Chapter 127: The End of Winter

Having a hangover was not fun. Period.

My head felt like it was banging against the wall and the blowjob Ayuri was giving me when I came to just made it worse, all that on top of this feeling of wanting to hibernate, this is the worst morning I’ve ever had.

Thankfully, my maid was as diligent as ever and got me a remedy for my headache at least. I took the medicine she brought me, which tasted bitter and disgusting, then I had some fruit to clear that taste away and washed it all down with some water and snuggled back up with my lover to go back to sleep.

When I came to some hours later, I found Ayuri once again giving me a blowjob, except it felt weird, almost like she wasn’t the one sucking my dick. I raised the sheets and found that it wasn’t Ayuri sucking me off but Cythistia.

She stopped as soon as I raised the sheets and stared at her with confusion.

Then Ayuri came in and explained to me that she had dealt with your hangover to the best of her abilities. I sighed. ’Well, at least I’m up now, and without a hangover.’ I wasn’t sure what else to say other than that.

She giggled and said, "True. What about work though? You’re more than likely going to be late, are you not?"

’Eh, it isn’t that big a deal, everyone else has been late for that reason at least once. They are dwarves after all, and despite their alcohol tolerance, they can still get a hangover if they go over their limits.’

"I suppose that’s fair, so they’ll let this slide then?" She asked.

’More than likely, I’ll probably need to explain why I got drunk and had a hangover but other than that everything will be fine.’ I explained.

"That’s good then..." There was a bit of an awkward pause before she asked with a suggestive look on her face and walking her fingers up my torso, "Hey, do you think you’d be able to get away with a bit of sex then? And just chalk it up to you hangover?"

I didn’t respond and just kissed her to affirm my answer. We then spent the next hour ’playing’ with each other before we went and continued with our normal daily routine.

I went to work after grabbing some food for the day and when I arrived, I was obviously questioned for my unusual lateness. I sheepishly explained why and they quickly accepted and understood it, letting me just get back to work.

Another month or two passed and I finally noticed signs of Cythistia getting pregnant. She’s been pregnant basically since I met her and only now is she showing any signs of life growing within her.

As soon as I noticed, everyone else in her family did as well, and all of them fawned over her, and praised both her and myself for our efforts, even though I haven’t actually done much else besides impregnate Cythistia.

Aside from their fawning over us, but mainly Cythistia, everything was normal up until the people who ran the city started panicking for some reason.

Sometime later everyone was called to gather outside the councils chambers where they would announce something very important.

"Citizens of Athenelos! We have gathered all of you to inform you that the demonic goblins have made several advances. The reason we are telling you all this is so that you do not leave the city for any reason, and if you do, you must not do it without sufficient protection!"

Everyone gasped in shock and worry, shocked by the fact that they made these supposed advances and worried that it will affect their lives. I however just felt disgust and nausea upon hearing this news. It brought back bad memories.

This was announced in the middle of the day and I was at work, so I was with the boys right now wearing some heavy clothes to stave off the cold, which I felt had been receding, even if only a little.

Work was called off that day for most of the workplaces is the western workers district and most stores in the eastern side closed up also.

I headed home like everyone else so that we could digest this information. I got home and there were several other members of the Velphine family coming back as well, most likely to discuss how they would deal with this.

And my assumption turned out to be right as everyone who was directly related to the family or held an important position was called to the main hall.

That meant that Cythistia had to go as well as I technically wasn’t part of the family yet as I hadn’t married into it yet, nor did I hold an important position in society.

Unsure of what to do I went to the library to pass the time and Ayuri accompanied me there. I was happy to see that I wasn’t the only one who came here, some of the other members of this family who come here as often, if not more than I do.

They were all sitting around, barely talking. They all looked over at me as I entered and offered me a seat.

I thanked them for making space for me, ’Thanks.’

"No problem, the more the merrier. I don’t think any of us want to be alone right now so the more company we have the better." The guy next to me said.

The next while passed and a couple more people came in a joined us but not much talking went on, we all just wanted to have some company.

A bit more time passed and one of the wolf-kin servants came in, saying that my presence was required in the main hall.

That was unnerving. Why did they want me there? What could I contribute? But despite my nervousness, I still went with the servant to join in with the discussions going on in the main hall.
