A Serpent's Tale
Chapter 241: Birthday

Chapter 241: Birthday

But before I took my exams, I took the week of Elunthar off since I would be celebrating my birthday on Lunira the thirteenth.

And I told all my new friends about it as well. I also told them not to worry about anything besides showing up for my birthday, which should be easy since it wasn’t a school day.

I would also be taking the rest of the week of to just generally enjoy myself and relax, which is a good thing since the exams are next week, so having a calm mindset would be good for that.

And the day of my birthday finally came.

I woke up with immense vigour, as I would finally celebrate my birthday after so long, and with friends no less.

We’d already discussed what we would do for my birthday last week, or rather how it would pan out, with all of us getting up early to bathe earlier than we normally would and have an early breakfast before going out and spend the day having fun.

I got up at around eight in the morning and went to the baths to clean up for the day.

Of the four of us, I was the only one in the eldest baths. With Astryza in the youngest and David and Ashtraz in the one below mine.

I made sure to thoroughly clean myself, from my hair, to my skin to even the scales on my tail, something I don’t do that often since it’s quite redundant to do so.

Anyways, I finished cleaning just as some more people came in.

And of course it had to be the weird bitch. Thankfully she didn’t see me yet as she was too busy talking too her friends, so I managed to get out of her sight and slink past her whilst she wasn’t looking to go dry myself off and promptly get out of here and into the dining hall.

And when I got there, I saw my friends sitting over at a table waving at me to come and join them.

I quickly got some breakfast, filling a medium sized plate as I knew we were going to eat a lot today.

But when I got there, I was not expecting the sight that I saw.

"Happy Birthday!" The three of them cheered for me, and on the table was a small cake with the word’s happy birthday on it and eighteen candles, likely to represent the eighteen decades I’ve been alive for now.

It was so heart-warming that I started to cry from happiness. When was the last time someone cared for me as much as this?

I carefully put my plate down as tears streamed down my constantly smiling face, with a smile so wide that it went from ear to ear. Literally.

I had to cry my heart out for a few minutes because of how emotional I was feeling.

Thankfully they were all kind enough to comfort me with just some hugs and pats that just warmed my heart up even more.

And when I was mostly done crying, I thanked them profusely for this.

David rubbed the back of his head and admitted, "It was nothing really, we just wanted to at least do SOMETHING for your birthday, and this is what we came up with. We had help from the chefs though."

"Still, thank you." I continued thanking all three of them through my tears.

"Well, we couldn’t NOT do anything for your birthday. I know you just wanted us to show up, but we would’ve done that anyways, so we wanted to do a little something extra." Ash further elaborated.

"Yeah! And I suggested a cake!" Asty chimed in with a super big smile on her face like I did.

"Still, thank you all. You don’t know how much this means to me." I was still crying despite having gotten most of my tears and emotions out by now.

"Think nothing of it. It IS your hundred and eightieth birthday after all. Not the biggest milestone ever but still, it’s worth celebrating at least once every Decade." Ash commented.

"Yeah..."

"Now quit crying and blow out the candles already! Make a wish!" David goaded in somewhat of a big brother kind of way.

My smile brightened as I made my wish and blew out the candles.

"What’d you wish for!" David asked with some excitement.

I laughed and told him, "I can’t tell you, that would ruin the magic!"

"Aw come on!~ You can tell us right? We’re friends after all!" He kept pushing.

I kept laughing and reaffirming my statement, "No! If I tell you, it won’t come true."

We had a good laugh over Davids’s persistence, but in the end ate our breakfast and finished by having a slice of cake each before heading out and into the city for some fun.

And we indeed did have a lot of fun as we went to the entertainment district, which housed many different activities, nearly all of which catered to serpentine exclusively. Which made sense considering well over half the population is either a Lamia or a Naga of some sort.

To end the evening off, we went to a pub and had a celebratory meal and some drinks to finish the day off. Asty had her first taste of alcohol whilst the rest of us had at least a few drinks.

I had so much fun hanging out and playing with friends, getting food from the stalls whenever we were hungry and more that I was almost sad to see the day end.

Even though I had to pay for practically everything, I wasn’t fussed in the slightest, as the time I spent with my new friends was more important to me than throwing away a few measly coins.

When we got back to the orphanage, the four of us celebrated with a hearty feast as we stayed up a bit later than normal to hang out some more.

And when we were done and turned in for the night, I fell asleep rather quickly as I was worn out from the amount of fun and activities that we did that day.

The dreams I had, which were more like recollections really, were also a great experience, as it felt like I was experiencing the day all over again.

Over all, this was probably the best birthday that I could’ve ever ask for.

And when I woke up the next morning, I was still feeling extremely giddy and hyper because of the lingering emotions from yesterday.

So, I did the same as yesterday and got washed before going out to get breakfast, arriving at the dining hall at around a quarter to ten.

And upon entering the hall, I could see Ash still eating her breakfast, so after filling my plate to full, I went over and joined her.

"Morning!~" I greeted cheerily.

"Morning to you to." She greeted back before commenting, "You seem cheery today."

I replied in a still upbeat tone, "Yup. Still on a bit of an emotional high from yesterday that doesn’t seem to have quite worn off just yet."

"Good for you. Don’t expect everyone to follow you if you intend to go out again. Asty is too tired so she’s going to be staying in today and David has something personal to take care of. So really, it’s just us today. And I don’t mind going out with you again, especially if we can go deeper into that entertainment district."

She explained the circumstances of the other two, which is understandable. I don’t mind at all, everyone has their own lives, so long as you can be happy and cherish what and who you have with you.

As for her suggestion that ended with a bit of a sultry tone and a suggestive expression which included her licking her lips sensually.

I smiled and gave off a slight seductive aura of my own and agreed with her, "I think that’s a wonderful idea~ Let’s go after I finish my breakfast and I can maybe even show you the pleasures that I can give~"

My words had an immediate effect on her, as even with her darker skin tone, I could easily see her blushing as she turned to look away from me whilst covering her mouth with her hand.

I giggled slightly at her embarrassment and started to eat, otherwise my food would go cold and stale. And I would need a full stomach for what we were going to spend the rest of the day on.

I actually had to drag a blushing Ash out of the orphanage by hand to even bring her over to the red-light district, which was sparsely populated as it’s more of a night time location than it is a day time one.

Either way, I managed to drag her here to have an after party if you would, filled with all kinds of sex and debauchery.
