Chapter 170: Saying Goodbye

When I finally awoke again after passing out from all the sex that we’d had, I noticed that I was currently hugging my duplicate body, which was white. And sticky. And smelled of semen...

*Phew* "Wait what? What do you mean by that?"

"Well, I can’t stay up here forever, not just because I need to give your message to Lord Asmodeus, but also because I can’t stay up here too long without a purpose." She explained.

"Wait... What do you mean by ’without a purpose’ exactly?" I asked.

"Well, since you summoned me here, you never gave me a real purpose. Yes, you punished me for my insolent behaviour, but that was punishment, not purpose. Then you said that you wanted a messenger between dimensions, and I can’t be that if I can’t return. Also, staying in the mortal realm can be toxic to lower-level demons due to some bullshit laws of reality or something or other." She explained further.

"Oh... Okay..." I said in a depressed tone.

"H-Hey! It’s not like you can’t just call me up again, right? You can just summon me again at a later date, okay? J-Just let me deliver your message first!" She said with her hands on my shoulders, trying to cheer me up.

With tears building up in my eyes I yelled her, "How am I supposed to summon you again? And how long am I supposed to wait? I don’t want to be alone again!"

Her expression faltered and her grip loosened. She clearly didn’t know how to respond to that.

Silence descended upon the room until Lily spoke up like she normally does, but this time in my own, non-broken voice.

"I know that this might be hard for you Traytora, but you need to stay strong, okay? I promise that I will deliver your message, and that I will come back when you call me okay? Just, give me some time to deliver your message first, around a month or so, as I’ll also need to detoxify myself from the mortal realm’s energies."

"But- But what if I can’t summon you? What if you’re not available, or- or I just summon another demon?" I bewailed in sorrow and fear.

Lily embraced me in a hug and I burst out in tears on her, or rather my, shoulder, sobbing like I was never going to see her again, which I knew wasn’t true, but I just wasn’t ready to let her go just yet. I just couldn’t accept her leaving me so soon, I didn’t want to be alone again, not yet, I wasn’t ready.

"Please *Sniff* Please don’t *Sniff* L-Leave m-me *Sniff* I-I’m not *Sniff* I-I’m not r-ready yet." I choked on my words, begging her not to go.

She started to stoke the back of my head and started to console me, saying, "Shhh shhhh shhh, it’s okay, it’s going to be okay, I’ll be back eventually. And look, if you’re really that worried about it, then I can give you something to make you feel better."

"W-W *Sniff* What?"

She pulled back and gave me a gentle smile before receding her hands from my body, to which I whined at like a baby wanting to be held by their mother. She gave me a gentle pat on the head and put her hands in front of her chest.

She then began to whisper a chant and her chest and hands started to glow a little with a dark shade of pink, which slowly grew darker and darker, the darkness kept growing, until it soon turned a deep red, and suddenly, a jagged, point dark red crystal, filled with demonic energy, her demonic energy.

She presented this crystal to me and explained what it was. "Here, this is my demon core, you can use it to summon me from anywhere, no matter what I’m doing, I will always appear."

"I-Isn’t this something *Sniff* I-Important to your existence o-or something?" I asked, unsure if I should take it or not.

"It’s fine, if it’s you, then I trust you to keep it safe. And..." She trailed off, sounding a bit more sombre in her tone. "If you grow to despise me or hate me or something, you can just destroy it and I won’t mind."

"NO!" I shouted as I embraced her once again. "I would never do that! You’re my friend! I could never do something like that!"

"I know." She said sombrely. "But if I ever somehow betray you, you can do whatever you want to me. Now, I need to get going, so we should deal with this duplicate body of yours, yes?"

She pushed me back with a weary, bittersweet smile and shoved her core into my hands. I just swallowed any words and just held onto the crystal she gave me.

She then proceeded to uncoil our tails, which I hadn’t noticed until now, but they were coiled together for some reason.

"So, how should we deal with this body?" She asked with the same smile on her face.

"..." I stayed silent, not knowing how we should do it, and sure there are many ways to do it, but I couldn’t decide.

And seeing that I was having some trouble with the issue, she gave me a solution.

"We could just paralyse her? Ya’know, with the venom from the fangs. That way, you can just choose how to deal with her after I’m gone!"

"I guess..."

Don’t get me wrong, I was certainly excited to do all of that, I just wasn’t ready to say goodbye yet still.

"Please don’t worry. I know that you don’t want me to go, but I have to, and you also have to move on. Not just through this dungeon, but also in your life. Do you understand?"

"I do... But I don’t like it..."

"I know you don’t, but this is all we can do, and it’ll be a good thing for both of us. So, shall we poison this body with paralysis or not?"

"... Fine." I acquiesced to her suggestion.

I brought my mouth up to the neck and she brought an arm up to the mouth of the duplicate body. Then, we sunk out fangs into flesh and injected paralysis venom into the duplicate body for about ten minutes at which point the body suddenly fell to the floor. We weren’t sure how long this would last so I had to keep the arm held against the mouth so that Lily could make it paralyse itself whilst I continued biting the neck.

We kept on depositing venom for another twenty minutes or so before stopping. Afterwards Lily then stopped possessing my duplicate body and came out of it a bit wobbly, probably partially affected by the paralysis.

I grabbed hold of her to make sure that she didn’t fall over. It soon devolved into me once more hugging her crying and begging her not to go. She consoled me once more and eventually managed to convince me to let go of her so she could return to her home realm.

There wasn’t any fanfare or any amazing spectacle, she just simply waved and gave her farewells.

"Bye, I’ll make sure to get that message to Lord Asmodeus! See you soon!"

I returned the gesture, "Yeah, hope to see you soon as well."

It was a short, bittersweet goodbye as a could of pink smoke enshrouded her just the same as she came to me. The smoke faded and all I was left with was her core that she gave me, and my paralysed duplicate body.
