Chapter 138: Watching (2/2)
I teleported over to the edge of my domain, and there I found Belphegor in his real body, which was a surprise, and he was dressed in some ancient Hawaiian summer style clothing from before the reformation.
"You’re not going there in that are you?" I asked him sceptically.
"What’s wrong with this?" He asked back.
I explained, "You can’t go to the mortal world wearing this shit, they’ll instantly suspect you of something. You need to at least wear something culturally appropriate to the region you’re going to."
"So? I can just say that it’s from another part of the world, can’t I?" He retorted.
"Ugh, whatever, I warned you, so if you get into trouble, it’s your fault."
"Why so cold? I came here to say goodbye? Don’t tell me something else happened to your little girl?" He inquired.
"Nothing major, just relapsed into having that nightmare again." I told him.
"Right..." There was a moment of silence at the downcast atmosphere. "Anyways, I’m off to visit some of the south western archipelagos, apparently they have some pretty good fish over there, and are apparently very lazy, or so I hear."
"Yes, I hope you find what you’re looking for. Good luck on your search, and have fun. Bye." I waved him off as he returned the gesture before turning into blue smoke and most likely going back to his domain to venture off to earth.
As for me, I returned to watching my daughter.
Over the next couple of months, I oversaw her life, filled with things that ignited her desire for wonder and excitement, from learning how to smith weapons, to obtaining a personal maid...
’FUCK! I should’ve given her a guardian demon when I left. FUCK!’
Cursing at my own incompetence, I still watched her, even in my own anger, which somewhat helped me calm down.

Months pass and eventually, she goes and ventures inside of a dungeon where she encounters an undead necromancer. He seemed... Relatively chill...
Anyways, this dungeon was where my daughter got some actual combat experience with two boss monsters, it might not have been much, but she learned, which is good. And because of her deeds in being the main star in this escapade, she was rewarded with the dungeon’s core, something that I was shocked by as even here in Hell, a dungeon core is extremely valuable, more so than in the mortal realm as they don’t spawn down here.
Throughout her time experiencing her new life in this Yggdrasill offshoot, she also went on dates with the futa stag, who I have come to assume she has grown interest in, nothing wrong with that, I have interest in all genders, I won’t hold anything against her for that, unlike certain people from way back when who are still being tormented to this day by forcing them to watch gay sex or some similar thing.
The next thing I saw Traytora do genuinely shocked me, her Soul, evolved.
Like what? I knew that she unlocked the power of souls but never did I think she would evolve it so quickly. Then I realised that this would mean she was in danger from outside forced from the soul plane.
But it would also mean that I could actually do something to help her, so I sat down in a meditative position and extracted my soul into the soul plane. I wouldn’t face any dangers because of how powerful I am, not to mention that every one of us sins are masters of the soul, to the point that we can quite literally destroy souls just by looking at them.
Anyways, I entered the spiritual plane and used my connection to Traytora as her father and quickly made my way over, doing my best to avoid some other souls in case my mere presence broke them, which can happen with any being on my level in terms of soul power.
Soon, I reached the soul of a ginormous tree, the one that belonged to Yggdrasill’s offspring.
"Hmm? Ah! What are you doing here?" The tree said in shock and a little bit of fear.
"Where’s my daughter?" I asked, getting straight to the point.
"Who? Oh right, her, don’t worry, she’s safe inside of my soulscape. I can understand your desire to see her, but I’m afraid I can’t let you for my own safety and hers."
"What do you mean by that?" I inquired, slightly irritated as this might be my only chance to talk to her after so long.
"I’m sorry, but she’s currently using a chamber deep within my roots to undergo her soul evolution, which caused her to appear inside of my soulscape. Due to this, I can’t bring her out for fear of disturbing the process, and I can’t let you in, else your mere presence inside of me will cause me to be tainted with your demonic energy. I’m sorry, I really am, and I do wish I could help, but it’s best for both of us if you don’t meet." He explained in an elderly sage voice.
I gripped my fists in anguish. "Can you at least tell her that I miss her?" I asked as tears started to well up inside of me.
"..." There was a silence before the tree spoke up and asked, "How long has it been since you last saw her?"
"Over a century." I replied. "Why?"
"..." There was a silence as the tree didn’t respond for a while.
"ASNWER ME!" I yelled in frustration, my tears threatening to burst out of my eyes.
The tree’s response was, "Is that a good idea?"
"What?" I said in shock at such a question.
"I mean, is it a good idea to let her know that you were here, just out of reach, because I can’t take her out either, and she seems to have a deep desire for family, so knowing that you were here, and that she couldn’t see you, would probably hurt her more."
My body trembled knowing that. "I understand." There was another silence before the tree spoke up again.
"You should go, more for your own sake than anyone else’s."
I left in silent anguish. I was so close, yet so far. Who knows how much longer it will take before I can another opportunity like this again?
I returned to my physical body and wallowed in pain.
’It’s been so long... I just want to see her in person again...’
With my sour mood, I just curled up in misery under my sheets and locking my room so nobody disturbed me.
I did eventually return to watching my daughter, even if it pained me that I was so close.
I continued watching her go about her life, with her eating convicts and finally usingthat dungeon core to make a ring, where her consciousness entered that ring and I swore I could sense divinity in there, and coming from a dungeon core, only one god can do this.
Loki.
