
Laid out before me, was a giant pit which was situated in the middle of the five mountains, which I’m not all surprised by.
What I was surprised by was what seemed to be ruins of a house. Said house was actually still intact, though it had clearly been weathered down by the sands of time.
Then, floating above said ruins was a giant, sentient cloud of black smog, with two glowing red points which seemed to be eyes.
Eyes that were now locked onto me.
"What do we have here? Is this one of your little ’friends’ that you wanted to save? PATHETIC!" The curse screamed at me mockingly.
That was when Ash realised that I was behind her. She turned around and looked at me in horror.
"Why... Why are you here?" She asked in dismay.
"Because you’re my friend and I’m worried about you. And... Asty can’t survive without you..."
"What?"
Before I could explain to Ash though, the curse flared up and made a move on Ash.
"Enough! I’m taking your body now whether you like it or not! And you can’t stop me! Nothing! And Nobody will stop me from getting my revenge!"
The smog that was the curse then flew straight towards Ashtraz.
"NO!" I yelled as I reached out and put up a [Spatial Barrier] between the two, preventing Ash from getting possessed.
The Cursed smog crashed into the barrier with a grunt before it flared up again in anger.
"AARRGGHH!!! WHAT IS THIS ACCURSED THING?"
"Ash! Get out of here now!" I screamed at her.
But she remained where she was, seemingly having trouble with deciding on whether or not she should listen to me or not.
"I... I don’t..." She was clearly hesitant to say something, but then Shandrakazaa smashed through the barrier out of nowhere.
"RRRRAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!"
And before I could stop her again, she invaded Ash’s body. But before she could completely invade her body through the orifices on her face, I created a barrier surrounding her completely and used said barrier to pull her back behind me into the tunnel.
I then blocked the tunnel of by smashing at the entrance with my tail, causing it to collapse and block it off.
"NO!" The cursed smog screamed in anguish as she saw me take away her vessel and her escape.
And while she could likely get out of here from above, since she’s an incorporeal curse and all, I doubt she actually can, for the exact same reason.
She’s a curse. And a curse like her is bound to remain where she was created, which is here.
The curse screeched in a writhing anger as she now dashed over towards me in a crazed state.
’FUCK! How am I supposed to deal with something like this? I can’t just burn a curse to death, that’s not how they work.’
As my mind raced on figuring out how to get rid of her, my body dodged and weaved around each of her attempts to attack me, which was just limited to her lunging at me. At least for now anyways.
’ARGH! What am I supposed to do here? What CAN I do?’
’Let’s just calm down and think about this for a second. What do I have in my arsenal that could help me kill this curse?’
’OF COURSE! And if I combine the two things together, then maybe... SHIT!’
I narrowly dodged that last one. At least Shandrakazaa doesn’t seem to be able to do more than charge straight at me at least. Whether that’s because she lost a part of herself which is now stuck on the other side of the now closed of tunnel, or because she never had that much willpower in the first place. Or something.
But for my idea to work, I need to seal her into place, and to do that, then I have to use some of my spatial spells to do so.
The first thing I did was create my [Spatial Domain] and have it envelope the entirety of this area between the mountains and force all things in it that aren’t me to move as slow as I can possible make them.
And all of a sudden, it was like I was watching the curse move in slow motion. And fortunately for me, she wouldn’t be able to break this, since it’s not as tangible of an object.
Now let’s see about making it a hell of a lot smaller, and basically just confining her within. I have all the time in the world now that she can barely move.
Seriously, she’s barely even moving a few centimetres a second, that’s how slow she was in my domain.
Which I was now shrinking and compressing into a much smaller space whilst layering [Spatial Barrier]’s around it also, similar to what I did when Eric taught me how to control my power. Or at least see how well I could do it.
Except this was more of the reverse in some ways. I was compressing everything, but that was all I was doing really.
And it seemed that I wasn’t too great at said control, as I was actually taking all of the terrain and the ruins in also. Which soon forced me out of the bubble that I had created, which was good because it meant that I was safe from her now.
I was a little scared that whatever was currently inside of Ash would fully possess her , but I don’t think I need to worry about that since the collapsed rocks still seemed to be blocking the path, and I don’t think Ash is strong enough to break them easily, even with the power the cursed entity might give her.
But that didn’t matter right now, so I shook my head and focused on the task at hand, which was getting rid of this main part of the curse, which I think was around seventy-five percent of it, the rest having taken hold in Ash’s body.
Soon enough, the rubble of terrain and ruins, along with the cursed smog of Shandrakazaa was sealed away tightly inside of my domain, which was now around twice the size of my head.
Quite large, but small enough for me to attempt my plan for getting rid of her.
And said plan involved using [Curse of Lust] in tandem with my [Divine] Bloodline, specifically my Naga Bloodline.
So, I slithered over to the spatial orb that now contained the curse inside of it, and as I got closer, I could hear it screaming, though it was quite muffled since there were so many layers of [Spatial] Barrier over it.
"RRRRAAAAGGGHHH!!! RELEASE ME!!! I NEED TO KILL EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU FOR WHAT YOU DID TO ME!!!!!"
’Wow... She’s really angry about this. Whatever, it’s none of my concern.’
"Shandrakazaa." I spoke her name so that she would stop screaming and listen to me.
And thankfully she did quiet down, but she was still clearly seething about her current predicament.
"You are a blight on this world. And although I’m grateful you created Ashtraz, you have no good intentions for my friend. I need her... Asty needs her..." I began to vent my feelings a little at Shandrakazaa.
I then shook my head, trying not to become melancholic, "But you ruined all of that. You are a curse filled with nothing but hatred, and I suspect that the only reason that you are still alive is because nobody could find you and exercise you."
"... AHAHAHAHAHA!!! YOU THINK YOU CAN DO IT??? YOU!!! YOU ARE NOTHING BEFORE ME!!!"
"You’re wrong. I am far, FAR greater than you in every sense. If I were to turn into something like you, I wouldn’t be a mere curse, I would be a natural calamity." I pressed my face up close to the orb as I stared Shandrakazaa down.
And what I said was true. If I ever became anything like her, I would be a true blight on this world, a true calamity. As for why I was saying any of this? It was to hurt her ego, which she clearly has. And it was working, almost too well.
She started to scream and flail her smoggy body all over the inside of the orb, going insane, which is exactly what I wanted.
Now that she was extremely unstable, I should be able to oppress her a lot easier with my counter measure.
