A Professor of Magic at Hogwarts -
Chapter 612: Roaring Tide - (2)
"This is what I thought of while standing below, inspired by one of the exclusive wand testers. Just from this perspective, my goal has been achieved, and the efforts of the entire 'Future World' Corporation have been successful. We hope to gather more wisdom, not just through the simple interaction of 'we provide products, and you choose products.'"
"I mentioned inspiration—so next, I will share with you a new idea that just came to me, and I'm willing to call it significant." Felix said, "Well—things happened suddenly, and I need a dedicated wand for demonstration and transformation."
"Here, Professor!" Fred called out, tossing a wand up.
Felix stared as it spun in mid-air, finally hovering in front of him, motionless.
The crowd eagerly awaited.
Reporters raised their cameras, ready to capture the important moment. Lupin waved his wand, and the Billywig-like alchemical device above people's heads slightly lowered.
Felix waited for two seconds, then extended his hand, brushing it over the dedicated wand in front of him. A star-like gem sparkled, and he silently observed. Soon, the shining ruby gem detached from the wand, followed by the second, third... after two or three minutes, he showcased the wand to everyone, with only two gems remaining.
The other six differently colored gems blinked mischievously and were gathered by Felix into his palm, then stored in his pocket.
He stood straight, facing the audience with a steady voice.
"Magic is mysterious, diverse, and should not be constrained.""What I'm doing now is adding amplification circuits and magic storage circuits on the basis of traditional wands—of course, the wand in my hand lacks a suitable wand core, so what you see is a semi-finished product. But for me, it's more than enough, and it won't affect the upcoming demonstration."
"If anyone with obstacles in spellcasting dreams of freely casting spells and doesn't mind putting in efforts beyond the ordinary... then the wand I'm introducing will undoubtedly meet your expectations."
"Mr. Harp, can you elaborate?" A daring reporter smelled the scent of breaking news and asked.
Yes, indeed daring. In fact, even Felix himself wasn't sure, but one thing did happen: everyone was adapting to coexisting with Felix Harp. The wizards on British soil felt it especially deeply. A powerhouse equivalent to Dumbledore and Voldemort, and possibly no less than either of them, was someone nobody could ignore. And—this powerhouse seemed to be following Dumbledore's path, not showing any interest in politics.
Many silently rejoiced.
Especially in the past year, a few duels that exceeded standard specifications had made people realize the unparalleled oppression and dominance a wizard standing at the top of the world could bring. It could be said that with such a person, the magical world of Britain could sleep soundly for a century or two, without worrying about any domestic or foreign threats.
In fact, as long as Felix was alive, that was enough.
If this trend continued, the honors and treatment that Dumbledore once enjoyed would probably fall on Mr. Harp as well. For example, if Madam Bones had retirement plans (though not likely in the short term), the first consideration for her successor wouldn't be within the Ministry but a professor at Hogwarts.
Internationally, it was the same.
Dumbledore voluntarily resigned from the position of Chief Warlock of the International Confederation of Wizards, a massive loss that made countless people sigh. But they were equally confident that, in maybe a decade or two, this position would accurately land on Felix Harp's head.
Though he might refuse it...
Many wizards prayed silently that this young grand sorcerer wouldn't be too capricious.
Facing the reporter's questions, Felix thought for a moment and said, "Compared to the exclusive wands released earlier, this one lacks the built-in magical part. It brings inconvenience to users, but on the other hand, it frees the product from the initial constraints. It will be just like the first wand carefully chosen by young wizards, full of infinite potential."
"...This product is a heavyweight product that 'Future World' Corporation will develop and improve in the future."
Felix still left some room. In fact, he had already overcome all technical difficulties, and even the final product was out—just that it had little to do with him; it was done by the old man Grindelwald.
With the old man's proud character, he wouldn't allow himself to use a low-quality and restricted wand.
"In the future, 'Future World' will consider partnering with wand industry leaders, such as Mr. Ollivander, to jointly explore a new field. I firmly believe that this will mark another revolutionary moment in wand history. Because if successful, Muggles can learn magic like young wizards just starting school, without any restrictions on spellcasting!"
People whispered to each other, and the lively discussions drowned out the scene. Many 'Future World' employees came out to check the situation, especially on the third floor, where a row of house-elf heads peeked out from the railing, all wearing neat and clean clothes, full of energy, looking particularly conspicuous.
Some keen reporters secretly took a few pictures, even considering applying to stay and visit the company after the exhibition ended.
The commotion gradually subsided, and a shaky old wizard stood up, trembling, unable to even hold onto his cane properly. Felix seriously doubted if he could use the exclusive wand; he might not even live a few more years.
"Sir, do you have any questions?"
"I... I do," the old wizard tried to open his eyes wide, asking with anticipation, "If what you said is true, and mute children can learn magic independently, does it mean... does it mean mute children have a chance to attend Hogwarts?"
Everyone held their breath, some with solemn and serious expressions, others filled with hope and anticipation.
Felix hesitated.
He didn't like to say too much, and he had many reasons to dodge this, such as these wands not being finalized yet, or such questions not falling within the scope of discussion. Even the massive magical energy consumption brought about by a large number of mute children attending school was a problem. In short, various aspects were involved.
"There is a chance." But he finally said.
Felix optimistically estimated that at least in the first few years, the number of people wouldn't be too many. As for the future... he could always set up another magic school, well, let's push the position of headmaster to Romulus.
The conference ended, and Felix looked up at the giant crystal-like chandelier, a sudden thought flashing in his mind: in another decade or two, would he become the uncrowned king of the magical world? He already had a premonition of the overwhelming tide and endless troubles coming at him, threatening to engulf him completely.
He couldn't let this happen!
Felix firmly decided in his heart that he must discover a few more tools at Hogwarts... um, he meant like-minded partners. Thinking about it this way, Grindelwald became his direct competitor—someone had always suspected that, besides coming out for some fresh air during his imprisonment, the old man also had a hidden agenda: to find an heir for himself.
He couldn't let the old man take all the benefits. Felix rubbed his hands together.
It was foreseeable that the new school year at Hogwarts wouldn't be too peaceful.
