Chapter 245: Spatial Clash

The man’s hand clashed with my [Spatial Barrier], creating a shockwave that sent him flying backwards.

When he got up again, he looked over at me with shock.

"I-Imp... I-Impossible..." He muttered as his hood fell down the back of his head, revealing his face.

It turns out that he was a human with scruffy blond hair and an equally scruffy and unkempt beard with blue eyes. At least I think he’s human.

And for some reason, that irked me. And I could tell that there was more than one reason that it irked me. But the feeling was so muddle that I couldn’t make sense of it.

"H-How... How are you capable of using that magic!? TELL ME!!!" He demanded screaming.

He was starting to get on my nerves a bit with his constant childish whining and entitlement.

So I decided to let out a portion of my Aura to intimidate him.

"Why should I tell you?"

He clenched his fists and got back up, staring at me with contempt. His body was trembling with rage as he stared at me, his eyes furrowed with frustration.

"Y-You... You... YOU!!! RRRAAAGGGGHHHH!!!" He made a mad dash towards me as he roared in anger.

My barrier was still up, but I decided to instead dispel it and fight with him to get used to these powers more, since he seemed to be able to use them so well.

This would give me a chance to learn more [Space] attributed skills and get used to my own.

He quickly reached me and I was easily able to dodge and weave between his attacks because I was just naturally much faster than him.

And as he threw his many punches and some kicks my way, I was focusing on how he was using it and came to realise that his finesse when it came to imbuing his fists with the spatial element was perfect.

I squinted my eyes, knowing that I could learn a lot from this man. So, I knew what my next course of action was.

I stopped dodging and caught his fist in my left palm. He was startled by how easily I had stopped his attack but then smiled.

My eyes squinted once more and I just gave my own smile in return as my hand suddenly burst into flames of the same colour as what was covering his hands.

He immediately backed off upon seeing my fist burn with those flames in what I assumed to be fear.

Upon backing away enough distance, he started to break down.

"No, no, no, no, no, no!"

Jeez, what’s his problem? I mean, I know that me being able to use this power is shocking and all, but like why is he acting so... Deranged? About it?

"Th-This can’t be h-happening!! This isn’t supposed to h-happen!!"

’The hell’s he blabbering on about? Well, it’s whatever. I guess I can use this to try and get a hold of another spell.’

And that spell was [Spatial Shift]. I have no idea how this works or how to use it, so I might as well use this opportunity to learn how it works.

Looking at the skills description, it says that it works like a three-dimensional map, with myself being the centre point.

I had to visualize this map like it was made of cubes, because the spell only worked with metres, so I had to visualize the dimensional map like a world made of metre cubes.

I then had to imagine my current location within that map and then my desired location, and use my affinity for [Space] and bend it to my will to move me between locations.

It was actually a lot more complex and intricate than that, but this is [Space] magic after all. That was just the best way I could explain it with my current understanding of how it worked.

Anyways, I activated the spell and felt the world around me warp slightly, and I felt the same kind of sensation that I felt when I went through that portal brought me back to the desert, but nowhere near as intense.

And when the sensation faded, I was now towering before the blond haired man who could use [Space] magic like myself.

He was startled by my sudden presence before him and jumped back in fright with an ear piercing screech.

"HHHIIIIIIIII!!!!!"

He was now clearly terrified of me with the way his face perspired, making his hair glisten with sweat.

"S-S-S-Stay b-b-back! I-I-I’m warning y-you! I-I have a t-t-trump card!" He cried pitifully, trying to threaten me.

So I decided to tease him before ending his life because quite frankly, he’s pissed me off with his bullshit.

"But I haven’t even gone all out yet." I said in a somewhat coquettish and cutesy voice as I tilted my head and placed a finger on it. "In fact, that’s not even the most powerful I can be, or even my most powerful form!"

And upon hearing that, he fell flat on his ass as he trembled beneath me. I couldn’t help but feel immensely satisfied at his reaction, which is odd for me. Maybe my [Divine] blood is affecting my demon to act up as well? I hope not.

Either way though, this was extremely fun. But before I could make another move to tease this man, he seemed to have regained clarity and focus as he shook his head and stood back up, albeit in a very shaky manner.

His fists then glowed with the [Space] element once more as he got up and got ready to fight.

"Good~ I was hoping to learn more from you. I would’ve been extremely disappointed if that was all you could offer me." I then prepared myself to resume fighting once more and covered my fists in [Astral Flames] and engaged with him.

We threw several fists at one another, dodging and deflecting them. And all the while I studied his usage of the spell covering his fists to learn how to better utilise my own.

And after several minutes, he finally decided to try something different as he suddenly disappeared from view.

I instantly cast a [Spatial Barrier] behind me and prepare for him to come from either my left or my right.

And my instincts were proven right when I heard him smash his fist against my barrier, so I turned around and threw a quick punch with my left hand at him as I dispelled my barrier, but he just disappeared again.

This time, instead of putting up a barrier, I decided to see if I could sense his movements and used my new skill [Mana Vision].

I could only see in front of me so I closed my eyes and spread my senses outwards like a wave of mana.

And I saw it, a slight distortion in space of to my side and behind me, so I threw a punch in that direction.

*BANG*

My fist clashed with a barrier much like my own. The man then used that to push himself back and away from me.

"Hehehe..." He chuckled lightly with his head lowered before he burst out laughing, "Hahahaha! Ah... Sorry, that was weird. But I have to thank you for that."

His voice now sounded not like a prepubescent boy and more like a young, maturing adult. So I stopped and asked him why he sounded so different.

"Ah, right. I should probably explain that. So, I have a very special circumstance which I cannot tell you about or else there will be dire consequences for it, but what I can tell you is that my mind was locked in a child-like state."

I looked at him in confusion and asked him to elaborate.

"Well, you see, due to those special circumstances, I was locked in that child-like mindset, and I needed that egg to get out of it and back into what you see before you now. I don’t need it anymore though thanks to our scuffle having filled those requirements."

After explaining all of that, he just started to walk away as if nothing happened.

"Oh, and sorry for the way I acted during that childish state, I wish I could control it more to be less uh... Entitled, but that’s the mind of a child for you. Again, sorry for that, but also thanks for helping me get out of it."

"Wait!" I yelled as I reached out towards him.

He turned around and looked at me with intrigue. "Yes? Is there something wrong?"

"Could you... Teach me?"

"What? [Space] magic?"

"Yeah..."

"Hmmm..." He closed his eyes and scratched his beard as he thought about it. "You know what? Sure, you seem like you have potential. But I’d like to request something in return if that’s okay."

"Uhh... If it’s something I don’t feel like-"

"It’s okay you don’t have to accept my demands, I’ll teach you anyways because I feel like it. As for the request itself, all I need from you is..."
