Chapter 163: Inspired by the Eyes
Chapter 163: Inspired by the Eyes
Eirik awoke slowly, his vision blurred, and his body felt heavy and weak, as if his limbs had been weighed down by an unseen force.
His head throbbed painfully, and the last thing he remembered was Sadiki’s face, the look in his eyes right before everything went black.
Now, he was lying on a soft bed, his body strangely positioned, and as his vision cleared, panic surged through him.
He was tied up. His wrists were bound to the headboard, his ankles strapped tightly to the bedposts.
The ropes bit into his skin, raw and unforgiving, leaving him no room for movement.
The room was unfamiliar, but one thing was certain, it was overwhelming in its intensity.
Everything was purple. The walls, the curtains, even the bedspread underneath him, all shades of deep violet, lavender, and lilac.
The décor felt suffocating, a twisted mockery of elegance that set Eirik’s nerves on edge. The air smelled faintly of incense, and it only added to the surreal, nightmarish quality of the situation.
A sharp pain in his abdomen made him stop his frantic struggle. His child, his heart raced with fear.
He had to be careful. As much as he wanted to tear himself free, he couldn’t risk hurting the baby growing inside him. His breaths came quick and shallow, panic threatening to overtake him as he tried to make sense of everything. What was this place? And why had Sadiki betrayed him?
The memory hit him like a punch to the gut. Sadiki. His most trusted confidant, the man he had once believed would protect him with his life.
Eirik replayed the moments before the darkness had claimed him, the strange way Sadiki had acted, the distance in his eyes, the strange apology and the pieces of clothing to his face as everything had gone black.
Sadiki had drugged him. But why?
Eirik eyes darted around the room, searching for anything familiar. But there was nothing.
The purple surroundings felt foreign, unnerving, and Eirik’s heart sank as the reality of his situation began to settle in. He had been taken, and there was no one here to help him.
He looked down at himself, only to find his clothes had been changed. He was no longer wearing the robes he had been dressed in before the betrayal.
Instead, he was adorned in something more delicate, flowing robes that looked distinctly feminine, with intricate embroidery that shimmered under the dim light.
His long, white hair was splayed out across the bed, a stark contrast to the purple that surrounded him.
The thought of someone having undressed him, having put him in this ridiculous outfit while he was unconscious, sent a wave of disgust and violation through him.
What kind of sick game was this? And why would Sadiki do this? Nothing made sense.
Kaelix. The thought of his husband’s name sent a pang of guilt and regret through him. He had left the safety of their chambers with Sadiki, foolishly trusting him.
He should have stayed in bed. He should have listened to Kaelix. Now he was alone, trapped, and he had no idea where he was.
His throat tightened as his mind raced. How could Sadiki have done this? And for what reason? He’d known Sadiki for years, loved him even before Kaelix, yet it seemed he had never truly known him at all.
Before Eirik could delve deeper into his swirling thoughts, the door creaked open. Eirik froze, his pulse quickening as footsteps echoed softly on the purple-carpeted floor.
A figure stepped into the room, and Eirik’s breath caught in his throat. Of all the people he had suspected, this was the last face he expected to see.
"Prince Carl."
The prince of Mbuzuoria, with his dark, piercing eyes and a predatory smirk twisting his lips. Carl’s presence instantly filled the room with an air of danger, and the sinister gleam in his eyes made Eirik’s skin crawl.
"How do you like your room?" Carl’s voice was smooth, dripping with mockery. "I decorated it with you in mind."
Eirik’s heart pounded in his chest as he stared at Carl, disbelief and horror battling for dominance.
Carl? What the hell was happening? What could possibly have linked Sadiki to Carl? And why was Eirik here?
His thoughts raced, but his mouth was too dry to form words. He glared at Carl, refusing to show the fear clawing at his insides.
Carl’s smirk widened as he sat on the edge of the bed, far too close for Eirik’s liking.
"You look confused," Carl purred, his eyes scanning Eirik from head to toe in a way that made his stomach churn.
"I suppose I should explain. I got the inspiration for the room from your eyes," he said with a smile that twisted into something far more sinister. "That lovely shade of purple. It’s only fitting, don’t you think?"
Eirik felt his skin crawl as Carl leaned in closer, the weight of his presence oppressive.
If his hands weren’t tied, he would have lashed out, anything to get Carl away from him. But there was nothing he could do except lie there, helpless, as Carl continued to speak.
"You see, Eirik," Carl said, his voice low, almost intimate, "from the moment I set my eyes on you, I knew we were meant to be. So, I had to put a stop to my father’s plans to kill you.
I couldn’t let such beauty go to waste. Instead, I decided to have you all to myself."
Eirik’s blood ran cold. ’His father’s plans?’ The truth hit him like a blow to the gut. Mbuzuoria had been behind the assassination attempts.
The attacks, the attempts on his life, it had all been them. And Sadiki, had Sadiki been the one feeding them information all along? Had his former lover been a traitor from the start?
No. Eirik couldn’t believe it. Sadiki had loved him once, hadn’t he? There had to be more to this. There had to be some reason behind this madness.
But as he looked at Carl’s smug face, his confidence, his certainty, Eirik’s heart filled with dread. Maybe Sadiki had never loved him. Maybe he had been a pawn all along.
Carl’s laugh cut through his thoughts.
"Yes, Sadiki was the one giving us your location. Every time you moved, every time you thought you were safe, he made sure we knew where to find you.
But don’t worry, Eirik," Carl leaned closer, his breath warm against Eirik’s ear, "you’re safe with me now."
Eirik’s anger flared, burning through the fear that had gripped him. He gritted his teeth, staring defiantly at Carl. "Let me go. I’m married to Prince Kaelix, and I belong to him. I’ll never be yours."
Carl chuckled darkly, his eyes gleaming with amusement. "Oh, I’m going to enjoy breaking you," he whispered, his voice a low, dangerous purr.
He moved closer, pressing his body against Eirik’s, and Eirik tried to pull away, but the ropes held him fast. His skin crawled at the sensation of Carl’s touch.
Carl’s lips crashed against his in a brutal, forceful kiss. Eirik recoiled internally, his body tense with disgust, but he had no way to fight back.
When Carl finally pulled away, he licked his lips, a satisfied groan escaping him. "You taste even sweeter than I imagined."
Eirik’s stomach turned. If he could, he would have scrubbed his lips raw, anything to get rid of the feeling of Carl’s mouth on his.
His heart raced with fury and disgust, and he cursed himself for being in such a helpless position. He glared up at Carl, his eyes filled with venom.
Carl stood up, a satisfied smirk on his face as he looked down at Eirik. "This will be your new home from now on. Better get used to it." He turned, his back to Eirik as he walked toward the door.
"Let me go, you sick bastard!" Eirik screamed, his voice raw with rage.
"I’ll kill you! I swear to god, I’ll rip your throat out with my bare hands, you coward! You think this will break me? You think tying me up will make me yours? You’re a fool, Carl! Kaelix will come for me, and when he does, I’ll make sure you suffer for this!"
Carl paused at the door, turning slightly to glance over his shoulder, his smile widening.
"I’m looking forward to it," he said softly before stepping out and closing the door behind him, leaving Eirik alone in the suffocating purple room.
Eirik screamed again, thrashing against the ropes even though he knew it was pointless. "You’ll pay for this! Do you hear me? You’ll pay!"
