Chapter 235: Admission

When the next morning came, I woke up and found myself lying on the hard ground of the barren landscape surrounding the city. I felt sticky all over and that the floor was covered in the same type of substance.

Lying next to me was the Duchess in a similar state, although she looked more like she had been soaked in cum rather than showered in it like me.

I used [Life Absorption] to basically just clean myself off without draining everything in the area, even though it would probably be a hug boon in terms of EXP. But the consequences of that would likely be a lot of people waking up and asking questions.

With that don, I sat up and looked at my surroundings and saw that everyone was still fast asleep, and by the looks of it, they wouldn’t be waking up anytime soon. I could also see that there was still a lingering pink mist.

Whoops, looks like I let out too much last night so they’ll most likely be ready to fuck the moment they wake up.

Either way, everyone else was asleep and that gave me the perfect opportunity to get out of here unnoticed.

So I slowly and carefully navigated my way around them, doing my best not to accidentally nudge or lay my tail upon anyone, having to raise myself up and over some people because there was no other way out of here.

And at one point whilst doing that, I had just land on the other side of a Lamia when she started to stir awake.

Fortunately it didn’t seem to have been caused by me and she was just waking up normally. Which is fair because the sun was up and just about starting to crest over the stone wall which surrounded the party area still for some reason.

I would’ve thought that it would’ve been taken down by now, but seeing the pink aphrodisiac mist around, maybe they kept it up to let it disperse.

The eyes of the Lamia in question fluttered open as she turned her gaze up to me whilst shielding her eyes with her arm.

She looked at me with a questioning gaze and I just put a finger over my mouth and made a shushing motion, to which she responded by closing her eyes and turning her head away from the sun.

I sighed in relief and hastened my pace in getting out of here, or at least to the edge before getting out of here with my own [Earth Manipulation].

Come to think of it, how did I get that? I don’t remember learning it at all so it must be part of my sealed memories... Just how often am I going to run into this issue? I know I shouldn’t dwell on it, but the number of times it keeps happening is concerning.

I’m not going to dwell on it as advised, but still, it’s annoying knowing about it. But if I didn’t know about it, then I would more than likely try and look into it, which is a bad idea.

Regardless, I needed to get out of here before anyone else woke up, so that’s what I did. So, I used my [Earth Manipulation] to create a small hole in the giant wall, just big enough for me to fit through before I closed it back up.

And to my luck, I happened to be facing slightly away from the city gates, not far away enough to be so I could just enter easily without too much suspicion.

Once back into the city, I went back to my room in the guest house to take a bath and properly clean myself up. Afterwards, I then left the guest house and headed over to the orphanage to see if they had accepted my application or not.

When I arrived there, I saw a pair of older Naga’s inquiring about adopting, which is rather rare to be honest.

It was a female and male couple to be exact, neither of them wearing much apart from some jewellery here and there.

Seeing a male Naga was kind of surprising, given the gender birth ratio of Naga’s being heavily in favour of female’s and futa’s, but seeing him with just one woman by his side was more surprising since men are a hot commodity in our species and usually have women flocking all over them because of that fact.

But, that was none of my business so I quietly took a seat off to the side and waited for them to be done before I went up to the receptionist.

"Welcome, for what reason have you come here for?" She greeted with a cheery attitude. It wasn’t the same woman as before though, not that it mattered really.

"Yeah hi, I came over today to see if my admission into the orphanage was accepted?"

"Alright, could you tell me your name so that I can check?"

"Of course, It’s Traytora Arizaraa."

"Okay, let me just check the ledger real quick." She then took out a ledger and opened it up and going to the end of it, likely searching by most recent admissions.

"Ah, yes, here you are."

"Well, does it say anything?"

"Yes, it says you have been admitted into the Krara City Orphanage without problems. You can move in as soon as you are ready."

"Can I move in today? I’m staying in the guest house by the west gate as I only arrived here less than a week ago."

"Then yes you may. Though, it may or may not take a few hours to get everything organised since it is very early in the morning."

"That’s fine, I need to go back and return the key to the guest house anyways."

"Alright. Well, come back before lunch time and we should have everything sorted out for you, okay?"

"Thank you."

"Your welcome, and I do hope you enjoy your time here in the orphanage and the amenities provided!" She said cheerily as she waved me off.

I nodded and thanked her again as I waved back and left to return my key to the guest house and collect any of my belongings that I might have left behind by mistake.

On my way back though, I decided to get some breakfast, as I was starving after last night. I got some large meat kebabs for a low price of a single silver.

I had eaten the whole thing by the time I got back.

And upon arriving back at the guest house, I went back and did a sweep of my room there, finding that I hadn’t actually used anything there to store my things since my [Spatial Storage] had a volume limit of a hundred cubic metres.

And the best part is, it isn’t an actual cube of space. It’s more like a pocket dimension that can hold that much in volume rather that a defined space, allowing me to just grab whatever I want or need out of it without having to sift through everything if it was all just dumped in a pile.

Regardless, I went back to the front desk of the guest home and returned my key, explaining that I had found a place to live and was moving in.

The lady at the desk asked some questions like if I had packed everything and was ready to move out, to which I said yes. She then asked some more questions which I answered honestly before she thanked me for staying and let me go.

I thanked her back for being able to stay here and left since there wasn’t anything else for me to do or say in that situation.

With that, I would now officially be part of the orphanage and receive all the benefits, like free food and shelter as well as free education courses made exclusively for serpentine.

Though, the education would more than likely have to wait for a new semester to start so that I can be part of the curriculum rather than just join midway through as that’s just a hassle for everyone involved.

And fortunately for me the minimum amount of time you can have an education for whilst in the orphanage is twenty years, just enough time for me, as orphans could only have an education course based on the amount of time they’d be classified as an orphanage.

Any time after that will have to be paid for, which for most would mean getting a loan, not for me though. But I don’t intend to pay for more education as that can get REALLY expensive depending on what course you take and for how long.

Anyways, I should be thinking about this right not, I should just enjoy the free time that I have while I have it, and that starts with getting some lunch!

And I ended up going back to the same kebab stand as before, this time buying five instead of three.

After that, I just wandered around aimlessly for a bit before heading back to the orphanage to be properly admitted into it.
