Chapter 224: A Boring and Tedious Task

I grabbed the tongue of this things and began dragging it out of its mouth, turning back to paralyse it once more when I realise that I could just use my venom to do that instead. And I just so happen to have some vulnerable and easily pierceable flesh in my hands.

Meaning that I can just inject venom into this tongue and paralysing it without having to look back! Though, I have no idea how long this thing is so I’d have to pump a lot of paralysis venom into it, which will take a while, but I have nothing better to do.

Currently I was holding onto the girl shaped figure on the end of this tongue, so I pulled some more and got to the actual slime ridden part of the tongue and bit into it and started to inject paralysis venom into it as I pulled the tongue out.

And after like half an hour of doing that, my teeth and my glands started to hurt so I stopped, and just as an extra precaution, I turned around and used my eyes on it once again, just to be safe.

During that time, I had managed to fully pull the tongue of this thing out of its mouth and began to pull on it to drag its body out from under the sand.

It took a lot of effort, but I did manage to shift it a small bit, not a lot, but I did do it.

I looked up at the sun and sighed, knowing that it would probably take weeks, if not a month or two to actually drag this thing over to the city.

But I had decided to challenge myself with this, and it would be cheap of me to back out now. I didn’t want to kill it either as I’m sure it would sell for more then as well.

I know I said that I didn’t really care for the money, but I was kind of lying about that. I mean, who wouldn’t want more money? Plus, I would feel kind of bad if all I did was leech off of the money from the inheritance.

Not to mention, people wouldn’t question my wealth afterwards. I wasn’t really scared about people trying to steal from me since I managed to take this thing down by myself, which should act as enough of a deterrent to any thieves that might want to try.

But before all that, I still had to get it there. Which meant a hell of a lot more pulling. Yayyyyy...

Ugh, might as well take a look at my Soul Scroll while I do this just to pass the time and see the changes that have happened since the Illuminati.

’AH! MY EYES!’ I recoiled slightly at seeing such a large amount of blocky texts that made up all my Skills. My Class Skills were hidden as they didn’t grow as I hadn’t been using them recently...

’Actually, I don’t ever even remember getting them? Why do I have them?’ That was weird. Not remembering where I even got my Class Skills.

I know that Kronia sealed my memories because I would have an adverse reaction to the memories I sealed. But when I see things like this that I just cannot remember, it makes me want to see them to understand why I chose the path that I chose.

But... I also understand that these memories were sealed for a reason. What that reason actually is, I’m not quite sure, but based on the way Kronia acted whenever it came up, I can infer that they’re not good memories.

*Sigh* I guess I’ll have to leave that aside for now. But I should get my focus back onto my Soul Scroll and the many changes within it.

Obviously several of my skills have levelled up and some have even evolved. Though, some of them I’m surprised didn’t get such treatment.

The first one being [Petrifying Gaze]. I’m shocked that that didn’t level up at all, alongside [Deadly Fangs] and [Intimidation]. I know not everything can level up but I would’ve expected at least some of these to have levelled up.

Maybe the power when my Bloodline resonated with my own powers had a limit of some sort? Or maybe there’s a high ceiling for levelling up Skills or something. I don’t know.

Either way, I feel like what got improved was not as much as it should’ve been. And also, I feel like I need to find some ways of making this list smaller or else it will become too large to properly go through in the future. At least it will with the rate that it’s growing now.

Not to mention I still haven’t picked a main Class yet.

Actually that reminds me that I also need to decide which academic study I want to take when I get to Krara city.

But back to my Skills, I need to find a way to... I dunno, compress them into more singular yet encompassing Skills like [Pyromancy].

Hey wait a minute, why don’t I just do that? Yeah, if I can just find enough related Skills, I can try and fuse them all into one, making them all more powerful in the process too.

But... Where do I start? I mean, the only example I have of this is [Pyromancy], which is magic, so I can maybe try to fuse all of my [Elemental] Skills together?

Not right now of course, but maybe later when I enter the city and have managed to settle in there and found a good location to actually try to do that. Or just exit the city when the time is right.

That might be easier, but it would also draw a lot of attention.

Attention I don’t know if I want right now.

Then again, I plan to bring this thing back with me so I might not be able to escape attention either way.

And speaking of lugging this thing along, I’d managed to pull what I think is around half of its body out, and thankfully it was getting easier to pull as well. I just had to make sure to clear the sand in front of it away or else it will get lodged in a pile of sand sooner or later.

Currently, from what I could see, I had pulled out around twelve metres of worm out.

Guess all I can do is just pull away at this thing, keep it out of the sand once I’ve unearthed it and keep it paralysed. And to keep myself occupied by trying to shrink the amount of Skills that I have.

And when I get closer to the city, I can set off some [Fireball]’s in the sky to communicate for help. About halfway between where I am now and the city itself should be close enough.
